THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 26th April 2020)

“Therefore say I unto you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” Matthew 21:43-44 KJV

WELCOME TO THE 116th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING

Everyone has a place in GOD to cease by revelation and occupy till Jesus comes. The door to that place is Jesus Christ. The Bible says He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except by Him. That means no one will be able to access his or her place in GOD except through Jesus Christ.

That is why lack of intimacy with Jesus is bad. If your Christianity is in the mouth and not in your heart, you will never be intimate with Jesus, thereby keeping you outside the special place God created for you in Him. So many people are yet to find purpose in God because they are not intimate with Christ.

Some put mere prophets as their access to God and try to place Christ on the same pedestal, hence missing the authentic place in GOD reserved for them.

Israel had a special place reserved for them by God. God used Moses to birth the revelation of the place in their hearts, then Moses introduced them to Jesus as the door to the place. The Bible says.

Moses continued, “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. Deuteronomy 18:15 NLT

SADLY, WHEN JESUS FINALLY CAME, THEY REJECTED HIM. OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT TELLS US WHAT HAPPENED THEREAFTER.

You know, when Jesus came, the Israelites were too attached to Moses to submit to Jesus. They rejected the Kingdom, and God decided that it will be taken away from them and given to us the gentiles.

Beautifully that has happened! And now it is the turn of Israel to have it back. I am glad to tell you that they are having it back. We are getting to the prophetic place of the One New Man. That is why we need Heavenly wisdom to guide our lives so that we can perfectly fit into the program of GOD.

For the past two devotionals we have been looking at the Bible as one major access to divine wisdom. Paul made it clear in his letter to Timothy that the scripture is able to make us wise.

I am yet to find a Christian who studies his Bible and meditates in the written word on its pages day and night walking in foolishness. Meditating in the word has a way of impregnating a man with supernatural wisdom and other impartations that unlocks the divine. It is the instrument for interacting with what is from above.

If you say you are a Christian but you do not create time for word impartation – seasons you must lock yourself up with the word until Light shines in your heart, you will have soon run into trouble waters that none can help you out.

Every man and women who ever walked with God spent time with Him in deep meditation! Men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the prophets, and the apostles gave themselves entirely to prayer and the ministry of the word – which implies time spent with what we now have as the Bible.

IF YOU ARE TOO NOISY AND BUSY, YOU WILL BE TOO FEEBLE IN THE SPIRIT.

In fact, you will be “eatable” meaning devils can feat on you. Wordless Christians are worthless Christians. The Bible is the greatest asset of men and women of spiritual worth in Christ Jesus. When it impacts your life deeply, you become a lively stone of His kingdom on earth.

Many of us do not know that we are destined to be God’s lively stones on the face of the earth. Peter wrote about this when he stated;

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-6 NKJV

We are lively stones that are being built together into one temple for God on the face of the earth, to offer Him acceptable spiritual sacrifices through our corporate worship. But if we do not spend time with the Bible meditating in His word, we will not fulfill this portion of our destiny.

When the living word enters our spirit, and we allow it to settle in us, it will process us into lively stones spiritually. When we become God’s lively stones, it will become impossible for us to be defeated by the perils of life. A major highlight in our devotional text today says;

“And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder”

When you become a lively stone in God’s hands, whosoever falls on you will be broken; but whoever you fall on will be grinded. Hallelujah!

I tell people to stop being enemy conscious and become God conscious. When you become God conscious, “eating” His precious word in the Bible with your spirit daily, you will become a lively stone in the spirit. When you become a lively stone, your enemies will begin to go through torments for coming against you without you even praying about it.

Sadly, many of us do not feed our spirits as instructed by the LORD.

We do not give it the required breakfast and dinner as outlined in scriptures. We feed our bodies and abandon our spirits hence becoming food for our enemies.

But I pray for you today that you stop denying your spirit it is required breakfast and dinner. I pray that you feed your faith and starve your doubts to death, like God’s servant Lister Sumrall once said.

MAKE THIS SRCIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION.

“Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.

And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness. Ezekiel 3:1-3 NKJV
