TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 1ST March 2022)
“Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.” Psalm 15:1-5 KJV
WELCOME TO THE 60TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE
Today, we begin our journey into another set of days classified as the third month of the year. God has kept us alive for the first two months of this year and now He has brought us to the third month.
It may interest you to know that God does not keep people alive for nothing. God keeps people alive for something; something prophetic, apostolic, or spiritual. Each time you sleep and wake up, let that come to your mind.
Something prophetic is that which we are born to fulfill on earth. Something apostolic is the course we are expected to run or take pursuing it. Something spiritual is the walk and talk with God we are expected to maintain in pursuing why we are here on earth.
You are alive because of something prophetic, apostolic and spiritual God has purposed for your life, and you are expected to fulfill it before your days will be over.
These daily devotionals are to help you fulfill it within the days appointed for you by GOD.
Yes, God is using this platform to help us fulfill why we are here according to His word, following the course He has designed, and maintaining an effective walk and talk with Him.
One of the major walks and talk to maintain with the LORD is a life of Righteousness, Purity and Holiness.
THE WORDS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, PURITY AND HOLINESS SOUNDS ALIKE BECAUSE OF THE ONE THING THEY ALL HELP US TO ACHIEVE; A CONSECRATED CHRISTIAN LIFE.
Sadly, many of us are not living consecrated Christian lives. We have lost our consecration to sin, iniquity and trespass. But God wants our consecration back and intact, hence these devotionals.
Last month our prayer fire was the focus, this month restoration or reinforcement of our consecration will be the focus, because prayer without consecrated living will yield no results in a man’s life.
So, starting from this moment, it is going to be a 31-day journey of truth on matters of Righteousness, purity and Holiness; the three major catalyst of consecrated living. Get ready, get ready, get ready. It is time to come into Christianity as defined by our Bible fathers.
Personally, am excited about this because I really need to get back to the first consecrated life I lived long before getting married.
Wait a minute! Someone may be asking “is he walking away from marriage?” No! No! No!
You see, Marriage is sweater when couples lead high level consecrated Christian lives. That is when God fills every detail of it with His precious Holy Spirit, and make it smell with a Heavenly fragrance.
Actually, some couples really need to start leading high level consecrated Christian lives to sweeten their marriages instead of attending marriage seminars and endless counseling sessions.
Most marriages break down for lack of divine presence nothing else; and divine presence is a child of the Holy Spirit inhabiting every detail of that marriage due to consecrated Christian living.
So, this month will be a blessing for married couples as well, as they respond to the word of the LORD on consecrating their Christian lives and bringing the Spirit of God to inhabit every detail of their marital lives.
It is going to be a good bye to marital problems for couples who will take these devotionals seriously. A lot of couples no longer need a counseling session or a marriage seminar, they just need to clean up their lives individually and peace will be restored to their marriages.
When we are filthy in spirit, we will never lead peaceful marriages. In fact, there are two things that creates war in marriages, the filthiness of the flesh and the filthiness of the spirit. Not demons as your deliverance ministers present to you. Not even curses, because they have been defeated on cross of Calvary.
IT IS WHEN THERE IS FILTHINESS IN OUR SPIRITS AND OUR FLESH THAT DEMONS FIND WHAT TO ACT ON TO DESTROY OUR MARRIAGES.
That is why once there is the filthiness of the spirit and the filthiness of the flesh in a marriage, that marriage is gone. No prayer can sustain it. Except the couples move over to the Threshing floor and begin to live their marital lives from there.
A word on Righteousness, Purity and Holiness is to take us to the Threshing floor of the purity of the flesh and the purity of the spirit. It is when we are pure in spirit and in our flesh that we will see God breaking out and sustaining our marriages; and not only our marriages but other aspects of our lives.
Except you are in co habitation, or in an illegal union by God’s definition, consecrating your Christian life should not translate into walking away from your marriage. I need to point that our very clearly to over spiritual believers who even refuse their spouses affection because they are consecrating.
For those in co-habitation, consecrating a Christians life should translate into moving that marriage from cohabitation to a marriage in God’s design. And for those in illegal joining, consecrating a Christian life should move that marriage from an illegal joining to a proper joining by God’s definition.
However, both sets of improper marriages will require work by both couples to make them proper. One couple cannot be willing and the other not. It will not work, and it does not work that way.
Any who is not willing to cooperate with the word of the LORD has declared war against the LORD of the word, KNOWINGLY or UNKNOWINGLY. And none of us can be marriage to anyone who is at war with the traditions and standards of God almighty.
God forbids us marrying such people. That was why His word came to the church in the wilderness saying;
“When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are about to enter and occupy, he will clear away many nations ahead of you: the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. These seven nations are greater and more numerous than you.
When the LORD your God hands these nations over to you and you conquer them, you must completely destroy them. Make no treaties with them and show them no mercy.
YOU MUST NOT INTERMARRY WITH THEM. DO NOT LET YOUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS MARRY THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS, for they will lead your children away from me to worship other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and he will quickly destroy you. Deuteronomy 7:1-4 NLT (emphasis mine)
WITH SCRIPTURES LIKE THIS IN THE BIBLE, I THINK I BETTER STAY SINGLE THAN BE JOINED TO WRONG PEOPLE IN MARRIAGE.
I will not want to be under an atmosphere where the anger of the LORD is burning for being joined to the people He forbids His sons and daughters to be joined to in marriage. People who are not ready to align with His word and consecrate their lives.
So, if you are married, make up your mind to follow the word of the LORD this month and consecrate your life so that your marriage will begin to work. Do not say, you are not the problem and begin to wait on who you say is the problem to consecrate. You both must journey along with the LORD this month and consecrate.
It will not just be a blessing to the married, it will be a blessing to all who call upon the name of the LORD because many of us have desecrated our garments with terrible sins, we are walking about either naked in the spirit or with filthy spiritual garments.
Very few of us are really okay because of a constant check GOD helps us to carry out from time to time. I remember a dream I had where I saw myself lying on excreter. I knew that was a warning of an approaching life of sin; which was either on its way or has arrived. I woke up and began a fresh season of consecration.
I don’t know if God has shown you anything about your spiritual life. God only talks to His true Children not fakes. If you are genuine, He will always come to reveal to you something to work on so long as your walk and talk with Him is concern.
WE ARE ALWAYS WORKING ON SOMETHING BECAUSE WE WANT TO BE PERFECT JUST AS HE IS PERFECT.
The Bible says;
“But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48 NLT
It is to fulfill this scripture that the Holy Spirit was given to replace the use of anointing oil. That is why when you check those who say we cannot be perfect, you find many of them using anointing oil in prayer or other extra scriptural devices. The Holy Spirit is the chief coordinator of perfection. He is going to guide us this month on these matters.
Child of God, if you want to live a peaceful life in time and eternity by God’s definition of peace, you must lead a consecrated Christian life. A life of Righteousness, Purity and Holiness must become your desire.
Sadly, so many of us who claim born again lead very desecrated Christian lives. We commit all manner of sins and still hope Heaven will be our home. But our apostolic fathers never lived the kind of Christian lives we are living today.
On fact, one of them wrote saying;
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
“And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 1 Peter 1:15-17 KJV
Friend, You determine your eternal destiny by yourself. I determine my eternal destiny by myself. Not God. He has given us all that will help. It’s now left to us. It’s our decisions that are in charge now.
It is how we both pass our time of journey on this planet earth that will determine if we will spend eternity in hell or Heaven. Let no one deceive you!
Let the absence of an immediate consequence of sin not deceive you, and do not deceive yourself by misunderstanding God’s mercies on you when you sin. God’s mercies are to bring us to repentance not to keep us in repetition of sins.
The scripture admonished us to spend our time here in Righteousness, by walking in purity and maintaining a life of Holiness. This 31-day journey will help us in achieving just that. That brings us to our devotional text!
It says;
This scripture shows us why a life of consecration must be added to a life of prayer for the power of God to begin to cause us to rise on earth.
It asked a very important question. It says who shall abide in the Tabernacle of the LORD? Who shall dwell in His holy hill? It did not say a prophet or an apostle or a pope. It says those who lead consecrated lives. Then it listed some of the things that you will see in their lives.
Another translation puts the same scripture this way;
“Lord, who may go and find refuge and shelter in your tabernacle up on your holy hill?
Anyone who leads a blameless life and is truly sincere. Anyone who refuses to slander others, does not listen to gossip, never harms his neighbor, speaks out against sin, criticizes those committing it, commends the faithful followers of the Lord, keeps a promise even if it ruins him, does not crush his debtors with high interest rates, and refuses to testify against the innocent despite the bribes offered him—such a man shall stand firm forever” Psalm 15:1-5 LT
This translation puts that scripture in a contemporary sense of the word. It tells us what God really meant when He inspired those gracious words thousands of years ago.
I don’t think I need to explain anything further. If you read it over and over again, you will know few of the characteristics of people who are sold out to leading a consecrated Christian life.
If you understand what the Bible says about the Tabernacle of the LORD and His holy hill, you will understand why people are suffering and going through a lot in life. You will also understand why a consecrated Christian life is the only way up there.
Yes, you will understand that it is when we live our earthly lives in the Tabernacle or covering of the LORD’s presence on earth that we will not be struggling with the works of the evil one (example – curses, premature dead, marital problems, persistent spiritual attacks, financial hardship, incurable diseases and etc.), and it is when we die living in God’s holy hill in the Spirit realm that we will make Heaven. And all these things are only possible if we lead consecrated Christian lives.
I pray that as we embrace each day of this 31 days, starting from today, we will all heed to the call to a consecrated Christian life, coming from the Throne Room of God this month.
May we use all the truths the LORD will expose to us to open the gates of our lives up to Him so that He can come in as the King of glory, and purifier of the sons of Levi in Jesus precious name! Amen and amen!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY
“The earth belongs to God! Everything in all the world is his! He is the one who pushed the oceans back to let dry land appear.
Who may climb the mountain of the Lord and enter where he lives? Who may stand before the Lord?
Only those with pure hands and hearts, who do not practice dishonesty and lying.
They will receive God’s own goodness as their blessing from him, planted in their lives by God himself, their Savior.
These are the ones who are allowed to stand before the Lord and worship the God of Jacob.
Open up, O ancient gates, and let the King of Glory in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, invincible in battle. Yes, open wide the gates and let the King of Glory in.
Who is this King of Glory? The Commander of all of heaven’s armies!” Psalm 24:1-9 LT
