TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Saturday 27th February 2021)
“I will punish you terribly, and you will be ruined. You will be struck with incurable diseases and with fever that leads to blindness and depression. Your enemies will eat the crops you plant,” Leviticus 26:16 CEV
WELCOME TO THE 58th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
This is the day the LORD has made. We bless Him for taking us through the week safely and bringing us to the end of the week. Tomorrow we start another journey with our merciful Father. It will be a start with our first national broadcast on CITIZEN TV and MORNING CLOUD TV after the lockdown.
We had been on Citizen TV for over two years before then. It pleases the LORD that we return there with a word from His heart to the perishing and those being saved. Since the beginning of the year, God’s grace has been giving us the gift of life, day after day and many of us already have stories of His mercies to tell.
I guess you also have some stories to tell. For some of us, it was like, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” There were afflictions and attacks but the LORD came through for us. To Him belongs all the glory!
In our devotional today we will be sharing on God’s plan for our health. My prayer is that the Echoes of these Truths will continue in your heart even after reading the last word on today’s devotion.
There are seven aspects of life. The first is our spiritual life. It is the foundation and gravitational force of other aspects. Like the planet Pluto and the gravitational influence it has on other planets, so is our spiritual lives. It determines how other aspects of our lives turn out. The reason is because we are spirits living in bodies.
If our spiritual lives, therefore, are not healthy, it will show on other aspects of our lives. That is why God will always fix the spiritual aspect of our lives to fix the other aspects.
THE BIBLE IS FULL OF THIS PATTERN
To fix our financial lives for example, He will feed us with truths that will feed our spirits and take care of our financial lives. The same is applicable to our health lives. He will feed our spirits with Bible truths on our health to take care of the physiological aspect of our lives.
Our devotional text today exposes that there are certain sicknesses and diseases that are incurable. This KIND have become common in our days. Most of them are of natural cause while some are not. Naturally, when any part of our critical organs become damaged beyond repair due to natural course, it could lead to death. That is where only divine healing can take care of things.
Incurable diseases can be of natural or supernatural cause. This is important and worthy of attention.
When they are of a supernatural cause they do not come from the natural realm. They come from the spirit realm; the very realm we live from that is why they are very dangerous. Our devotional text says,
“I will punish you terribly, and you will be ruined. You will be struck with incurable diseases and with fever that leads to blindness and depression”.
In the dispensation of the law, whenever the word of the LORD is not obeyed, it brings an instant curse on the people. Some of these curses come from the LORD who gave them the law to obey. What we read in our devotional was a curse of breaking the law, but it confirms that certain diseases do not come from the natural plane; neither are they caused by natural phenomena. Sometimes we are told to feed properly and observe certain rules to stay healthy. I have found people who do all that but still suffer incurable disease.
Our devotional text this morning confirms that proper feeding and sound medical care sometimes do not translate into good health.
Some of the people I have been privileged to be used of God to minister His healing power to are rich people who eat well and take care of themselves properly. They eat very good food and could afford the best medical care anywhere in the world.
When the cause of sickness and disease come from a supernatural realm, medical care or proper feeding will not be able to handle it. What do we do when good food and sound medical care do not translate into sound health? What do you do when your health goes down even after good medical care and proper feeding?
THAT ITSELF IS A SIGN THAT ONE IS UNDER SPIRITUAL ATTACK.
Let’s begin with an investigation; there are certain things that expose a man to incurable diseases and sicknesses from the supernatural realm. Yes, certain acts are capable of provoking supernatural attacks on a man’s health, resulting in incurable sicknesses and diseases.
For instance, if you touch witchcraft, idolatry or Satan worship you will be afflicted with incurable diseases at some point in your life. If you are wicked, sinful, and persistently rebellious towards God and His ways, you will wake up to find yourself bedridden by this kind of attacks.
I have heard how God struck witch doctors, wicked men and women, people who attacks the anointed of God, and false prophets with incurable diseases. Personally, I have also seen cancer kill a woman because she blasphemed. Her blasphemy ran for years. I remember warning her then but she will not listen. Our ministry was young and she was attacking it calling me all manner of names.
I remember the days I spent crying before God to save me from those attacks and vindicate me. The lies where so strong that I could not defend myself. I needed God to vindicate me. But the vindication never came.
We will later part ways and I go my way, praying that God should save her from her error. Only for the repercussion to come when we have all forgotten what happened. In 2 Chronicles 21:18 God struck a King with an incurable disease for his wickedness.
Incurable diseases do come for different reasons.
I remember a political leader in my nation that we prayed for to be healed at one time and the LORD made us to understand that it was impossible. That was when I knew that when you interact with demons or get involved in demonic activities by covenant, a time will come that the same forces will strikes you with incurables.
YOU WILL BECOME A LAWFUL CAPTIVE AND ANYONE WHO TRIES TO HELP WITHOUT AN IMMEDIATE MANDATE FROM GOD WILL BE STRUCK.
This does not only happen when you get yourself involved with demons. It also happens when you were involved in very wicked acts. Things like breaking the hearts of men or women with terrible betrayal can bring incurable upon anyone.
Snatching people’s husbands or wives, breaking marriages or destroying ministries God is using to save souls, sleeping with anointed men of God, not because you fell into sin with them but because of an evil intent to destroy their ministries, having sex with blood relatives; uncles, aunties, mothers, daughters and etc. telling terrible lies, and many other related things can bring incurables upon people.
When that happens the only way out is to turn genuinely to God, and repent of all your sorceries, wickedness and sins. Then, receive Jesus into our lives and get baptized in the Holy Spirit. If we do, we may be saved and permanently returned to sound health. I used the word may because I have seen cases where people repented but they were not granted life to continue on this side of eternity. They just went home to be with the LORD!
Child of God I have been in ministry since childhood. It is very difficult to save some lawful captives! When incurables are caused by the things mentioned above, the people become lawful captives. Saving them must be properly guided by the Holy Spirit, else your peace or even life will go in exchange of theirs.
From what I would later grow to discover, incurable diseases and sicknesses are from two supernatural realms – the realm of God and that of Satan. The realm of God strikes to judge sin, redeem souls, promote divine will, or take away evil. But that of the enemy strikes to kill, to steal, and to destroy. The purposes are not the same.
God judges with incurables a times because He is a just God who cannot justify the wicked or forsake the righteous. Sometimes He will strike the wicked with incurables to let the righteous go away from his hands the way He did in Egypt. We must understand the severity of our God. If you watch, there have been no guy or lesbian who have died the death of the righteous.
MOST ARE MANAGING TERRIBLE THINGS IN THEIR LIVES. I KNOW MANY WILL EITHER BE SCARED OF THIS OR DENY IT COMPLETELY, BUT THAT IS THE TRUTH.
There is something called “wormwood” in scriptures. It is God’s temporal judgment on sin and wickedness. Some people who are lying helplessly in our Hospitals are under wormwood, while others are under satanic attacks. Only the mercy of the LORD can save one whose health has come under wormwood or satanic attack.
When the health of a man starts going down as a consequence of the spiritual, the first thing to do is to engage God in repentant prayers. Confession of sins to the right ears will be necessary and genuinely repenting will be paramount. If you play self-righteousness you will be dead. If you also engage just medical science or witch doctors, you will be gone.
The throne of God remains the only place for answers in such moments. God would have to convict the suffering of their sins, iniquity or trespasses. Sadly, sin can easily be dealt with for healing to come but iniquity and trespasses are very difficult to deal with.
How do you help a man who sacrifices lives to be rich and now wormwood has come? Except all the riches are no more, he will never recover. The demons that gave the money will argue for his death and succeed if God’s prophetic authority is not engaged standing on the person’s repentance, renunciation and confession.
Now you know why Zacchaeus had to give away all the wealth he acquired through stealing. It is the avert the curse of ding such things. It can destroy a man’s health. If he was told what we usually hear from today’s preachers by Christ, then he would have suffered wormwood even after joining the church.
If the cause of your problem is your sin or persistent unfaithfulness, you stand a better chance to be confronted by His Holy Spirit and brought to repentance if you engage God in genuine personal repentance.
I AM NOT SAYING REMORSE BUT REPENTANCE.
Sadly, repentance is sometimes difficult to come by at such moments because you will need a word from God that will confront you of your iniquity and trespasses and tell you what to do. Such words are most times prevented from getting to the captive by walls constructed by men around them. But if they can get to them and the people genuinely repent and renounce things, God will take away their sickness or disease.
There are so many things on this subject that we cannot state down on a brief devotional like this. But I trust the Holy Spirit to take these truths from here and lead you into all other truths about the subject of divine healing and health.
As you embrace this great day, I want you to understand that only God’s mercy can deal with an illness that is from the supernatural realm. It is therefore important that we know how to engage His mercy through deep and thorough repentance.
God presented “confession of sin” and “righteous prayers” as a means of engaging His mercy to work for us in this respect, if there is deep repentance and most times with restitution. He said in His word;
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16 NKJV
Time for application of truth!
