TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Friday 8th October 2021)

“The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psalms 110:1-2 NKJV

We bless the name of the LORD for giving us another weekend. One of the primary assignments of Church ministry is to teach the saints where to sit in the Holy Ghost for God to make His enemies in our lives our footstools.

Because of the unique battles I have faced in life, I grew up to discover that there are places you can sit in God, for Him to be making your enemies (who are also His enemies) your footstool. Until you locate that place and take your seat there, your enemies will always be overcoming you. Consequently, you will never have rest from them.

This morning God has a proceeding word for us. Do not forget, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God at an immediate present. Proceeding words from God are the molders of destiny. God designed our lives to flourish by them.

That is why, if we live by words that proceed from our own mouths, we will be in trouble; because except the heart of a man is sanctified by the word of truth and righteousness, every word that proceeds from his mouth will cause him troubles. Many are in trouble today because of what proceeded out of their mouths.

Also if you live by what proceed from the mouth of doctors to you, you will also be stressed; especially if the report is about your health, and is not very good. If you live by what proceed out of the mouth of those who are angry or aggrieved with you unjustly, you will be stagnant in life.

If you live by what proceeds from the mouth of those who may mean well but are not in tune with the Holy Ghost, you will run into trouble waters. In this class are parents, spouses, children, teachers, sometimes preachers, fellow Christians, bosom friends, business partners and etc.

But there comes a time when you must separate between good ideas and God ideas. If you live by what proceeds from the mouth of even people you think are helpful, except they are helping you to live by what proceed from the mouth of GOD, your life will be destroyed.

There are so many people who make certain prophets God in their lives, by taking everything those prophets say as divine. That is very dangerous. Living by what proceed from the mouths of prophets of today, without confirming if it is really from the LORD using the Holy Scriptures, is very dangerous.

Except God use them as a prophetic hearing aid, living by what proceed from the mouth of human beings may never bring peace to a man’s life. You must be careful whose word you are living by, because that could be why your life is the way it is.

If you spend your days according to what proceeds from the mouth of people who offended you and refused to repent or those who hate you unjustly, you will never have peace. God wants you to spend your days according to what proceeds out of His mouth.

Talking about enemies, a man of God once said “if you do not have enemies, you are an imbecile. Only fools and worthless people do not have enemies.” And I agree with him. Indeed, if we do not have enemies it means we are not making kingdom impact. We need to wake up from spiritual slumber.

If you are pregnant with Heavenly visions and driven by eternal purposes, you will have enemies to contend with. The first thing God may grant you grace to deal with is the battle with enemies who wants what you carry aborted or destroyed.

If the Lion, the bear or Goliath had killed David, what he carried would have been destroyed. God granted him grace to deal with them. He got the personal grace (from his private mountain of the LORD) in the manifest presence of GOD.

But we need to learn how to tap that personal grace by becoming men and women who stand in the presence of the LORD not by giving an offering to some preachers as we have been made to think. There is a lot of robbery going on in what you call church on matters of enemies. A lot of enemy killing prophets have become very rich by feeding on the ignorance of troubled men and women.

We must understand that we have an Abrahamic heritage in Christ Jesus that takes care of our enemies. We only need to become men and women who stand in the presence of God to receive the personal grace to manifest that heritage. Not make some prophets our enemy killers. They will engage Meloch, the god of destruction, and bring eternal troubles upon us in the long run.

When God called Abraham, the first blessing that He spoke into his life was protection against his enemies. He said to him,

“I will bless those that bless you, and curse those who curse you.”

That was to take away the responsibility of fighting enemies from Abraham to Himself. All with the Abrahamic heritage share in this through Christ Jesus. However, life in His presence is the key to seeing it manifest in our lives.

There are people who want you dead this very moment but with this heritage, their expectations can be defeated. There are those who want your marriage, ministry, or business to fail. People of destiny cannot do without enemies. But the heritage can help us if we become men and women who stand in the presence of the LORD.

These days it has become difficult to practice the royal law of love, because of the crop of bad guys everywhere. But as believers in Christ, we have no choice. Jesus said we should love our enemies, and God Himself said that vengeance is His not ours. That is why we must depend on God all the time to be saved from our enemies and not take matters into our hands.

God’s will for us remains that our enemies do not prevail against us. The heritage is there to help us. The Bible says;

“[It is a fair decision] since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction those who distress and afflict you,” 2 Thessalonians 1:6 AMP

Hallelujah! That is exciting!!! This scripture is talking about human enemies not evil spirits. It makes it clear that it’s a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction everyone who cause us distress and afflict us. And God does it in His own way, not our own ways. That is why we do not need to pray about it all the time.

As we remain intimate with God, He will send decrees by the Hands of His Holy Spirit and release His holy angels to execute things in our lives that will make our enemies as nothing before us. The BIBLE made it clear that He will move marvelously against our enemies be making us bigger than them in all fronts.

The Psalmist revealed one of His marvelous moves against our enemies when it says;

“The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him. The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged” (Psalms 37:32-33 NKJV).

If you are in the hands of the wicked, God is saying to you this morning that He will not leave you in his hands or allow you to be condemned when you are judged. Our devotional text today contains some truths that can be seen as prophetic instructions to lean on, as we believe God for this promise to come to pass in our lives.

The first says,

“Sit at My right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.”

That was a messianic declaration revealed to David.

First, it referred to Christ and now, by extension in referred to us, His redeemed ones. The truth here is, if you can locate the right hand of God’s will for your life, in every decision you want to take, and sit there, you will not have successful human or demonic enemies to deal with wherever you go. Because God will be making them your footstool, making sure none succeeds against you.

The key therefore lies in locating the right hand of God concerning any issue of your life and allowing Him to govern your decisions.

There is another truth that is helpful in the second scriptural verse of our devotional text. It says;

“The Lord shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!”

There is so much in this scripture that covers the role of our private mountains in the mountain of the LORD’s house as taught in our ongoing school of the Spirit. But let me not touch that for now.

That makes a third day Church service a unique place to be – a place to always receive strength to rule in the midst of your enemies. Sadly, most Church services cannot help us in this respect because they are either second day or first day church services. That is why people go and return with no victory over their enemies.

You will never understand these things until you go back to what we learned yesterday about the three kinds of days in the grace dispensations and the churches that are under those days. You may also need to follow us today to fully grasp this truth.

There are certain graces God has positioned in the Church to bring the saints into this realm – the realm of sitting at God’s right hand until our earthly enemies are made our footstool. They are the apostolic and prophetic graces. All third day churches are fully governed by those graces.

I have come to discover that the basic assignment of prophetic and apostolic ministries is to help us sense the place of God’s right hand in whatever we may want to do, and impart us with grace and truth to take our seat there for our enemies to become your footstool.

If you see your enemies prevailing against you therefore in whatever you may be doing, it’s a sign that you are yet to locate that place in your walk with God! You need to sit under apostolic and prophetic ministries by content, not by titles. You need a third day church.

Child of God, Heaven does not want to see our enemies prevailing against us perpetually. God wants to make them our footstool as we sit under the LORDSHIP of Christ. We must understand that and take the proper spiritual position in the Holy Spirit to see it come to pass.

“Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.”

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret — it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.” Psalms 37:1-9 NKJV
