TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 28TH FEBRUARY 2025)
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you.” Proverbs 4:23-24 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 59TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
It’s been days of experiencing His mercies, compassion and marvelous help. His love is so deep that we cannot get over it.
He knows even our deepest secrets and still loves us. How many will still love if they discover our deepest secret – I mean bad secrets that the blood of the lamb has covered? None!
Many of us are not worthy of even being alive but He has not stopped His life from flowing through us. These are the things that should exhume right living and submission to His will, ways, and purpose from us. If we do not know this, we will begin to take His grace for granted and destroy our life.
There are two major reasons why God relates with us the way He does – two basic reasons why He does not deal with us according to our sins; the first lies in what the Spirit of God through Apostle Peter said in some of the things he penned down for us. He wrote saying;
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
Meaning, God deals with us according to his mercies to exhume Repentance from us. If therefore we do not consider His mercies, then repent from it, we will be doomed at the end, because there is a second reason.
The second reason is in another statement of the Spirit that came through Apostle Paul. He spoke to a group of people that day saying;
“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” Acts 17:30-31 NKJV
YOU CAN SEE WHAT PETER SAID REFLECTING EVEN IN THIS VERSE OF THE BIBLE.
What he said shows us what one of the most precious passions of the Holy Spirit is – to bring man to repentance. The reason is because, a day has been set aside by the LORD when we will all be judged for our unrepentance, and God wants us to escape that day.
Any sin we keep committing or evil we keep doing that did not receive judgment on this side of eternity, will ultimately be judged on the other side of eternity – a timeless side. And that is dangerous.
That is why we should not take the grace of God for granted by continuing in our sins, especially if there are no immediate repercussions or consequences. The most dangerous preachers today are preachers who are teaching things that are not turning people away from sin, maybe due to no immediate consequences.
Our hearts may become hardened or deceived because we did not fall and die or come into any immediate consequences for doing abominable acts, but that does not mean what we may have done is good. It only means God is merciful, patient and circumspect. He prefers repentance to instantaneous judgment.
If it is immaturity that is causing us to fall into sin or live a life of ungodliness, He will come with impartation of His word and Spirit to mature us; most of the time by even changing our churches or bringing us under more anointed and spiritually formidable pastors.
But if it is rebellion that is responsible for our actions, He will keep warning and calling for change until we either respond or come into sudden stripping and judgment.
As I consider these things I came to realize that one of the major things we must do as humans is to learn to put the Word of God in the Holy Bible to use. Yes, we should stop looking at the Bible as a religious book for a religious sect, and start seeing it the way it is;
BASIC INTRUCTIONS from God to mankind BEFORE LEAVING EARTH.
IF WE DO NOT TREAT IT THAT WAY, WE WILL BE SORRY WHEN OUR SPIRITS LEAVES OUR BODIES TO THE NEXT LIFE.
There are things we ought to know that if we do not know now, we will be ruined in the life to come, and all of them are in the Bible.
These are the things GOD designed our souls to know and accommodate. Yes, there are the things the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing the spiritual things in the Bible with other spiritual things in the Bible.
Sometimes they are taught at advanced level – that is Spirit of God to spirit of man level. Other times they are shared through human vessels. That is why Jesus gave us His fivefold ministry gifts to help us. It is a redemption system of the Godhead for humanity.
Sadly, the enemy has destroyed most of the system by raising counterfeits of these gifts and placing them in the false church on earth. But if we are privileged to encounter the original and sit under them, the Holy Spirit can use them to teach us so many things in the Holy Bible and even open Heavenly portals in our souls and spirits using the revelation imparted into us.
There are scriptural revelations with capacity to open Heavenly portals in our spirits. Heavenly portals are spiritual gates that connect the invisible world of God with our visible world. The Holy Spirit can act on scriptures we are meditating on to open Heavenly portals over us.
When that happens, we will come to the place of angels ascending and descending on us. That brings us to what Jesus said to an ancient disciple of His, called Nathaniel, when he was still a prospective follower. The Bible says,
“And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” John 1:51 NKJV
JESUS WAS REFERRING TO THE OPENING OF HEAVENLY PORTALS OVER HIS SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY.
One of such moments was in Matthew 17 where the portals opened, and His face was transformed like the Sun. The soul of a man is built in such a way that Portals (either from Heaven or hell) can open within it. When they do, they impact the person powerfully. That is how people communicate powerfully with either God or demons.
When Heavenly portals open over you, it will change your life. It changed the life of Jacob and Laban saw the impact even after 20 years. God poured such a blessing on Jacob that the wealth of Laban was transferred to him, despite all Laban did to ruin his success.
The opening of portal over us is God’s way of transferring generational blessings from Heaven to our lives on earth. When it happened to Jacob in Genesis 28, the Bible says;
“And behold, the Lord stood above it and said:”I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.
Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Genesis 28:13-15 NKJV
If you look at this portion of the bible carefully, you will discover that each verse tells us what the heavenly portal brought into the life of Jacob.
THE FIRST WAS THE PROMISE TO POSSESS THE LAND HE WAS LYING ON.
Along with the promise was the Heavenly backing which has not left the earth since then, basically because the manifestation of the blessing is needed in every generation of Isreal and the Church. That explains why Israel is still existing today despite the opposition she faces.
The second verse speaks of the blessing to increase and spread everywhere that came. We saw that speaking when Israel went to Egypt and in the days of Solomon. The blessing is still speaking in the Church today.
The next was the promised Messiah; it says in your seed (Christ) all the families of the earth will be blessed. That also came to pass in the miracle of Immaculate Conception, the birth of the Church, and the outpouring of the Holy Ghost on all flesh.
Indeed, in him all the nations of the earth have been blessed. The last blessing that was released upon him that day was an ever-abiding presence of God. The LORD said to him.
“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
What more can we glean from these prophetic truths in the encounter Jacob had that day? So much! But one more thing I realize is this; spiritual oppression in life and hardships are most times a by-product of evil portals opened over the souls of men and women for not coming to the place of being imparted with accurate scriptural revelations.
THERE ARE THINGS WE ARE NOT DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE IN OUR SOULS – DOCTRINES OF DEVILS ARE SOME OF THEM.
These things open evil portals over us and keep us in demonic oppression, that is why people who are taught things about the devil, evil altars, curses, evil patterns in father’s houses, etc. instead of the doctrine of Christ, are usually under persistent oppression. Dark teachings like that open evil portals over people.
Now, it is not just heretic and dark teachings that open evil portals over people, dark and heretic practices called deliverance also do.
For instance, the use of photos to pray, the use of stereotyped prayer points and prayer at certain hours of the day or night, the serving of the unholy communion, the washing of feet and the baptism with olive oil in most churches.
Dark practices like raising or silencing of altars open evil portals over people as well. So many people have told me how the gate of death was opened over their home after doing what they call raising and silencing of altars. Sadly, those who teach and lead people to do so call the acts “deliverance.”
You cannot be free from oppression sitting under teachings that speak chiefly about the oppressor! They will subtly open the portals of the oppressor in your soul. They will never open the portals of the deliverer – Jesus Christ.
If the portals of the oppressor, Satan or his demons are subtly opened in your soul, either you know it or not, you will never have rest from demonic oppression. They will need to be closed for you to have a rest.
Our devotional text this morning says;
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you.” Proverbs 23:24 NKJV
The portals that are opened in your heart determine what flows out of your life.
If your life is full of poverty, misery, and all kinds of oppression, there are no portals of Heaven within you. You must put away persistent sins or evil deeds and turn your heart away from heretic preachers. Then commit to right living, submitting to the truth of the Bible, and the work of the Holy Spirit, until Christ and His dominion is established in your life.
That is how the evil portals are closed and Heavenly ones open. That is how we come to the place of great change.

“Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Matthew 17:1-5 NKJV
