TODAY’S DEVOTION (Saturday 26th April 2025)
“And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.”
“And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:25-26 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 116TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
What a blessing to be counted among the living of today! The Bible says to all who are joined to the living, there is hope. Things may not be okay with you this morning, but God’s written word says there is hope because you are still alive.
This glorious morning, we will continue our devotional discourse on prayer. Yesterday, we spoke about travailing prayers. Today we will see an additional revelation on prayer. One of the earliest songs I learnt when I encountered God’s saving grace was a song on prayer.
It says: “Prayer is the key; prayer is the key. Prayer is the master key. Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer. Prayer is the master key!”
Sadly, one of the leading Bishops in NIGERIA came up with what we all thought was a better revelation and changed that song to “wisdom is the key.” He anchored his opinion on the book of proverbs Chapter 4:7 that say “Wisdom is the principal thing.
Therefore, in all your getting get wisdom and get understanding” and we believed him and stopped praying and started reading.
That was when the Church in Nigeria slipped away from God’s genuine Power. That was when the abuse of the anointing Oil took the center stage. The same man started preaching that the Holy Ghost was now in a bottle.
Consequently, the Holy Ghost was replaced with bottles of oil, and humanistic philosophies became the anchor of our faith. The faith of many was no longer built on the power of God but on the wisdom of men! It became bad.
CARNALITY BECAME THE HALLMARK OF CHRISTIANITY, AND WE EVENTUALLY LOST THE PRAYER SPIRIT.
Those who tried to remain on the prayer knee, replaced the lost prayer Spirit with prayer books, and it became worst. Then God started using scriptures like Jeremiah 33:3 that says “Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not” to heal us of the charismatic madness and wake us up from the terrible slumber.
He started restoring the prayer Spirit and taking away the prayer books from the hands of few of us using the apostolic grace. Sadly, there is still more job to be done today, but some of us began to understand that prayer remains the master key and not wisdom, because prayer is the source of true wisdom.
James Chapter 3:13 to 18 tells us that there are two kinds of wisdom.
One is earthly, the other is Heavenly. One is from the earth, and the other is from above. Then we understood that if we stop praying and start reading, we will only have wisdom from the earth; sadly, we will call it divine wisdom. We will never have the wisdom from above.
Whenever I hear that Bishop boast of some accomplishments he has made using the wisdom from books instead of the wisdom from the prayer knee, calling it “what wisdom is this?” I feel so sad at the mundane results this wisdom has brought at the expense of the souls of men.
Sadly, those who drink from his fountain have filled the Church of Jesus Christ with the same kind of results, creating bitter envy wrapped in high level hypocrisy, subtle self-seeking moves like the positioning of their children to take over their ministries, and other corrupt practices in the churches.
The Bible made it clear in the book of James that a wisdom that gets the Church filled with such filthy things is not from above but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. It says: “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”
Everything from above is above all filth. Hence, the wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits.
IT IS WITHOUT PARTIALITY AND HYPOCRISY. AND IT TAKES PRAYER TO RECEIVE THIS KIND OF WISDOM.
So, prayer remains the master key because it is the key to the principal thing – the wisdom from above! It is important to note that whoever makes men to cease calling upon the name of the LORD is usually blessed by hell with stupendous wealth.
I saw this in the life of the first man in the Bible to cause men to stop calling upon the name of the LORD like this Bishop did to us in Nigeria. His name was Cain. This man ended up killing his brother Abel, and departing from the presence of God, seeking wisdom.
Sadly, the same was what started happening in the Church of the Bishop whose teachings did the same thing in Nigeria.
The church became so rich with earthly wealth but not the spiritual wealth of eternal life. Brothers started killing brothers. To this moment, the evil wind he generated is still blowing in his vast Church Empire among his members, pastors and Bishops.
Cain’s life created events that eventually killed the prayer Spirit in his generation. But when Seth, a replacement for Abel, was born, the Prayer Spirit was restored. Now, you will never understand these prophetic things until you read the Book of genesis chapter 4 with the author, the Holy Ghost, sitting by your side to unseal it to you.
Our devotional text this morning made it clear that men began to call upon the name of the LORD when the Seth generation was born. It says “And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.”
CHILD OF GOD THERE IS A SETH GENERATION THAT IS BEING BORN TODAY.
This generation is leading a ministry that is bringing forth the Enosh generation – a generation that will activate the prayer Spirit again; the Holy Ghost is releasing this generation from the womb of His Holiness.
Men will once again, begin to call upon the name of the LORD with a pure heart and the Prayer Spirit not with prayer books. This is happening already in few prophetic and apostolic enclaves, where the pure gospel is being preached.
My prayer for you this glorious day is that the Holy Ghost might open your eyes to see and your ears to hear these things in a language you will understand, in Jesus precious name, because the prophetic message I am relating is very deep. We cannot uncover it in a devotional.
Whenever people cease calling upon the name of the LORD, especially with the prayer Spirit, hell will begin to hold sway in the lives of men, particularly in local churches where an absence of a genuine prayer knee and a dangerous religious prayer spirit holds sway.
Whenever these things happen, the prosperity of hell will come in and false prophets will begin to rise to devour the faith that was once delivered to the saints – the apostolic faith. Friend, the Church is in dire need of the prayer Spirit that is why God has sent us, among others, to activate the rise of the Seth generation.
If you are part of this generation, you will not be comfortable using prayer books to talk to your God. You will not be comfortable with what we call “dangerous prayer” books. You will not be comfortable with prayers led by people who preach about raising altars, using oil, and heretic things.
You will not be comfortable with any carnal prayers. Your spirit will be seeking something deeper to bring you into the prayer realm. That thing is the prayer Spirit.
The prayer Spirit is called the Spirit of grace and supplication. It is the authentic motivator of result-oriented prayers! Any result you get from prayer books will just be a relief and not rest! Only the Prayer Spirit activates the prayer that brings rest from all the works of the enemy.
This morning ask the LORD for the prayer Spirit so that your prayers can be Spirit controlled and result oriented. Though it will take away prayer books from your hands, but you will begin to unleash tremendous prayer power when the prayer Spirit comes upon you!
