TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 12TH October 2025)
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Romans 8:31-35 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 285TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
Welcome to a brand-new week. What a day to be alive. I believe His mercies will do wonders in our lives today, as we gather in corporate fellowship today. I think some of us are still alive today because of how we have been starting our weeks, in His presence.
It is from these corporate fellowships that we receive the mercy we need to be preserved from the sword of the enemy of our souls, the anger and attacks of the aggrieved, the venom of the serpents, the fires of the dragon, the snares of the wicked, the pits of hell, and the terror that walks by night or by day. The Bible says:
The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psalm 110:1-2 NKJV
When we assemble in corporate fellowship, we have come to Zion. It is a place of the rod of our strength. God has a way of giving us what it takes to survive a week when we gather at His feet or His presence in a day like this. In other words, when we start our week in His active presence, He sends the rod of our strength out of Zion, enabling us to rule in the midst of our enemies.
With that rod, we can benefit from the power of the Cross of Jesus, and watch it defeat the expectation of the wicked. This is a spiritual season of the beautification of the righteous. Corporate fellowship cannot be ignored. It is a place of commanded strength and love.
The Bible says He commanded His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. If God will love us while we were yet sinners, how much more now that His blood has washed us from filths and sin and made us a righteous seed.
THAT IS WHY OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT TODAY IS VERY SIGNIFICANT.
The Blood of Jesus speaks for us when we assemble in Zion or corporate fellowship. It activates God’s commanded love. It is the strongest evidence in the Spirit realm of God’s love for us. The Bible says:
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
So long as we remain on the paths of righteousness, nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God. It is love that keeps us from evil and all the enemy do muster against us. It is that love that frustrates the tokens of liars and make diviners mad.
It is that love that builds us and make us what God wants us to be. That is the love that makes sure no weapon formed against us prospers. It is an amazing love!!! Something that no devil can separate us from.
The only person that can separate us from the love of God is us. We are separated when we take sides with the devil and start doing his bidding. Outside that, nothing can separate us from the love of God! That is why the Bible admonishes that we keep ourselves in the love of God.
We can do things that can take us away from His love, and the early Church knew that very well. Once we are out, we will begin to experience things that are ugly without intervention from God. The prodigal son got separated and began to eat with pigs. He had to return to the Father and His love to fix his life and get back to glory days.
We are to do the same if we act foolishly and begin to see the ugly side of life.
Friend, one thing you must do for yourself the for remaining part of this year and beyond, is to take the posture of the older son in the house who never got separated. The Father would later tell him, “All that I have is yours.” But he never said that to the returnee son.
THE LIFE OF THE OLDER SON TEACHES US ONE LESSON, AND THAT LESSON IS THIS “IT PAYS TO KEEP YOURSELF IN THE LOVE OF GOD!”!
Sadly, the heretic preachers among us, who call themselves GRACE PREACHERS, do not know that. They do not tell us that it is our responsibility to keep ourselves in the love of God like the Older Son did.
They do not tell us that if we do not keep ourselves in the love of God His mercy will cease speaking for us and making way for us among the living, like it did the prodigal son when he was away from the father’s house.
If we keep ourselves in the love of God, we will enjoy His amazing grace and mercy.
We do not need a prophet to tell us how much we need God’s grace and mercy. We need God’s grace and mercy to overcome the spiritual arrows that may be shot against us in life. We need God’s grace and mercy to leave through earth and make Heaven. So, keeping ourselves in the LOVE of God like the Older Son in the story of the prodigal son did is not an option but a necessity.
Some major highlights in our devotional text this morning says:
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? …Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns?
It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
Keeping yourself in the love of God is critical to seeing this scripture made manifest in your life. If you do not make friendship with the world, do the bidding of the devil, or spend your days walking in the flesh, you will keep yourself in the love of God!
If you keep yourself in the love of God, you will enjoy the best of God. All that God has, will be yours. In other words, no good thing will He withhold from you because you are walking uprightly. He will be your Sun and shield.
YOU WILL FIND HIM SUPPLYING HIS GRACE AND GLORY TO YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT.
The Bible says:
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11NKJV
What a blessing for those who keep themselves in the love of God.
Keeping ourselves in the love of God, like the older son of the story in the prodigal son did, is one thing that preachers do not emphasize. We all know about the younger son and draw helpful inspiration from his side of the story, but we forget the older son whose side of the story teaches the body of Christ how to live in Christ.
Even when He was sad at how the Father accepted the younger one, he later came out of it when he learned. The Father also gave him the blessing of consistency. He said to him, “Son you have been always with me, and all I have is yours.”
Friend, you will enjoy things generations past only saw in the Spirit and prophesied if you are consistent in your walk with God. Yes, you will see Heaven empty herself upon you. You will see things that eyes have not seen, ears heard, or hearts conceived. Blessings and manifestations of God reserved for those who love the LORD unconditionally will become yours.
This word was sent this morning to urge us to spend the rest of our days keeping ourselves in the love of God and doing His blessed will. Amen!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:9-13 NKJV
