THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Saturday 13th February 2021)

“Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing, Declare, proclaim this, Utter it to the end of the earth; Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob!” Isaiah 48:20 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 44th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS

God has been faithful to us. He has kept us from harm and from the enemy of our souls. He has been a great Father to all of us and a shelter from the storms of life. Moses said, “Though have been our dwelling place in all generations.” That is the purpose of serving the LORD, to live in Him as our dwelling place.

If storms are beating your life without divine interventions, it means you are yet to find Him; you are yet to make Him your dwelling place. One way we make Him our dwelling place is to seek Him in spirit and in truth until we become sold out to His will, ways and purposes.

When He becomes our dwelling place, we will find ourselves no longer walking in the flesh but in the Spirit. We will move from a carnal mindset to a spiritual mindset. But none of these can happen without a constant work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and minds.

Apart from sanctifying us with the Presence of Jesus Christ whenever we yield to Him, one major thing the Holy Ghost does to bring us into a spiritual mindset is to release scriptural revelation knowledge to us. That is what He has been doing through this platform, and today will not be an exception.

This morning He will be bringing a revelation knowledge to us on RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS.

I woke up thinking about what relationships has done to the lives of men and women. My mind went into the lives of many people I have met and known closely languishing in unredeemable circumstances because of the people they have in their lives; some, people they cannot do without.

If Satan place one wrong person in your life, he or she will become an extension of demonic activities in your life. The most difficult person to deliver from demonic bondages is the person who voted for his or her afflictions by making a wrong person part of his or her lives.

We must ask the LORD for the courage to deal with wrong people and the revelation to accept right people into our lives.

Yes, it could be difficult, but every one of us need the courage to deal with any wrong person the enemy place in our lives. We also need to revelation, humility and swiftness to bring RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS into our lives.

DAVID NEEDED A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP IN SAUL’S YOUNG DAUGHTER TO BE SAVED FROM AN ASSASSINATION PLOT BY HER FATHER.

Apostle Paul needed a Right Relationship in his little Nephew to be saved from a plot to kill him. No one can become what God has called him to be without Right Relationships.

If you have a destiny to fulfill without Right Relationships around you, the dragon will bring you under a spiritual siege and cut your life short. That was what he did to Samson.

Sadly, many of us have not really seen that Samson was executed by a wrong Relationship that the dragon planted in his life.

Delilah had a connection with the five lords of the Philistines. But Samson had no connection with them. They could not destroy him. But when he brought into his life someone with a connection with people that wanted him dead, they got him. Some of us have read and heard about it in our Sunday school Classes but have not really seen it. That is why we still fall into the same snare.

We bring all manner of people connected to unclean spirits into our lives; spirits that would have had no power over us if those people were not in our lives. They come into our lives as either as close friends, what we call destiny helpers, wives, husbands, friends, Church members, pastors, ministry or business partners and etc. bringing us under spiritual siege.

Sometimes they come in as our own blood. It can be that complicated and sensitive. And how can you do away with your own child, wife, husband, brother and etc. No you can’t! You will only need the wisdom of God to handle such circumstances.

When a spiritual attack or a siege that exist in your life is caused by a relationship that is too close to do away with, you will really need a God that must be too close to do away with to be free from the things they pour into your life.

Talking about spiritual siege, a siege is simply a military blockage that prevents what makes life worth living from coming into your life. A spiritual siege therefore is a spiritual blockage in someone’s life that prevents good from coming into that life from time to time.

THIS BLOCKAGE PREVENTS THE WORKS OF GOD FROM BREAKING FORTH IN SOMEONE’S LIFE.

When you come under a siege in the spirit, suicide thoughts will become the only thoughts that you can muster. Life will lose its meaning to you; in simple terms you will begin to love death and anything that looks like it more than life.

When you are under a siege in the spirit, the wrong people will be the ones that will be coming to ask your hand in marriage if you are a single lady. And if you are gentle man, you will always be falling into the hands of wrong women. You will never find a wife but women all around you.

Socially, when you come under a spiritual siege, you lose relevance and social appeal.

For instance, if your friends are celebrating a Birthday or any other social function that will bless you if you attend, you will not even be remembered. In fact, it will not be deliberate. What is happening around you spiritually will make them forget that you even exist until the function is over.

Physiologically, living under a siege in the spirit will shut down your health system and not allow you to have rest. You will be moving from one ill health to another, spending fortunes until your money is no more. Medical help will not be able to help in any way.

Anyone who tries to help you will also come under the same attacks.

Economically, when you are under a siege in the spirit you will become mysteriously poor. If you have a business it will become dry; people will no longer come for your services. Those who owe you will refuse to pay and even if you have something to sale to salvage the situation, there will be no buyers coming. It is very terrible to be under a siege in the spirit.

People who try to help you out of your economic troubles will begin to experience economic hardship themselves. One of the major blessings of an outbreak of God is the elimination of spiritual siege from the lives of men.

Concerning the nation of Israel, the Bible says it was so bad that women began to eat up their Children. Nothing good was coming into the City. Everything they had was eaten up without replenishment until there was nothing left to eat but their Children. It was an outbreak of God that ended the siege.

IT IS REALLY TERRIBLE TO LIVE UNDER A SIEGE IN THE SPIRIT.

What I just stated about Israel can be found in 2 Kings Chapter 6; if your economic life suits that description, then you need an urgent help from the LORD! Join us in our services for Help from above.

I have also come to discover that most bitter rivalries in families are products of this kind of captivity. When people come under a siege in the spirit, harmony will no longer exist in their lives. And since hurting people hurt people, they will begin to hurt even those who love them. It is really terrible to spend even a day under a spiritual siege.

If you are under any kind of a siege, get set to walk out of it this month. God will use prophetic blast from the presence of His glory to bring your siege to an end. Just join us in our services. In 2 Kings Chapters 6 and 7 God used a Right Relationship in Elisha to send a prophetic blast that broke the siege over the nation and brought a turnaround in 24 hours. The Bible says

“Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.'”

“So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” 2 Kings 7:1-2 NKJV

All through the scriptures you see a repeat of this kind of divine move in the lives of people. You see God using one Right Relationship to blast through and bring captives out of sieges.

As we can see in the scripture above, one Right Relationship in Elisha turned things around for Israel. One Right Relationship will turn things around for you. It could be an Elisha or any other, you just need and outbreak of God in your life coming in through a Right Relationship.

Now, it is important to let you know that, not every relationship is ordained for you because not everyone can bring a siege to an end in your life. In other words, you do not need many people to deal with a siege. You do not need an army of prayer partners. You need just one RIGHT PERSON – an Elisha – to turn things around in your life.

You need someone who is equipped to bring Heaven to the earth or graced to provoke eternity to invade time on your behalf.

THAT WAS WHO ELISHA WAS TO ISRAEL AND THAT IS WHO YOU NEED AT THIS TIME OF YOUR LIFE!

Our devotional text today is a unique one. It is more of a divine instruction to someone who will be sensitive to the Spirit to sense what God is saying than anything else. It says;

“Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing, Declare, proclaim this, Utter it to the end of the earth; Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob!”

Sometimes to come out of a siege you do not need an Elisha to rise for you. You just need to walk out of the lives of some people by yourself. You will need to cut off from those you brought into your life who are connected to unclean spirits.

I want you to understand clearly that if your life is not progressing; if things are going from bad to worst. If the desire to die is stronger in you than the desire to live, you need to walk out from the lives of certain people you are currently clinging to.

If you consider the story of Samson for a moment, you will discover in Judges 16:16-17 that he actually came under a spiritual siege. Delilah literally besieged him until he lost the desire to live. But if he had walked out of her life, the story would have been different for him.

There are deliverances that do not come by prayer and fasting but by walking out. Yes, walking out of the lives of people connected to unclean spirits.

Friend, if you did not hear God speaking to you through our devotional text, I believe the story of Samson should speak to you. Certain siege cannot be broken by prayer and fasting, you just have to break loose from the relationship the enemy has used to besiege you, and be free.

When you break from it, the next step will be to break from what it left in your life. Sometimes you leave Egypt or Delilah but what they deposited into your life or leave with you is still there hanging, making life unbearable. That is where you will need the glory of the LORD running through you and carrying out a great work in your life to be totally free.

As we close this devotional today, ask the LORD for the courage to do the right things; seek Him in prayer to help you separate from the wrong people you have always treated as right people.

MAY THIS SCRIPTURES SHED MORE LIGHT INTO YOUR HEART AS YOU MAKE THEM YOUR MEDITATION TODAY;
