TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Monday 31st May 2021)
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the LORD in the air. And thus we shall always be with the LORD.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 151ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
We thank God for giving us another day and for keeping us alive. It is His Spirit that has made us and His breathe that is giving us life. The Spirit of God is responsible for the gift of life. Sadly, I and many others who will be sincere to themselves, sometime use this gift wrongly.
Many of us look forward to a better future and pleasant expectation that holds no eternal significance in life. But the entire earth and its inhabitants is moving towards the day the prophecy of our devotional text will be fulfilled, yet many are not ready.
We are all individually moving towards the day the LORD Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout. The Bible says it will be with the voice of the Archangel. Not the voice of the Holy Spirit. The voice of the Holy Spirit would have complete its assignment by then and stepped aside for Christ to use another voice in descending.
The major assignment of the voice of the Holy Spirit today, is to speak to us through the voice of the Bible, and get every human who will heed and respond to Him positively, ready for that eventful day that is coming. His job is to put us in Christ and retain us in Him until He descend from Heaven.
The truth is, when He would be descending, many of us would have died and get buried. In other words, some of us would have fulfilled our days and died by then. But we must die in Christ to be resurrected to meet Him in the air when He comes. We must not die in sin, iniquity, or trespass.
For many on planet earth, death is closer to them than the day of Christ’s coming. The Bible says it is appointed unto man to die once and after that judgment. Over the years, death has proven to be what we must get ready for not necessarily Christ coming.
Getting ready for death involves being in relationship with Jesus Christ. It involves spending our earthly days in Christ not in sin, iniquity or trespass.
Like I have always said, God placed the Holy Spirit to help us do just that by speaking to us through the voice of the Bible and any local Church or pastor standing in the truth of the Bible.
YES, HE USES ONLY THOSE STANDING ON THE TRUTH OF THE BIBLE BECAUSE MANY ARE STANDING ON THE DECEPTION OF THE LAST DAYS.
Sadly, so many Churches that many attend cannot be used by the Holy Spirit to get them ready for the next life. They cannot be used because the leaders there are not in Christ, hence not standing in the truth of the Bible. Consequently, such places have become spiritual prison yards and a habitation of strange birds.
One of the many things Christ is doing today is to pull people out of such places be exposing the things happening there. Except you are blind, there is so much witchcraft in so many so called local churches today. That is why such places are described biblically as habitations of strange birds.
This morning we shall be continuing with passages from the book OVERCOMING WITCHCRAFT BY THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER. God wants us free from all kinds of witchcraft. He wants every trace of it eliminated form our lives.
It is His righteous desire to us free and dedicated to serving Him in spirit and in truth. We will be picking up from where we stopped yesterday. I believe the LORD will bring a fresh word to you as we journey through the excerpts and explanations that comes in between.
The most significant thing to do today is to be tuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit. As earlier stated, the voice of the Holy Spirit does come to us through the voice of the scriptures and pages of books written to help us understand certain Bible truths.
The book “OVERCOMING WITCHCRAFT BY THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER” was written to help us understand Bible truth about witchcraft. As you have seen so far, it does not contain the depths of Satan taught in our present day schools of deliverance or in churches that conduct what they call deliverance.

NOW, WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES GOD FURIOUS AT PEOPLE?
What makes God furious is wickedness in the heart of men. The Bible says God is angry with the wicked every day. And that if they do not turn back from their wickedness God will sharpen His sword and bend His bow and make ready to shot.
The Bible makes it clear that He will prepare for Himself instruments of death, and make ready His arrows into fiery shafts. Read this;
“Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made.
His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.” Psalms 7:14-17 NKJV
May this be said of your enemies!
It is the fury of God that pushes the wicked into the very pit they dig for others. It is the fury of God that makes sure their trouble and violent dealing come down on the crown of their own heads.
The wicked here, among other workers of iniquity, refers to witches and wizards because they are governed by the spirit of wickedness.
The devil may have instruments of destruction but GOD has instruments of our deliverance and preservation. Sometimes these instruments are deployed as instrument of mass destruction in the camp of our enemies to set us free from their works.
When God is furious, He moves to stop the wicked. When He moves to stop the wicked, everything including the devil himself can become instruments of war in His hands.
SOME IN OUR GENERATION ARE YET TO SEE THE GREATNESS OF THIS GOD THAT IS WHY WE MAKE WITCHES A THING OF CONCERN IN OUR LIVES.
If we do not know who is for us, we will always be afraid of who is against us! God’s written judgment on witchcraft is that it be eliminated by his fury not ours. Paul the apostle wrote to the Church at Thessalonica saying,
“[It is a fair decision] since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction those who distress and afflict you,
And to [recompense] you who are so distressed and afflicted [by granting you] relief and rest along with us [your fellow sufferers] when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in a flame of fire, “2 Thessalonians 1:6-7 AMP
Though Paul was talking about the final judgment of God on all forms of wickedness against the Church, we can see how He feels when He judges witchcraft in this scripture. The Bible made it clear that He sees it as “…a fair decision, and a righteous thing.
So the first strong reason you see that gets our GOD into action, the action of executing judgment against witchcraft is His dislike for it and fury against it. He is so furious at it that he has written judgments against it. He eliminates it to fulfill His pleasure or will.
That brings us to the second strong reason for divine judgment on witchcraft.
(2). TO DO HIS PLEASURE: God executes judgment on witchcraft basically to do His pleasure. That is the second strong reason. The written judgment is still divine elimination. He said through Isaiah the prophet,
“All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; He shall do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.” Isaiah 48:14 NKJV
Ancient Babylon was the first headquarters of witchcraft on the face of the earth. That was where Nimrod and his mother ruled and reigned from. So when you read the Bible saying that God will do His pleasure against Babylon, it was a coded term that refers to witchcraft and other related forms of wickedness.
GOD WAS SIMPLE SAYING, “I WILL DO MY PLEASURE AGAINST WITCHCRAFT.” AND THAT PLEASURE IS DIVINE ELIMINATION.
The Bible says,
You were nothing more than a prostitute using your magical charms and witchcraft to attract and trap nations.
But I, the Lord All-Powerful, am now your enemy. I will pull up your skirt and let nations and kingdoms stare at your nakedness. I will cover you with garbage, treat you like trash, and rub you in the dirt. Nahum 3:4-6 CEV
This is a prophecy that was released by Nahum against Nineveh.
Again it is connected to God’s pleasure to eliminate witchcraft. It further tells us that God is the number one enemy of all witches and wizards on the face of the earth. He said in the prophecies of this prophet “I, the Lord All-Powerful, am now your enemy.”
You see the revelation of that name, Jehovah, again in the prophecy – the LORD, All-powerful. You see Him pulling up the skirt and letting the nations stare at the nakedness of Nineveh because of its witchcraft activities.
Exposure, shame, and reproach are usually some of the things God cast on witches and wizards in their days of judgment. The last pleasure of the LORD against witchcraft will be done at the consummation of all things. That was revealed in the book of Revelation.
All these things tell us one thing. It tells us that, the fury of the LORD is driven by the pleasure of the LORD. In other words, His fury is propelled by the righteous or eternal desire to do His pleasure, which is ultimately our well being and peace.
In the days of Noah, His fury so burned against the witches and wizards of that generation that he sent a worldwide flood and wiped away the entire human race from the face of the earth.
IT SEEMS GOD WAS SO FURIOUS THAT HE FORGOT NOAH IN THE ARK.
The scriptures literally said,
“Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.” Genesis 8:1 NKJV
When God becomes furious He abandons people, and most times changes His mind concerning them. But because Noah found grace in His side by reason of his righteousness, God remembered him.
The fury of God on the generation of Noah was kindled by the wickedness of that generation. It was not just sin and iniquity that they were involved in, it was graphic wickedness precipitated by the angels God sent to teach men righteousness, who later fell as explained in the prologue of this book.
The Bible indeed did not give us graphic details of the kind of black witchcraft that characterized that world but the historic books of the Jews did. Wickedness has a way of kindling the fury of God and destroying itself with its own fire.
That is why I do not subscribe to the fall-down-and-die hate driven prayer thing in dealing with witchcraft. God’s fury and the fire in wickedness, is more than any fall-down-and-die hate driven prayer the Church can muster.
The Bible says we should love our enemies. Though difficult in the flesh, but if we yield to the Holy Spirit and love them as God’s word says, whatever they do against us will kindle God’s fury against them or bring out a fire from within them to destroy them. The Scriptures says,
“If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for so you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” Proverbs 25:21-22 NKJV
From this scripture, it is clear that returning hate for hate is one way to free any witch or wizard from God’s judgment and fury.
IT IS ONE WAY TO PRESERVE THEIR LIVES FORM THE FIRE THAT WOULD HAVE COME OUT OF THEM TO CONSUME THEM.
The truth is, if you want God to do His pleasure on any witch or wizard that is against you, do not return fire for fire. Love them and then watch God destroy them. The Bible says your love will be used by God as a platform to pour the coals of fire upon them.
Meaning, any evil they may do against you, because of the good you did for them, a fire will proceed from them or from God to destroy them. The Bible says
“Whoever rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from his house” (Proverbs 17:13 NKJV).
The only reason we do not see God’s written judgment on witches and wizards executed on our behalf is the presence of the witchcraft software in our lives (We are going to de-mystify that much later in this book). In some cases, you find people engaging the god of destruction instead through their hate driven prayers, getting the results they desire but coming under the curse of blood.
If you carry the witchcraft software in your life, even the good you may do to your enemies will not be used to kindle the fire of God’s fury against them if they key into witchcraft to destroy your life.
A Witchcraft software makes one a witch or wizard by default. And if a witch or wizard moves against a witch or wizard by default, God cannot engage Himself in such fights. That is why you see good people perish by the works of witches and wizards. But God has decreed His marvelous helps for us, that is why this book is in your hands.
