THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 10TH JANUARY 2025)

“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” Matthew 7:26-27 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 10TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY.

It is also the 9th day of our special intimacy with Jesus program, “40 Special Days with my Jesus.” If you are drinking from this fountain, it is important that you join us in this spiritual exercise.

It is an exercise unto Godliness, that falls into divine will; a spiritual eagle development period, in which everyone who follow the LORD in spirit and in truth during the period, will be given power by the LORD, or strengthen to come out soaring like the eagle at the end.

The Bible says,

“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29-40 NKJV

The days that we live in are days that are too dangerous for a child of God to live naturally or ordinarily. The horrors of the days demand a fresh spiritual life, one patterned by the LORD in the eagle.

That is the reason we decided to do whatever it will take for us to spend the rest of our days, mounting up with wings as eagles, running the Christian race without becoming weary, and walking in the Spirit without fainting.

We believe that the LORD will help us to achieve that in our lives through this exercise, and also know Satan is the last person that will ever want that to happen. Hence, recognizing the warfare that surrounds this kind of decision, and trusting the LORD to help us remain focus, strong and purposeful.

Our goal is to continue living a life that is in divine will, and that is not possible until we are strengthened by the LORD to mount up with wings as the eagle on daily bases, run the Christian race without growing weary and becoming sinful, and walk in the Holy Spirit without fainting and becoming carnal.

It is when we mount up with wings, run the race, and walk in the Spirit that we will be able to live our days within divine will. Living our days in divine will is the ultimate vision of God for our lives, because the most important thing in God’s kingdom is the will of God.

YES, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN GOD’S KINGDOM IS THE WILL OF GOD. THAT IS WHY IT DETERMINES A LOT IN THE KINGDOM.

For instance, a prayer that is not prayed according to the will of God will not be answered. There is no marriage that is not in God’s will that has ever blessed the people involved, excerpt there is a reformation. An idea that is not rooted in God’s will is not usually welcomed by the LORD. You see that in the Nimrod ambition. It was overthrown by the LORD. He never allowed it to breed.

The story of Nimrod in Genesis chapter 10 and 11, teaches that God will fight anything that is not in His will. He will withdraw His provision, power, grace, favor, and presence from whatever is not in His will. He will NOT walk with whoever goes against His will or walk away from it.

The Bible teaches that people who work for the LORD, but not according to His will, will not have a better eternal ending. Those who are presently calling the name of the LORD but not doing the Father’s will, stand no chance of making it on the judgment day.

These are the significant things that should make doing the will of God, or living according to it the focus of everyone. If the will of God is the most important thing in His kingdom, then doing the will of God is doing the most important thing in God’s kingdom.

If you are looking for the most important thing to do in God’s kingdom in 2025, you have just found it. Find out what the will of God is concerning any issue of your life and do it. Spend each day of the year that way, and you will be most blessed.

The Bible teaches that people who do the most important things in God’s kingdom, commands the greatest attention of Heaven on earth. It teaches that the eyes of God are going to and fro on planet earth to show Himself mighty on their behalf.

That is what make being in divine will the surest way to receive God’s intervention in any situation you find yourself. In other words, people who are in God’s will, do not lack divine intervention when adversity strikes. God will always come through for them.

YOU SEE THAT IN THE LIVES AND TIMES OF SOME OF THE LEADERS OF THE EARLY CHURCH.

Peter was put in the prison at one time, and the Church prayed. After the prayer, God sent an angel to bring him out of prison. The escape was so miraculous that those who put him there were awestruck.

That answer came, not just because the people prayed, but because Peter was in divine will. It teaches us that prayers of divine intervention receive quick and outstanding answers when people who need the answers are in divine will, which brings us to another leader in the early church.

Paul was on his way to Rome and had a terrible shipwreck that would have ended his life. But God sent an angel to rescue him and others. But the devil never gave up on him.

He would later be bitten by a snake on the Island of Malta, leading to the people saying he must have done something terrible since the snake bit him after he escaped the shipwreck. They actually called it God’s justice. But God came to the rescue. The Bible says,

“But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.”

But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.

However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.” Acts 28:3-6 NKJV

This story teaches us that when people take us for what we are not, if we are in divine will, that will not continue for long. So, we should never attempt to respond to them in the flesh, but we should commit our lives to the LORD in prayer, seeking intervention. He will intervene, and when He does, they will change their minds.

Living our days in divine will is the only way we can receive quick answers to prayers in the day of adversity. It is the only way we can quickly find God when the enemy strikes.

FRIEND, NONE OF US SHOULD COMPROMISE THIS YEAR ON MATTERS OF BEING IN DIVINE WILL. LIFE MIGHT NOT BE GOOD IF WE DO!

You will find being in divine will the most secured place to be in 2025 and beyond, if you make it your aim to do so all the time.

Though not easy to do, but you will find yourself experiencing a constant supply of grace, favor, mercy, God’s goodness, and a special release of the Unction to function in anything the LORD may have assigned you to do of you live this year in divine will.

One way we live our days in divine will, is by doing whatever the LORD says to us in His word, the Holy Bible. It has a way of building our lives on the rock; the rock of God’s word and will. Our devotional text today says,

“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall” Matthew 7:26-27 NKJV

If we do not build our lives in divine will by doing whatever the word says to us this year, we will fall, and great will be our fall.

There are people who have fallen into sickness, poverty, premature death, failed hopes, and all the ills God wanted to protect them from because they did not live their days doing whatever He says. God does not want any of us in that number, hence sending this word.

As we bring this devotional to a close, I want you to understand that your faith, prayers, or fasting might never eliminate or stop the storms, floods or winds of life from rising and hitting you. No! But you can survive all of them and come out stronger if you will apply the wisdom of being in divine will to your daily life.

May this day speak blessings into your life, in Jesus precious name! AMEN!!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;

“To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in you; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on you be ashamed; let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.”

“Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and your lovingkindnesses, for they are from of old.”

“Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to your mercy remember me, for your goodness’ sake, O Lord. Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.”

“The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.”

“For Your name’s sake, O Lord, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great. Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth.”

“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.” Psalms 25:1-14 NKJV
