THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 6th May 2025)

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy,

having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” 1 Timothy 4:1-5 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 126TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

Welcome to another great day from our generous and kind creator, Jesus Christ, who do not deal with us according to our wickedness but according to the depth of our repentance. The LORD has been good to us, to Him belong the glory!!

Day unto day He has not left us without a word.

The world is too dark to live in without a daily word from the LORD. The Christian journey is too challenging not to have a true word from the LORD on daily bases.

The Bible says man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.

We are living in difficult times, but the difficulty of the times is being taken care of by God’s faithfulness. He is alive and well, that is why we have been alive and well. In Him we live, in Him we have our being.
Today, God has a word for us. If you look at our devotional text for the day, you will realize that it is very prophetic.

The entire text is a “rumbling of the Spirit” that warns us of the times we live in as Children of God and at the same time prepare us.

Generations have come and gone, experiencing the same rumblings. If our generation will not pay attention to them, we will be reduced to rubbles when the things the Holy Spirit is rumbling about take place.

A major highlight of it says:

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,” 1 Timothy 4:1-2 NKJV

THIS IS ONE BIBLE PROPHECY THAT HAS BEEN FULFILLED IN EVERY CHURCH AGE.

Our own church age is witnessing the fulfillment of the same prophecy. We are at the very times this scripture was talking about!

There are doctrines of devils everywhere today, consequently many have departed from the faith and have delved into real occult and money-spinning practices.

From the doctrines of redemption of first born to the doctrine of evil altars, evil patterns, using of sand, Candles, salt, etc. to pray, the dark practices of carrying prophets to one’s village to uproot some things, and to all sorts of things preached and demonstrated. The list is endless!

Many people have departed from the faith, though not denied it yet. They are still called Christians but without the life of Christ in their moral behavior. Sadly, they use twisted scriptures to back up their spiritual depravity.

It is important to note that there is a difference between denying the faith and departing from the faith. While we have those who are denying the faith, many are not denying but departing from it. All these developments are dangerous!

Today there are local Church Assemblies that you must withdraw your feet from if you really want to make Heaven.

These places or assemblies look like Churches outwardly but are just assemblies of Satan by spiritual content.

They major in earthly things at the expense of the eternal life of the people. They do not labor in the word and doctrine to form Christ in people!

They just scream fire and do all kinds of things to make money from the people’s calamities, stupidity and ignorance.

Friend, if something is not done quickly, the last seconds of these last days will meet so many acclaimed Christians unprepared to spend eternity with Christ.

Many of us will be like the five foolish virgins who did not carry enough oil in their lamps, and when a cry for the bridegroom’s arrival was sent, they were not ready to meet Him.

CHILD OF GOD, ARE YOU READY TO MEET YOUR KING?

If God should withdraw His restraining force and allow the nations to start unleashing their nuclear weapons on themselves, you know it will touch every other nation under Heaven.

If that happens, will you be happy to go meet your LORD and KING in eternity to see His blessed face, or will you be afraid of judgment?

Do you have sufficient Oil to sustain you every day? When the Bible says Oil, it is not referring to the anointing Oil in bottles or Jars but the works of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Do you have enough work of the Spirit to sustain you these end times?

Do you have enough work of the Spirit in your Life? If your greatest desire this end times is not to have sufficient works of the Spirit burning in your heart, your lamb (spirit) will not burn at the appearing of Christ.

Now, how do you know if your Oil is not sufficient? How do you know if the works of the Holy Spirit in your life are not sufficient? The answer is simple; carnality will begin to rule your life.

Yes, you will become carnally minded instead of spiritually minded.

The passions of your flesh will begin to influence your decisions and rule your life completely. Even your physical emotions will become defiled, especially at the slightest provocation.

That is when you see yourself driven by hate, the carnal passions of the flesh, pride, lust, sexual desires, and all kinds of filthiness of the flesh and spirit.

The greatest eyesore in Church today are the many believers whose lamps have no Oil. It’s sad.

The last day will be terrible. The reason for this lack of Oil lies in our hearts, the kind of churches we attend, and the kind of preachers we listen to.

Many of us are not interested in God at all. We are just interested in things we want Him to do in our lives. That is why we cannot get His Oil.

It’s my prayer that the LORD will use this devotional to kindle your desire for the Oil. Like David, we must desire an overflow of His Oil in our lives. Our cups must run over on daily bases else we will not survive these seasons.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’

Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’

But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV
