TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 27TH AUGUST 2023)
“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:8-10 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 239TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS
It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD, for bringing us to another week in our year of signs and wonders. Let us thank Him for the blood in our veins, the air in our lungs, the life we see, and the days ahead of us.
We live in days the Bible foretold; days that prophecy said the mystery of God will be finished. No believer in our generation can afford to be ignorant. We live in days when God is unveiling things that were hidden for our age and time.
One of the major reasons for this outpouring of scriptural revelation knowledge, is to arm believers to be able to deal with the gross darkness that characterize our seasons.
We live in seasons of hyper deception. Seasons where the enemy is putting on all that is Christlike, in terms of power and miracle working, to recruit believers into his dark army.
Sadly, many have been recruited already. But by God’s mercies, it’s been our year of Schooling in the things of God, and Heaven has been smiling on us with fresh truths from the throne room every morning on this platform. One area that we need to visit again this morning is the area of finances.
We need to be schooled on how to work out financial miracles in our walk with God!
In God’s plans He wants every of His Child to be able to work miracles instead of depending on some prophets and prophetesses. He designed the Christian life to produce miracles for whoever lives the life. If you are not therefore working out miracles as a child of God, it means the life you are living might not be a Christian life. Or it may be a defeated one. The Bible says,
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18 NKJV
God designed the Christian life to leave miracles as a trail. He never designed it to follow miracles. That is why those who are following miracles, are ending up in the mouth of the dragon. They are living contrary to their divine order.
Child of God, if you say you are born again, miracles should be following you. You should not be the ones following miracles. You should not be the one running after this man of God, or the other man of God for miracles. If you have a pastor who is teaching you to depend on his prayer for a miracle, he is the wrong man to call spiritual authority.
IT WILL BE FATAL TO CALL HIM FATHER, BECAUSE HE IS NOT FATHERING YOU. HE IS EMASCULATING YOU!
Fathering will involve the planting of seeds into the life of Sons. It will involve making them fruitful in the things of God. And you are not fruitful if you still depend on your pastor for miracle prayer! He must train you to work in miracles yourself!
One major miracle that you must learn to work in as a believer is financial miracles. Time to stop depending on the robbers you call prophets! Time to start walking in financial miracles yourself.
You must gain spiritual dependence when it comes to miracle matters, else you will be ruined. You see, if all the believers who are running after men and women of God for miracles, knew how to work miracles themselves, they would not be drowning in the pool of spiritual slavery.
I have come across countless active and ex church goers, who have been initiated into dark powers, because of their spiritual dependency on those they considered men and women of GOD for deliverance and miracles. There are those who were passed through deliverance rituals, who can no longer amount to anything in life.
The so-called prophets or servants of God who prayed for them, neutralized them completely. Friend, God wants you to walk in financial miracles yourself, and that is possible if you have a measure of the Spirit.
There is one teaching that have been used to seduce God’s people into falling into the trap of taking care of the greed and covetousness of certain men and women of God, because they used it to promise them financial miracles, blessings or deliverance. That teaching is the doctrine of tithing.
I did a three-hour teaching on that in 2017, and the word is still fresh and solid. I advise that you request for it. It is titled; “THE GLORY OF THE COVENANT OF TITHING.” It is so sad that some respected preachers have even come up with a terrible lie that if you do not tithe, you will not make Heaven.
The threat around tithing, has fostered so much ignorance, and reduced so many into cash cows. It has made many not to know that tithing is an act of worship that we give on the platform of covenant relationship with God, not on the platform of the law of Moses, or the threat of our pastors, prophets, and etc.
MEANING, TITHING IS NOT FOR THOSE WITH NO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
All who ever gave tithes had relationship with God. It is when you tithe on the platform of a covenant relationship with God, that it becomes something you do with joy and a sense of responsibility. That is when it will bless you with all that the LORD promised.
The word tithe means a tenth. In Bible days, Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils he got from war, not all he had. Meaning, tithing is not by force but by revelation. Jacob gave God a tenth of the prosperity that came upon him while serving in Laban’s house. He never gave tithe before then. Meaning, you do not tithe if you do not have a job or a means of living.
The Israelites gave a tenth of all they got from their farmlands. Meaning, if you have the faith, give a tenth of all God place in your hands.
What these men who tithed in the past did, laid a foundation of stewardship for us. We are to give a tenth of all the profit we make in our businesses, what we earn from our daily activities and even much more, depending on our revelation and faith.
The vision of tithing in the days of Abraham was to honor Melchizedek, in the days of Jacob was to fulfill a promise made to God, and in the days of Israel, it was to take care of the priest, the poor in the nation, and make provisions available in the house of God for the smooth running of things.
Today, tithing is basically to finance the gospel, and anything that is getting us or other souls saved from eternal damnation. That is why we are to tithe in the ministry of the servant of God who is feeding us, with rich spiritual food, keeping our souls and the souls of others saved, and bringing worship (not songs, but that which God can inhale) to God.
There are so many questions about tithing that we will not be able to answer in this piece, but they have all been answered in the teaching I recommended to you.
ONE OF THE MAJOR BLESSINGS OF FAITHFUL AND RIGHTEOUS TITHING, IS DELIVERANCE FROM THE WORK OF DEVILS.
The Bible calls them devourers. If you have therefore, been tithing and your pastor is still chasing demons out of your life, or asking you to sow this seed or that seed for freedom, you are being scammed.
What is happening in your life is a sign that, whatever you are giving is not being placed in God’s hands; you are only placing it on the pastor’s hands. And the pastor or church, is not in God’s hands either. No one places any giving in God’s hands and not see the activities of devils neutralized in their lives.
No one who tithes according to the covenant that governs tithing will find themselves fighting enemies again. Faithful and righteous tithing, brings rest from the days of adversity. God gives rest to all who put their substance into the salvation of their souls and the souls of others.
The Bible says, “faithful is He who has promised who also will do it,” or perform His word in our lives! A major highlight in our devotional text says,
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.
God says when we bring all the tithes to his house (not a building, but the place of His manifest presence), He will open portals over us, and they will generate a blessing that there will be no room to keep. If you want your tithes to be opening portals over your life, you must keep to the spirit of that statement. You must be tithing in a church that functions as the house of GOD, or temple for God in the Spirit.
The way and why you tithe, is what determine if your tithe is righteous and true before GOD.
Most pastors say horrible things to their members when it comes to tithing. The people give just to escape the horrible things. If you were under the law, that would have blessed you. But we are under grace. So, it will never bless you. Under grace, all giving must be spirit led, revelation knowledge activated, and covenant relationship with God governed.
Under the law, you come under a curse for not tithing, but under grace you don’t. You only rob God; you rob Him from making the rewards of kingdom stewardship through tithing, speak in your life. Don’t forget, Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (Galatians 3:13-14).
THAT IS WHY, ABRAM, THE FIRST PERSON TO TITHE, NEVER DID IT UNDER THE LAW.
He did it under a covenant relationship with GOD. We are children of Abraham by Christ connection, we are to tithe the way He did.
We can go on and on, but like I always share, this is a devotional and not a book. Just get the entire message, sit down with Jesus to learn all about tithing, and you will not fail again in Jesus name!
Finally, I want you to understand that, a lot of manipulation is going on today in so many CROWDS called Churches in the area of tithing. Some intimidate the people to give, while others seduce them by giving them olive oil in a bottle to anoint their business, or communion to take after tithing. Some others anoint the people with oil right there in church after collecting their tithes. All that is a religious game.
The only thing that should precede the receiving of tithes in an Assembly of God’s people, is the bread of the life of the word and the wine of the works of the Holy Ghost, which has nothing to do with Holy Communion. But most Churches that collects tithes, are too dead spiritually for such works to manifest.
They cannot even minister the bread of life, and the wine of the works of the Holy Spirit to the people, whose tithes they collect faithfully. They just collect the monies from week to week, leaving them very slim and lean in the spirit. You find their members everywhere, looking for solutions to their problems. That is not the will of God.
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;
“Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all. Genesis 14:18-20 NKJV
