TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Thursday 6th May 2021)

“Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice. A man will be as a hiding place from the wind, and a cover from the tempest, as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.”

“The eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will listen. Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.” Isaiah 32:1-4 NKJV

The fact that we woke up this morning tells me that He who inhabits eternity has extended our stay on the face of the earth. It is important that we give Him thanks for this marvelous deed.

There are elements of time that has capacity to eliminate us even while asleep, but He protected us and said, “touch not mine anointed ones, and do my prophetic people no harm.” Yes, we are His anointed ones because His Spirit lives in us, and His prophetic people because we are prisoners of prophecies.

It may interest you to know that the first time God opened my understanding to the mystery of being a prisoner of prophecy was in 1998 when I was in intense battle for leaving a Church that was heading toward intercourse with Babylon. And when I say prisoner of prophecy, am referring to the more sure word of prophecy not some prophecies from the mouth of your prophets.

If you are sincere and true before God, you do not leave some bad Churches and live a good life, except God be with you. That was also the same period that the words “If God be for me, it takes a fool to be against me” were transmitted into my spirit while listening to a particular preacher on an audio tape.

I was not listening to copy their Message, like people do today. I was listening to grow in faith.

So the two sets of Rhema words kept me all through that period.

I understood that since I am a prisoner of prophecy; no devil can arrest me again. I have already been arrested by God and His word for my life, and confined to the prison of doing His will and walking in His ways.

I knew then that I was too secured to be extinguished, except the LORD permits. My faith was kept alive by those fiery truths all through the fiery trials of those days. God will use fiery prophetic words to keep you in the midst of fiery trials of faith.

So, I have lived as a prisoner of prophecies all my life since that year. And I can tell you that is the best kind of life to live in a wicked and perverse generation. Yes, as a prisoner of prophecy, you are confined to living in God’s will and following His ways all your life, no matter the cost.

They were men and women who the world was not worthy. What they lived and died for, made them people who were respected in Heaven, feared in Hell, and rejected by evil men and women on earth. They were persecuted and hated because of who they represented on earth; the God who inhabits eternity and want o redeem men in time.

Concerning some of them, the Bible says,

“And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:

who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.

They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— of whom the world was not worthy.

They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. Hebrew 11:32-38 NKJV

It depends on the generation you find yourself, when you truly become a prisoner of prophecy, one who have confined himself or herself to doing God’s will and following His ways only; you will find yourself doing a lot of exploits in one hand, and going through very terrible things by the hand of the dragon, in the other.

Yes, in one hand you will be subduing kingdoms, working righteousness, obtaining promises, stopping the mouths of lions, quenching the violence of fire, and escaping the edge of the sword. There will times and seasons that out of weakness you will be made strong, making it impossible to be completely destroyed by the enemy.

You will be tortured, physically, mentally or spiritually as the case may be because of Christ, His will and ways. Sometimes you will be given options to be free or made rich if only you will deny His ways and will you have embraced, but you will find yourself not accepting that deliverance, that you might obtain a better resurrection.

Yes, you will have trials of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and even of physical, marital, or financial imprisonment.

You could be stoned and sawn into two if it becomes necessary for the enemy to do so. It all depends on the weight of the hate in their hearts. You will be tempted, slain with the sword, made to wander about in penury or sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, or tormented.

In simple terms, as you grow in your consecration, you will find yourself in a place where the world will not be worthy of you. That is the heritage of prisoners of prophecy, which is why many believers fear becoming one. But our devotional text says,

Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.”

Prisoners of prophecies eventually becomes hiding places for their generation; yes, they become hiding places from the winds of life, and covers from the tempest of sins, iniquity and trespass. God has a way of making them rivers of water in dry spiritual places for those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness to quench their spiritual thirst.

But Satan will prefer having a world and a church without them, hence fighting them with all he can muster both in the church and the lost world. He uses any one available to him to persecute and attack them ferociously.

But woe betides whoever allows the enemy to use them against this breed of people without repentance, because God’s fury will burn against them like a furnace in the day of judgment.

It may interest you to know that the reason for His judgment on them is because, it is the presence of God’s prisoners of prophecies that weakens the enemy and neutralizes his evil works in the lives of men. So God will not allow those who attack them without repentance to go without being judged.

This people do not just bring physical healing where necessary, they bring the healing of the soul. That is why if you find them running Churches, they run them as grounds and pillars of truth not as money making machines, social clubs, political parties, or metaphysical cults.

If you find them in proper marriages, you will see God using their unions to establish His kingdom on earth as written in heaven. They carry an uncommon treasure from Heaven that transforms moral landscapes on earth.

Sadly, Satan knows the power these breed generate if allowed to marry the right mate and in run their marriages in God’s way, hence setting them up to get into marriages that are either not established in God’s will or ran in God’s ways. He knows how to neutralize prisoners of prophecies through this kind of marital alliances.

The Bible says, “One prisoner of prophecy can chase a thousand. But two of them in a proper marriage will chase ten thousand.” That is what He fears most. They have the potential of bringing forth a seed that will crush his works and subdue his activities on the face of the earth, when properly joined together either in marriage, in a Church group, or nay other kind of kingdom advance partnership.

The word seed is not necessary a Child, but a combine kingdom activities of prisoners of prophecies working together in a kingdom advance partnership to bring the Kingdom of God down to earth as written in Heaven.

But prisoners of prophecies do not care even if the world hates them, because they know what they are up against; they know they are called to fight the battles of the LORD. They know they are called to serve as His hiding place from the wind for a perishing generation, and therefore remains focused and resolute to spend their days doing just that.

Through their walk with the LORD, the eyes of those who have been blessed to see into God’s plans, program and ways for their lives cannot be dim, and the ears of those who have been blessed to develop a listening ear to the voice of the LORD, will never fail to live a life that listens to God.

Satan fears them because God has a way of using them to build a people over whom hell cannot prevail.

If you read through the Bible, you will realize that despite the resistance against them, there is a way God usually make Prisoners of prophecies valiant in battle, as they respond to His plans and purposes.

That is why if you are one, you will find yourself being able to turn to flight the armies of the aliens even when it seems impossible. You will find an uncommon strength coming from a world outside this world to help you do exploits as you remain standing in faith.

You will find the prophetic word of God over your life carrying you through and through, and making you strong and stronger against the enemy. You will find God watching over His word in your life to bring it to pass.

Yes, the Holy Spirit will be letting God’s word go active every now and then in your life to neutralize the enemy for you.

Friend, the best prisoner to be on the face of the earth is a prisoner of prophecy. Anything that tries to imprison a prisoner of prophecy who is in right standing with God, ends up getting the terrors of the LORD unleashed against it.

No weapon fashioned against them prospers. Tongues that rises against them in judgment are usually condemned by the prophecies that have imprisoned them in God’s kingdom.

It is important to note that if your life is under any kind of threat, the escape lies in you becoming a prisoner of prophecies. Yes, it lies in you confining yourself to doing God’s will and following his ways only, no matter the consequences.

It is my prayer that you hear a word from the LORD this morning to become one of His prisoners of prophecy. To start living your life confined to his will and ways, so that you can find rest for your soul.

Hell will never let you do that cheaply; but you must decide to do it irrespective of the cost. Going to Heaven is free but not cheap. There is a price that must be paid. God’s call upon our lives remains the same; to be His prisoners of prophecies, not prisoners of our carnal passions or the evil and corrupt system of this world.

Do not forget that it is the kingdom activities of one prisoner of prophecy, called Paul, that got us the revelation of what Christianity really is. You are the next on God’s list to start doing kingdom things that will unfold the revelation to this generation and extend it to the next.

“For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,

how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,

of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.” Ephesians 3:1-7 NKJV
