TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 11TH JUNE 2024)
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, Though hail comes down on the forest, and the city is brought low in humiliation. Isaiah 32:16-19 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 162ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
This is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it. God has kept His word in our lives for each day of the year, and we remain grateful.
Talking about Christ, the Bible says,
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:” Hebrews 1:3KJV
Yes, in the brightness of His glory, and express image of His person, God in Christ, is upholding all things in existence by the word of His power. That is why we are still alive, and our world is still running. If that upholding power of God was not there, there would have been no us!!
That is why the Bible says, let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Everything that has breath is alive because of the LORD. The word of His power is responsible for our being alive. It is the very force sustaining the breath of everything that has breath.
So, let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Let all men and women praise the LORD. Let all who are breathing praise the LORD. People who praise God will not lack His power in their lives. People who allow His praise to continually be in their mouth, will see His power continually in their lives.
IF GOD’S POWER RUN YOUR LIFE DAILY, NO DARK POWER CAN OVERRUN YOUR LIFE.
If God’s power runs any aspect of your life, that aspect will be fine despite what might be happening on earth. Be it the financial aspect of your life, the marital aspect, the physiological aspect or etc., it will be just fine, because nothing that might be happening will affect it.
A major portion of our devotional text says;
“My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, Though hail comes down on the forest, And the city is brought low in humiliation.” Isaiah 32:18-19 NKJV
This is one scripture to build your faith on this season. A lot is happening; things are getting darker and darker out there. So many cannot even feed themselves any longer.
The governments of our nations seem to be heading in the wrong direction, from North to South, from East to West. The selfish interest of our politicians has taken the front burner of government policies and programs, and nothing works when selfishness drives the government.
But our lives are not in the hands of the government. Our lives are in the hands of the LORD. The word of the LORD is clear on that. It says the government of the LORD Jesus Christ is resting on us, His shoulders. The life of a people like that can not be in the hands of any government on the face of the earth.
That is why the Bible says, “that though hail comes down on the forest, and the cities we live in are brought low in humiliation, we will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. That is what I choose to believe, and that is what I counsel us all to believe.
Believe it because it is not dependent on your righteousness or faithfulness. It is dependent on God’s righteousness and faithfulness.
Your righteousness and faithfulness to God are major signs that you belong to God, and His blessings are your heritage. But the fulfillment of His word depends on His righteousness and faithfulness not ours. Ours are just fruits of our salvation, sanctification, and transfiguration in Christ.
So, trust in His faithfulness to fulfill His word in your life. Yes, trust Him! Things could be getting darker and darker, but trust Him because the LORD will keep shining His grace upon you, brighter and brighter.
YES, HE WILL HELP YOU. HIS EYES WILL NEVER DEPART FROM YOU BECAUSE YOU FEAR HIM.
So, stay on His word. Forget your woes. Let His praise continually be on your lips, let the fear for Him be in your heart, and let His power keep running your life.
If His praise remains on your lips, and righteousness remains in your heart, with a living faith in Him that has taken over your soul, His power will keep running your life, and no matter what might be happening in the city or nation you live in, especially economically, you will transform into one of the most blissful lives on earth. That is the key!
You will not need to sow a seed, give some sacrifice, raise an altar, silence anyone, be anointed with olive oil, be given holy water to drink or pray with, be served some holy communion in other to be free, use salt for deliverance prayer, or do any of those charismatic witchcraft things most preachers tell people to do.
The most blissful life on earth is a life that is run or serviced by God’s power; a life with God’s power as its power house. So, let everything that has breath, Praise the LORD. Let us not complain but praise our God. The Bible says so Long as we are joined to the living, we should live our days praising the LORD!!!
As earlier stated, people who do so, with righteousness in their hearts, and a faith that has consumed their souls, will not fail. To praise the LORD means to declare the works of the LORD. It means to affirm His works in our lives. When we do so, it unlocks God’s power upon us.
I believe the LORD has spoken to someone. As we bring this to a close, I want us to understand that there were three things that were common both in the Kingdom of David and that of his son Solomon. The three things were, Thanksgiving, Praise, and Worship.
The people usually enter the gates of the LORD’s house with thanksgiving. But when it is time to come into His courts, they had to praise Him; they had to switch from thanking Him for His works, to affirming or declaring His works.
THAT WAS WHY THEY DID NOT SING ALL THE TIME, THEY JUST SPOKE.
When God says His praise should continually be in our mouths or on our lips, with our hearts filled with righteousness, it is to make sure we live our days from His courts, the place of the anointing for surviving the earth. That is why you find the anointing or the power of God coming into your life when you praise God, or affirm or declare His works.
We have praised God in crusades and miracles broke forth. We have danced in church praising God and Heavenly things were let loose and released into our lives.
Pure praise brings God’s power down. That is why the enemy is now polluting the praise of God’s people with a filthy living and the adoption of the music and dance systems of the corrupt world.
A child of God must understand that when praise becomes polluted, it will lose the power to take anyone into the courts of our God, where power is made available. That is why righteousness and the fear of the LORD must be in our hearts while taking the praise of the LORD on our lips.
Now, in praising God, or declaring His works in our lives, sometimes we lack words to do so. But Psalm 103 is one of the many Psalms that can help us to do just that. That beautiful Psalm will be the scripture for additional meditation.
May the Eyes of the LORD not depart from you. May He sustain you and fill your life with His redeeming love. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
