THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 24th October 2021)

“Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 297TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.

One of the major blessings of truth is it helps us become and stay Heaven worthy day after day. And one way it does that is by confronting us with jaw dropping insights and awe striking revelations of how things ought to be. It also helps us by revealing to us how mankind has fallen and the urgent need for God.

I remember years back, after one of those fiery recording sessions of The Grace and Truth Platform, there was a dead silence among the apostolic family of the Cry of the Spirit.

I remember laughing in my heart!

There was this part that spoke about the sexual systems of the Egyptians and Canaanites that God warned us of in Leviticus 18; I perceived that was obviously the reason for the silence. It killed the spiritual pride of many and called for the dying process of doing what pride will not want anyone to do – confess to the right ear, renounce, and repent.

It made me realize why God wanted me to record and then speak it on Radio instead of just within the family. If you want to know the details go read Leviticus chapter 18, and you will be shocked at how we destroy ourselves and put the blame on fathom spirits and so called evil altars.

So many are living on breaches created by their sexual appetite, and it’s now clear to the simple that the devil is indeed not our problems. The Bible says we have sold ourselves for nothing. We sold ourselves to devils through the Egyptians and Canaanites sex systems and abandoned God’s system.

But thankfully, the Bible also said we shall be redeemed without money.

It’s time to put on our beautiful garments and not stain or pollute our lives again. It’s time to remove the dust of perversion from our lives. Isaiah puts it this way;

“Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean Shall no longer come to you.

Shake yourself from the dust, arise; Sit down, O Jerusalem! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!

For thus says the Lord: “You have sold yourselves for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.” Isaiah 52:1-3 NKJV

THIS SCRIPTURE EXPOSED THE STUPIDITY OF THINKING THAT SEED SOWING IS THE SOLUTION TO ALL SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS.

Friend, except where that seed is the word of GOD, seed sowing is not the ultimate solution to our spiritual problems. Problems that are caused by the demons we permitted to function in our lives through the perverted sex systems, are not solved by the so called seed faith principle.

The Bible says if we sell ourselves for nothing, redemption comes without money! In other words, it will be free but not cheap.

We must be ready to pay the price of repentance. Though some preach otherwise, repentance is a daily occurrence. It simple means to change our minds and turn to the right direction – the direction of GOD’s word. Each time we receive a fresh truth it results in a change of mind in the direction of the truth; bringing us closer to the LORD.

Repentance also means “to turn to the LORD” and our devotional text says if we turn to the LORD our veils will be taken. It says;

“Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:16

Turning to the LORD is repentance. But the turning is not possible if there is no work of the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of the LORD Himself. He brings a kind of liberty that makes a turning possible.

Don’t forget what makes turning impossible is the bondage our spirits and souls are usually in. That is why He brings liberty to turn to the LORD. Then the turning brings removal of veils and transformation. The text continued with these gracious words:

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NKJV

IF WE MUST BE TRANSFORMED FROM GLORY TO GLORY, WE MUST REPENT OR CHANGE OUR MINDS FROM TIME TO TIME.

We must also turn to the LORD each time the light of God beam on our hearts and expose something sinful or wicked about us. God beams His light on our hearts to transform us from glory to glory.

Repentance is the process through which transformation takes place. But repentance is not possible if there is no encounter with TRUTH that shows us, the way and is full of life. Jesus is the way, THE TRUTH and the life. Meaning His Spirit brings TRUTH that is full of life, to show us the way.

When the word of the LORD exposes our hidden sins, sometimes it leaves us speechless. Especially of if we thought that we were alright. It throws us into deep thoughts because repentance is not possible without taking time to think deeply with the aim of making amends.

That is why deep repentance involves confession of sins, fasting and prayer. You can fast without repenting but no one can deeply repent without confession of sins in fasting and prayer. The Bible says;

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:8-10 NKJV

This scripture contains the characteristics of deep repentance.

It involves lamentations, mourning, weeping, the turning of laughter into mourning, and joy into gloom, to humble ourselves in fasting, until God sends a freshness from His throne room.

IF WE WILL LEARN TO DO THAT EACH TIME GOD SHINES A LIGHT ON OUR LIVES, THERE WILL BE NO END TO OUR LIFTING.

In the kingdom, each time God beams a light on our lives it is to clean our hearts again and again. The vision is to make it brighter and brighter. It’s therefore important that we respond with deep repentance as outlined above, so that the cleansing process can be possible.

Don’t forget, salvation ought to plug us into a stream of grace and truth that comes upon us from time to time, to remove unclean things from our lives until we become as pure in God’s sight as Heaven is in His sight. That is the essence of having a Church and a preacher Heaven can use to do all that in our lives.

Each time we deeply repent, it brings transformation. Each transformation makes us more like the LORD. The Bible says we are transformed from glory to glory into His image.

I have come to discover that each time God confronts us with His truth, and we turn to Him in deep repentance as outlined above, every curse our sins may have brought upon us will be replaced with a blessing. Our deep repentance will bring God’s active presence down into our hearts to purify it, leaving a blessing behind as it lifts.

Friend, turning in repentance is the best way to respond to a gospel truth.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY.

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”

So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.

Who knows if He will turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him — A grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God?” Joel 2:12-14 NKJV
