TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 6th October 2023)

WELCOME TO THE 279TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS
Today we will be looking at matters of relationships. I believe God wants to speak to us about one of the most important treasures He gave to man, the treasure of right relationships. David needed a Right Relationship in Saul’s young daughter, to be saved from an assassination plot by her father. Apostle Paul needed a Right Relationship in his little Nephew, to be saved from a plot to kill him.
No one can become what God has called him to be without Right Relationships. They can always be more than money. That is why, if you have a destiny to fulfil without Right Relationships around you, the dragon will bring you under a spiritual siege and cut your life short. That was what he did to Samson.
Sadly, many of us have not really seen that Samson was executed by a wrong Relationship that the dragon planted in his life. Some of us have read and heard about it in our Sunday school classes but have not really seen it. That is why we still fall into the same snare; bringing all manner of people with the ‘Delilah spirit’ into our lives; either as staff, colleagues in the office, blood relatives, wives, husbands, friends, Church members, pastors, ministry or business partners and etc., bringing us under spiritual siege.
The Delilah spirit have been known as a spirit of sexual perversion, but I want to shock you that it is not. There was no place in the Bible where Samson slept with Delilah. We have always wrongly attributed the work of the demon Asherah to this spirit. The Delilah spirit is a spirit that makes someone bring you to the knee of their submission, with an evil intention.
The intention is usually to hear all the hidden secrets of your life, with the primary purpose of using them against you in the day of disagreement. They will come so close, with hands or hearts that pretend to care, hear all that is in your life, and then arm themselves for battle against you. Like she shaved Samson’s hair, this spirit, when walking through someone, will shave your ability to reason, bringing you into a siege. There are so many people under spiritual siege by the hands of this kind of relationships.
TALKING ABOUT SPIRITUAL SIEGE, A SIEGE IS SIMPLY A MILITARY BLOCKAGE TO PREVENT WHAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING, FROM COMING INTO A CITY.
When you come under a siege in the spirit, suicide thoughts will become the only thoughts that you can muster. Life will lose its meaning to you; in simple terms, you will begin to love death, and anything that looks like it, more than life. Friend, it is very suffocating to have men or women with the Delilah spirit in your life, because of the spiritual siege they create. Some have the characteristics of making you feel that you owe them the knowledge of the secrets of your heart.
You do not feel like keeping anything when they mischievously ask for it. But sharing what they want you to share with them, will make it possible for you to come under a spiritual blockage, where good things that make life meaningful in your life will be stopped. Sometimes by them; using what they know about you.
For instance, they can stop someone from joining a church, or approaching a lady for marriage. They can even stop money from coming to you, by sharing the secrets of your life with the wrong ears. Personally, I have discovered that some folks with the Delilah spirit, are very innocent men and women, with the hidden habit of senselessly sharing your confidential matters with others, without knowing what the people could do with the information.
For instance, an innocent married woman can share what her husband told her in confidence with someone out there, without knowing what the person is capable of doing with the information. There are men who have lost fortunes because of that. Some even lost their lives, because of what their wives said innocently to a wrong ear she never knew was wrong. If you are married to such a person, he or she must learn how not to bring you under a siege by the words of their mouth.
THERE IS ANOTHER THING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU WHEN SOMEONE IS UNDER A SIEGE.
For instance, if you are a single woman and come under a siege, the wrong people will be the ones coming to ask your hand in marriage. If you are gentle man, you will always be falling into the hands of wrong women. You may have women all around you, but will never find a wife among them. Also, most people loose relevance and social appeal, when they come under a spiritual siege.
For instance, if your friends are celebrating a Birthday or any other social function that might bless you if you attend, you will not even be remembered. In fact, in most cases it will not be deliberate. What is happening around you spiritually, is making them to forget you naturally.
There are those that people have forgotten they even exist until the door of favor was shut. Physiologically, living under a siege in the spirit will shut down your health system and not allow you to have rest. You will be moving from one ill health to another, spending fortunes until your money is no more. Medical help will not be able to help in any way. Anyone who tries to help you will also come under the same attacks.
Economically, when you are under a siege in the spirit you will become mysteriously poor. If you have a business it will become dry; people will no longer come for your services. Those who owe you will refuse to pay and even if you have something to sale to salvage the situation, there will be no buyers coming. It is very terrible to be under a siege in the spirit.
Concerning the nation of Israel, the Bible says it was so bad that women began to eat up their Children. Nothing good was coming into the City. Everything they had was eaten up without replenishment until there was nothing left to eat but their Children.
It is really terrible to live under a siege in the spirit. What I just stated about Israel can be found in 2 Kings Chapter 6; if your economic life suits that description, then you need an urgent help from the LORD!
I have also come to discover that, most bitter rivalries in families are products of this kind of captivity. When people come under a siege in the spirit, harmony will no longer exist in their lives. And since hurting people, hurt people, they will begin to hurt even those who love them.
IT IS REALLY TERRIBLE TO SPEND EVEN A DAY UNDER A SPIRITUAL SIEGE.
If you are under any kind of a siege, get set to walk out of it this month. Don’t forget, it’s our season of Impact. We cannot have impact with wrong people around our lives. Something will just have to happen for them to leave. We will need right relationships in our lives.
Friend, God has a way of using Right Relationships to break through things in the spirit realm, and bring any kind of spiritual siege over His people to an end. So, get set to see your siege come to an end. It is our season of Impact.
In 2 Kings Chapters 6 and 7, God used a Right Relationship in Elisha to break the siege over the nation, and bring about a turnaround in 24 hours.
The Bible says
“Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.'”
“So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” 2 Kings 7:1-2 NKJV
All through the scriptures, you see a repeat of this kind of divine move in the lives of people. You see God using one Right Relationship to navigate and bring the captives out of sieges. As we can see in the scripture above; one Right Relationship in Elisha turned things around for Israel. One Right Relationship will turn things around for you.
There is a Right Relationship that can break any spiritual siege in your life and bring you out instantly into desired blessings. You have been suffering because you are yet to reach out to it. Israel suffered until they reached out to Elisha. The man was all the while in the nation when it came under siege, and moved from plenty to nothing, and then to eating their own Children. Yet none cared to reach out to him, until many children have been boiled and eaten by their parents (though only one incident was recorded).
GOD WILL ALWAYS OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE MINISTRY OF THE ONE MAN OR WOMAN OF HIS THAT YOU NEED TO BECOME ALL HE HAS CALLED YOU TO BE.
In the same way, Satan will blind your minds the ministry of one man or woman of God that you do not need in your life to come into great light in Christ and amazing moves of His Spirit in your life. For Israel, he blinded them from seeing Elisha until things became terrible.
When they finally caught the wisdom to reach out to him, the siege came to an end in 24 hours. One right relationship is all you need to change your life. Believe the word of the LORD, that you are the next to find that “Right Relationship” that God has ordained for you!
It is important to let you know that, not every relationship is ordained for you, because not everyone can bring a siege to an end, in your life. In other words, you do not need many people to deal with that siege. You do not need an army of prayer partners. You need just one RIGHT PERSON – an Elisha – to turn things around in your life.
You need someone who is equipped to bring Heaven to the earth or graced to provoke eternity to invade time on your behalf. That was who Elisha was to Israel and that is who you need at this time of your life! Our devotional text today is a unique one. It is more of a divine instruction to someone who will be sensitive to the Spirit to sense what God is saying. It says;
“Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing, Declare, proclaim this, Utter it to the end of the earth; Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob!”
Now, sometimes, to come out of a siege, you do not need an Elisha to rise for you. You just need to walk out of the lives of some people by yourself. I want you to understand clearly that if your life is not progressing, if things are going from bad to worst. If the desire to die is stronger in you than the desire to live, you need to walk out from the lives of certain people you are currently clinging to.
As we close this devotional today, ask the LORD for the courage to do the right things; seek Him in prayer to help you separate from the wrong people you have always treated as right people. Treat what we have shared today as wisdom from above because that is what it is!
