TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Friday 23RD July 2021)
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 204TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
We give God the glory of giving us another day to serve Him by living right and doing His blessed will.
We thank Him for the daily word we have been receiving from His throne. It has indeed been a blessing to be part of what the LORD is doing in the now. To Him belong the glory, amen and amen.
Today we will be looking at the power of God and its importance in the life of a man or woman in Christ.
Can you imagine a cell-phone without a battery? No matter how sophisticated it may be, its potentials will never be realized. That is how a child of God without the power of God is in the Spirit realm. He is powerfully endowed, but you cannot see anything significant happening in His life.
You can’t receive a call with a sophisticated mobile phone without a battery. Neither can you be on face book, Instagram, WhatsApp, nor any other form of the social media networks available today with it. That is the natural way of describing a life that has every potential to become great but no power or manifest presence of the Holy Spirit in it to make it great.
It will just be blank and dark!
Using the terms of automobile engineering, I want you to understand that Christianity without power is like a beautiful car without a working engine! There will be nothing to drive it with even after kicking the engine – in fact there will be no engine to kick.
If you lack the power of the Holy Spirit in your life, your prayer, fasting, singing, giving and study of scriptures will lack effect – it will be like trying to drive a car without an engine – a form of godliness that has no power!
That is why the outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon a man is a necessity.
ONE MAJOR PERSON YOU SHOULD SEEK THIS HOUR OF YOUR LIFE, IS THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
If you are single, do not seek marriage until you seek and find Him. He is the only travel partner that will guide you accurately and safely through to any season of life you want to enter into – marriage inclusive.
He will animate your potentials and help you realize them.
He will take away your failures and frailty and make you super human. Yes, He will make you God’s superman on the face of the earth.
I have seen the Holy Spirit take a fool and turn him into the wisest person you can ever deal with. I was born a stutterer but this precious friend took me and made me a preacher. I have successfully preached without stuttering for over 30 years.
People wonder where I get what I preach from. I also wonder the same.
We all forget that it’s this great Friend that animates our mortal brain to sense and speak for an immortal God. It is impossible to know things God has freely given to us without the Holy Spirit. The Bible says;
“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 NKJV
The best preachers on earth will become the worst dummies on earth if the Holy Ghost withdraws from them. We all saw how Samson became when He withdrew from him. What could not stand him, handled and neutralized him cheaply. A woman made him do something that sent the Holy Ghost away from his life and he became ordinary.
WE ARE ONLY EXTRAORDINARY WHEN THIS GREAT PARTNER GOES ACTIVE WITHIN US.
I have seen Him show me miracles He has done in people’s lives, stirring me to call them out, and as soon as I do He moves immediately to implement what He just showed me in the spirit. That is how He sets the captive free by my hands.
I have also come to realize that He is the only friend we need before having other friends because He will guide us on who to bring into our lives.
The Holy Spirit is the missing personality in the lives of many people today. That is why they go seeking for other things to fill in the void.
They seek for drugs, sex mates, witchdoctors, god fathers, and etc. even to their destruction to fill in the void. It is impossible to replace the Holy Spirit in your life with anyone or anything; not even with an anointed man of God!
You may have a good phone that places you on social media networks, but if you do not have the holy spirit you will never connect God’s prophetic word or media for your life. You will be depending on prophets or prophetesses.
Without Him, You will live your life disconnected from His Private Communication System (PCS) for it. But with Him, you have your life’s PCS intact.
It may interest you to know that the Holy Spirit is God in the third person, and since God is not discovered, God is revealed, He alone reveals God to us.
If you, therefore, say you know God but do not have the Holy Spirit in your life, you lie. And if you claim to have the Holy Spirit in your life but are filled with the knowledge of demonic activities and what they can do instead of the knowledge of God, you lie.
When the true Holy Spirit lives in you, Christ will be known to you more than anything else on earth.
You can never know God without the Holy Spirit. If you say you are saved but do not have the Holy Spirit, you are deluded. Without the Holy Spirit, you are not truly saved.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH THAT GET US BORN AGAIN BY WHAT THE BIBLE CALLS THE SANCTIFICATION OR REGENERATION OF THE SPIRIT MAN.
Now to us preachers; if you say you are a servant of God but do not have the Holy Spirit, you are an impostor, because without the Holy Spirit you are a false witness. Sadly, many preachers either do not have Him or have lost Him.
Many others do not have the true Holy Spirit. You can recognize this by the fruits their ministries are bearing on people. They are raising people over whom hell has power over; carriers of salt, sand, water and etc. and not carriers of God.
Let me show you something else. God has two aspects of His word and revelation; God in the past and God in the present. God in the past tells us what He did, while God in the present tells us what he wants to do. It is God in the present that works miracles in our lives and pours the best of Heaven upon us.
When you remove the Holy Spirit and try to believe God, you will believe the God in the past and not the God in the present. If you do not have the now of God of the present manifesting in your life, you will be trapped in so many problems.
Our devotional text says,
“You shall receive power after this precious Friend has come upon you”.
Poverty is caused by power failure. We prosper materially because of the power to get wealth at work in us. And it is the Holy Spirit that brings that power upon us!
If the Holy Spirit is not in your life, you will lack the power to get wealth and consequently you will plug into hell to get it. That is why we have all kinds of perverted and occult practices being tapped into in some local Churches today for the sake of money.
Friend, go for the Holy Spirit and do not accepts anything that looks like Him or that is lesser than Him. He will give you the power to get wealth and led a victorious life on earth.
Do not substitute Him with anything, not even olive oil from your papa.
Child of God, if you want to safely go through the remaining part of this year then you must receive a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit from time to time.
I encourage you to make the rest of the days of the year your season of seeking a more personal and fruitful Relationship with the Holy Spirit.
The early Church sought relationship with Him by giving themselves entirely to prayers and the ministry of the word. The result was amazing; they came under His shadow and rode on His power all their lives.
You are the next of God’s list!
Stop running after men and start running after the Holy Spirit. Ask Jesus to baptize you afresh with the Holy Ghost and Fire and He will. You can start that today if you have not. The Bible says,
“now is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late!”
May your voice come to Heaven for a quick release in Jesus precious name! AMEN!!!
