TODAY’S DEVOTION (Friday 24th April 2020)
“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 115th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING
Let us go straight into what the LORD has on the table for us today!
The first word to ever proceed out of the mouth of God in the scriptures was a creative proceeding word. The word said, “let there be light.” Let there be is a creative word.
Come to think of it, it was during an enormous eternal problem that ELOHIM made that statement. Meaning when I am in an unpleasant situation, I should think creatively.
We were created to be in God’s image and likeness and to be in God’s image we must understand how He functions. He did not complain when he found Himself in a chaotic situation. The first word was creative!
The word was not a “complain” but a “creative word” that was released as a “command” to the darkness that covered the face of the deep then, forcing it to give way to light.
There is another truth we can glean here, and the truth is simple.
The first time God spoke into our realm was not to bind a demon because they were already out of power but to fix a darkness problem. Until you are in light, you will always have devils around you. But you can see from that declaration that mankind’s greatest need is light from Heaven.
We wrestle with darkness every day and suffer from its terrible activities around us. In fact, all the problems of men are darkness problems. You see it even in the Corona Virus pandemic and all places. From captivities to moral decay, it is really an eyesore.
But that also tells us that light remain the only answer to all darkness problems. Except you pray according to God’s guiding Light, you cannot even use prayer to solve a darkness problem. You need Heavenly light and understanding to solve a darkness problem.
THE HOLY GHOST COULD NOT EVEN MOVE TO FIX ANY PROBLEM IN THE CHAOTIC EARTH UNTIL THERE WAS LIGHT.
God will first give you light and understanding before moving to fix any problem permanently in your life. That is why the first manifestation of His Spirit has always been light and understanding.
The manifestation of His Spirit around the throne room is seen as the seven spirits of GOD. Most of their activities are centered on giving light and understanding.
So, when things are not okay with you, seek the LORD first for light and understanding, the very thing that was found in Daniel that helped him solved the mysteries or darkness problems of his day. That is where divine wisdom comes in.
Divine wisdom is God’s guiding Light and understanding. It is the key to solving all darkness problems. It lightens our paths showing us what to do to be saved.
We have read some of the most amazing truths that I never saw anywhere except in the place of prayer. I guess you are not just reading these devotionals but allowing God to use them to actualize His will in your life.
I have dome to discover that it is not hearers of the word that get blessed but doers of the word! Until you do the righteous word of GOD, you cannot undo the evil works of any evil kingdom among men.
If you ask me, I will say the easiest way to undo the works of the devil in our lives is to do the word of the LORD. It is word doers that brings down GOD’s demolition angles in the realm of the Spirit. In our devotional today we will continue with the flow of revelation on accessing and operating the wisdom of God.
LET ME DO A LITTLE RECAP!
We made it clear in previous devotionals that to access and operate the wisdom of God one must be born again, and we explained that born again is not a religious title but a phrase that describes “the washing of regeneration” that occurs after a genuine encounter with the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
A true salvation experience will sanctify your spirit and get it ready to access and operate God’s wisdom.
Then we shared about living a righteous life after salvation and explained how sin and divine wisdom cannot co-exist.
Then we shared about receiving the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, as key to accessing and operating divine wisdom. We made it clear that the Holy Ghost is GOD’S Wisdom Central Bank. Without Him, you will be led by either the wisdom of men or devils.
Yesterday we began another flow on living a studious Christian life. We made it clear that becoming a Bible Student is the next way to access and operate divine wisdom. A major Highlight in our devotional text today says,
“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
God humbled an entire nation, and allowed them to suffer hunger, feeding them with angels’ food not to teach them how to heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, get and stay married, make money, earn degrees from the university, stay safe, become medical personals, or social security experts.
He humbled an entire nation and allowed them to hunger, feeding them with angels’ food alone just to teach them to live by what proceeds out of His mouth.
It means learning to live by what proceed out of the mouth of the LORD is the greatest lesson you can receive on the face of the earth. It is bigger than obtaining any degrees from the ivory towers.
How important are the words to proceed out of God’s mouth to the forces of darkness around us? They are so important that Jesus had to use the same scripture to neutralize the attacks of Satan during his hour of temptation.
THEY ARE SO IMPORTANT THAT THE ENTIRE CREATION CAME OUT OF THEM.
I do not care what the enemy may have done in your life, if you can lay hold on what proceeds out of god’s mouth, there will be victory at last!
When God speaks a part of Him is released in the direction that His words are sent. To experience God therefore, you must experience His proceeding word.
To encounter His wisdom, you must encounter His proceeding word. And the first written Books to ever proceed from God were the books that men like Enoch, Methuselah, and Noah wrote.
But these books were not canonized in scriptures because God never wanted them there. The authenticity of the copies that were available was in doubt.
Today, the Bible is the first written books to ever proceed from God Himself. Man shall not live by bread alone but by spending time with this book that proceeded from God – the Bible. Peter wrote saying,
“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;” 2 Peter 1:19 NKJV
When you spend time, I mean enough time with the Bible, in an atmosphere of God, you will begin to experience God commanding light to shine out of any darkness in your heart. When that happens, supernatural sparks will begin to occur in your spirit, imparting light, and life into you.
That is how we move from darkness to light!
Friend, sicknesses have been healed, demonic chains broken, souls saved from the grips of the evil one, and even premature death defeated by spending time with the written word (the Bible) and having the experience I just stated above.
No matter the circumstances you find yourself, it is always better to spend time with the word than to spend time with the world.
Spending time with the WORD will make you a friend of God but spending time with the WORLD will make you an enemy of God. Do not forget, it takes friendship with God to access and operate divine wisdom.
We can go on and on, but this is not a book but a devotional.
As you begin a fresh weekend, make it a weekend that your Bible will become your greatest companion. Read it, study it, meditate in it, and spend the rest of your days on earth filling your mind with it. Divine wisdom will find a resting place in your heart if you do.
Indeed, man was not designed to live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God. The Bible is the most authentic written word to have proceeded from the mouth of God. If you do not give it its place in your life, you will always be displaced by the perils of life.
