TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Tuesday 28th September 2021)
“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.
“Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.” Isaiah 48:17-18 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 271ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
It’s a good thing to give than thanks to the LORD, the only one who is ever mindful of us. He takes care of the smallest details of our lives that is why the larger picture is looking glorious. Glory to His great name for all His marvelous deeds!
One of my best scriptures in the Bible reads;
“man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God.”
My life is a testimony that we only survive via what comes from the mouth of GOD. I am so glad that the statement did not come from a theologian or a religious person, it came from God Himself. That is why I hold it so dear.
People who receive the proceeding word from the LORD on daily bases, will never be consumed by whatever proceed from the mouth of the evil one. In the midst of any storm, His word will come in to calm everything the way Christ did when He was here.
In the midst of gross darkness, His word will come in to shine the light. In the midst of moral decadence and integrity failure among Church leaders, His word will come in to show us the standard to bear. In the midst of great compromise of the faith, His word will come in to keep us contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
That is how He manifest as an immediate present help in time of trouble.
You see, when God speaks, He does not speak to the body of man, He speaks the Spirit of man. If your spirit has been cultivated to walk with Him, it will always pick it at any time, in any place, and under any circumstances. It is therefore important that we keep a cultivated spirit so that we will always receive a proceeding word from Him, especially in time of trouble.
ONE MAJOR WAY THE LORD CULTIVATES OUR SPIRITS IS BY FEEDING IT WITH THE WORD OF THE LORD THROUGH THE IMPARTATION OF SOUND DOCTRINE.
So when God said,
“man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth.”
He was revealing to us what the human spirit needs to be cultivated and stay alive in Christ Jesus (even after natural death).
Yes, there is life after death. Our human spirits need words that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD to be made healthy enough to lead a life that will get it to Heaven when we die. But there is more to that word!
When GOD says
“man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth”
He was also telling us that every word that proceeds from the LORD will transmit a life outside the natural plane of human life – the very life of God – into our lives. That is the life that shapes us and make us what God wants us to be.
You can now see why the devil love us paying attention to dead sermons. A dead sermon will not transmit God’s kind of life into its listeners. Dead preaching may be lively but not life giving.
Sadly, most lively preaching today that makes people give standing ovation to the preachers are not life giving. A life giving preaching or teaching is one that transmit the life of God into the hearts of those listening. It usually results in transformation of moral lives.
Do not attend a Church with lively messages that are not life giving. You will never come alive in the Spirit of GOD and stay gloriously alive in Christ on planet earth if you do. You will become spiritually weak, malnourished and eventually live an earthly life that is full of sin, moral decay or even misery.
I have come to discover that the healthiest people on earth are not those who eat the best food. The healthiest people on earth are people who feed daily on the proceeding word. They will be healthy, spirit soul and body. That is what GOD says. It is important we His word.
God feeds our spirits because it is with the spirit man that we commune with God, and with the soul we assimilate what we get through the communion. It is from the soul the body receives the instruction to carry out the execution of what is assimilated.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT GOD DESIGNED LIFE TO SPRING FROM WITHIN.
He never designed life to spring from without. That is why the Bible says in proverbs 4:23
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (NKJV).
The best way to keep our hearts is not by shutting ourselves away from the world. That could help, but the best way to keep our hearts is by filling it with what GOD created it to be fed with – the word of GOD.
The heart, within context, refers to the spirit of man. It is in the heart or spirit of man that all divine activities take place. Then they are communicated or transmitted from the spirit to the soul, and then the body. The body is designed to carry out whatever the spirit and the soul transmit to its senses; either good or bad.
Why did God create man that way? The reason is simple; man was originally created to outsource Heaven to the earth. Though his body was created from the ground or the earth, his spirit (which is the real man) came from God. In other words, the real or inner man was outsourced from God or Heaven.
His primary responsibility was to bring things in Heaven to the earth as written in Heaven. That was how he named the animals. He sourced their names from Heaven where he came from, to the earth where he was placed by God, and God did not change any of the names because all names corresponded with the names God gave those animals in the Heavenly realm.
The Bible says,
“Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.” Genesis 2:19 NKJV
Whenever you live a life that is not outsourced from God or Heaven, you malfunction and become miserable. Man successfully outsourced his earthly life from Heaven until the fall. That is why sin is very terrible.
After the fall, man was disconnected from God and could no longer outsource his earthly life from Heaven. He began to outsource it from the earthly and satanic realms; resulting in all kinds of crisis on earth. In other words, his spirit started outsourcing his earthly life from the earthly and satanic realm.
THOUGH HE CAN CREATE CALAMITY TO JUDGE OR DESTROY EVIL, GOD IS SO GOOD THAT NO EVIL CAN PROCEED FROM HIM.
Even the suffering of Job did not proceed from Him. It proceeded from the devil. He only allowed it so that it can function as a burial process for the New Life He had planned for him to spring forth.
I want you to understand that when you see a man suffering and living a very bad and sinful life, his spirit is outsourcing something from another realm outside Heaven, into his life. That is why the Bible says we should keep our spirits (heart) with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.
If our spirits are reconnected back to Heaven and are made to feed on what proceeds from God’s mouth, there is no limit to what GOD will be doing through us. That is the only way we can go back to the kind of life Adam lived before the fall; a life of outsourcing his earthly life from Heaven.
A major highlight in our devotional text this morning says;
“Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.”
This scripture is one of the lamentations of the almighty in the Bible. We shared earlier that when you see a man going through terrible stuff in life, living a Godless life, and finding no peace, it’s a sign that his spirit is outsourcing a life outside Heaven to him.
God is saying to us in this scripture that no matter what may be going on in our lives, if we heed to His commandments or proceeding word, it will connect our spirits back to the Heavenly realm. In the Heavenly realm there is no war. There is just peace! So if our spirits are connected back to the Heavenly realm, peace will begin to come into his lives like a river. Hallelujah!
What is the message this morning? The message is simple; God never designed that our earthly lives be outsourced from the earth or demonic realm. God designed that our earthly life be outsourced from Heaven.
We malfunction spiritually, and come under intense hardship, curses, satanic attacks and total disharmony in all aspects of life when our earthly lives are not outsourced from Heaven.
In other words, if our earthly lives are not Heavenly governed, there will be no peace in our lives. And God’s way of returning us back to that Heavenly governed life is by feeding our Human spirit (the man in us) with what proceed out of His mouth.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;
“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.
“The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him, but their fate would endure forever. He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.” Psalms 81:13-16 NKJV
