THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 5TH December 2021)

“Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the Lord your God, and the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 2:19 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 338TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.

It is another Sunday morning, and we want to thank the LORD for His marvelous deeds in our lives. Yes, God has been faithful to us; as we gather under the true God, in our different places of worship, we believe Heaven will kiss the earth to renew our lives.

We are going to declare that God’s kingdom come and His will be done in our lives as written in Heaven. N. C. Lewis once said, there are two kinds of people on the face of the earth. Those who bend their knee to GOD and say “thy will be done” and those who refuse to bend their knees to God, and He say to them “thy will be done”

This is so true. If we bend our knees to god in prayer and say to Him “thy will be done” His kingdom will come upon our lives and perform His will. But if we refuse to bow down our knees to the LORD, He will look at us and say “thy will be done” and all hell will let loose in our lives.

God wants a generation that is sold out to his will and ways. A people whose knees and wills are bowed to the LORD God. In our devotional today we want to spark a desire to be sold out to God both on our knees and in our wills.

There are two kinds of generation of believers in Church today. Those who bend their knees to God and say your will be done and those who do not. The statement of N.C. Lewis is really revealing. It’s not just about the world; it is also about the Church.

If you do not bow down your knees or will and say to God “Thy will be done” God will indeed look at you and say “Okay, thy own will be done”. That is when our wickedness will begin to deal with us.

IN OTHER WORDS, SINCE YOU WILL NOT ALLOW HIS WILL TO BE DONE IN YOUR LIFE, THEN LET YOUR OWN WILL BE DONE.

And trust me, our woes on earth are rooted in that – they are rooted in God looking at our stubborn wills and helplessly saying to us “Your will be done.

There is no life on the face of the earth that God has ever looked at and said “your will be done” that was peaceful after that. Israel comes to mind at this point. The Bible says, there was a day God looked at them and said;

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

“But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels.

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.” Psalms 81:10-14 NKJV

In effect God was saying to them “thy will be done” since you will not allow my own to be done in your life! From this scriptural positioned of GOD, it is clear that if God look at us and say “Your will be done” our enemies will never be defeated before us. We will never be free from our adversaries. We will be given to the will of our adversaries.

If you read the story of the exodus of the Israelites, you will discover that over 3 million people left Egypt for the Promised Land; but only 2 of that number made it to the Promised Land – Joshua and Caleb. Others could not make it because they refused to do God’s will, and God looked at them and said to them “thy will be done” since you have refused to do mine!

If God look at you and say “thy will be done” every promise He made in your life will fail, because God’s promises can only be fulfilled in our lives when we do His will after receiving the promise.

IT’S A FEARFUL THING TO LIVE A LIFE THAT IS A PRODUCT OF GOD SAYING TO US “THY WILL BE DONE.”

Trapped in that is the reason for all our woes. The reason people go to hell is because they refuse to bend their knees to God and say “Your will for my life be done.” Consequently, their will was done, and they ended up in hell.

Why are some going through hell in their marriages? They refused to bend their knees to God, especially when they were youths, and say to Him “your will be done” in the area of relationships. Consequently, their will was done and here they are today, facing so much in their marriages.

Why are many going through poverty lack and oppression? Same reason! God looked at them as said “your will be done” since they would not do His will for their finances.

Anyone going through any kind of hell for not saying to God “thy will be done” will never be free from the consequences until they trace their steps back to where they broke the divine rule and amend it. Total redemption will never come to a life that was broken for doing its own will, until he or she gets back to God’s will. We must begin to bow our knee and wills and say unto God “thy will be done” for things to become well with us!

People are poor, oppressed, depressed, and stagnated for doing things that made God to look at them and said “thy will be done.” People are dying prematurely for prioritizing their will above GOD’s will.

You find nations, families, Churches, preachers, youths, and even ministers of the gospel going from trouble to trouble for not saying unto God “thy will be done.” Some many are trapped in wars and sorrow, disappointments, and all that make life difficult.

There are so much tears, pains, and curses in the lives of many because they cannot bear the cost of saying to God “thy will be done

SO MUCH EVIL AND PREVAILING SINS FOR THE SAME REASONS!

If you look at our woes as outlined above, you will realize that everything is traceable to God painfully saying to us, “Your will be done, since you refuse to do my will.

It is important for us to understand that most times, the worst will to be done on earth is not the will of our enemies. The worst will to be done on earth is our own will. The activities that spring from our wills are the very things killing and handing us over to the will of our enemies.

I do not know what you are going through. Whatever trouble you may be going through in your marriage, finances, ministry, family, health, or career is a byproduct of your will. Because you refused to choose God’s will when it mattered; your own will was be done.

And it’s important that we stop encouraging ourselves on the wrong paths, and stop receiving prophecies that are telling us, “It shall be well”. It shall never be well until you return to God’s true will for your life.

To some, it will involve leaving a particular City, a relationship, a job, or even a marriage or a ministry. Yes, it will involve leaving that which you did in your own will.

God sent this word to you today because your pains are troubling Him on His throne. You have fasted, prayed, and served Him sacrificially but you improper positioning is killing you. Prophets and prophetesses may have given you enough prophecies, yet no Change because it’s not their prophecies that matters, but God’s will for your life that you must be sold out to.

This is time to sit and consider your ways!

God sent this word this morning to tell you that the earth is actually made of two groups of people. Those whose knees are bending to God and telling Him, “your will be done,” and those who refuse to do so, and He tells them, “Your will be done.” Which of these groups do you belong to?

I suggest you Keep the answer to yourself, because your life will reveal the answer to us. Sometimes we are quick at opening our mouths to give unrealistic responses.

On this question, our LIVES are the best testators of the kind of will we have been doing. Our lives have a way of screaming at us if we spend them doing our own will. God wants us to realize that and amend our ways this morning.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.” Psalm 106:13-15 NKJV
