THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Wednesday 18th June 2025)

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.”

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms 23:5-6 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 169TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

Blessed be the LORD God who daily loads us with benefits. Day unto day He utters speeches and night unto night He reveals wisdom. This is another day that the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

As you can see, today is the 18th day of the month. The number 18 is made up of two unique numbers: the number 10 and the number 8. In prophetic numbering, as many have grown to know, 8 is the number of new beginnings because it was 8 people that began humanity after the flood, ten is the number of full measure or wholeness.

Sometimes, you will never be made whole in life until God gives you a fresh beginning. Yes, you will be trying and failing on a particular pedestal in life until God gives you a fresh one to live your life from.

We all usually say, “God is God of a second chance,” But I would like to say, “GOD IS GOD OF NEW BEGINNING.” The reason is simple, if we do not understand what to do with the second chance He may have given us, it will disappear and back we will be in the gutters of life.

God’s fresh starts always demand fresh lifestyles from those God may be giving the fresh starts to. They usually call for circumcision of the heart. If you do not know this, you will be wasting your new beginnings or fresh starts from the LORD, and your life will be going in a circle.

I repeat, God’s new beginnings call for fresh circumcision of heart. The Bible teaches that our lives are shaped by the content or nature of our hearts, regardless of prophetic declarations.

So, if God grants us a season called new beginning maybe by prophetic declaration, but our hearts are not circumcised, our lives will remain the way they are. That is the reason many have had new beginnings, but lives have remained the same.

THE PROPHETIC DECLARED A NEW BEGINNING UPON THEM, BUT THERE WAS NO HEART CIRCUMCISION TO MAKE IT REAL IN THEIR LIVES.

That is why new beginnings are regular occurrences in the lives of people who live lives that are shaped by a heart that is constantly going through the circumcision that sound teaching brings, the circumcision of the word of the LORD.

So let no one deceive you. If there is no circumcision of our hearts, there will be no going forward in life. If you want to move from where you are now to a better life than what you may have had in life by the arm of the LORD, you will have to submit your heart for circumcision. It is not sowing a seed to a prophet that will work the miracle but allowing your heart to be circumcised by the word of the LORD.

Sowing a seed of kindness, generosity or love to a man of God may bless you, but that will never replace the need for the circumcision of heart. Circumcision of the heart is one thing that is needed for a man to move from who he is, to who God want them to be. This is what makes apostolic teaching churches like the Cry of the Spirit ministry, the best church to attend.

But people prefer where they will be making prophetic declarations on them and giving money for it, instead of where they will be circumcised because circumcision is painful. If you plant yourself in an apostolic teaching church, you will be moving from one new beginning to another, even if new beginning prophecies are not made over your life.

We step into new beginnings each time our hearts are circumcised. We move from a struggling life to a better one, when our hearts are circumcised for it.

If I want to stop living in sexual sins, for example, I must have my heart circumcised by listening to teachings on holiness, purity and righteousness. Circumcision is the gateway to a new life in Christ Jesus, not a recitation of a sinner’s prayer.

A lost sinner needs circumcision of the heart to become heaven worthy, a Christian needs Circumcision of the heart to stay Heaven worthy.

WE NEED CIRCUMCISION OF OUR HEARTS TO GET AND STAY SAVED.

You could be working with the LORD in purity, love, faith, and holiness, and may have decided to live that way for a lifetime; but if the devil, the world, life pressure or the battle with the flesh de-circumcise your heart, you will go back to your old way. That is why people backslid into ungodly lifestyles they left long ago after a season of Godly life.

When Abraham deviated from the paths of his divine destiny and lost touch with God, the LORD God decided to give him a fresh start after 13 years of no communication. The fresh start did not come with just a prophetic declaration; it came with a covenant of circumcision. If there was no circumcision, they would have been no fresh start for Abraham.

The covenant changed even his name, teaching us that a change of name will never change anything in our circumstances, it may change something in our psychology but will never change anything in our circumstances. It is a change of heart through circumcision that will change everything.

What God told Abram to do that transformed him into Abraham, was the prophetic instruction that laid the foundation for the true meaning and impact of regeneration or being born again. When we say “born again” we refer to that shift in dimension that takes place in the heart when someone meet the LORD. It is a heart circumcision that quickens us towards right living.

All that can be seen in what God told Abram to do that made him Abraham.

So, talking about New Beginning, you must understand that Abraham’s new beginning had circumcision in it. Your own must also have for anything meaningful to happen in your life.

The word of wisdom here is this, whenever you sense that GOD has given you a new beginning, begin to look for heart circumcision. Find an apostolic teaching Church and plant yourself there, or a man of God with uncommon truths and make him your spiritual authority.

DO ALL THAT WITH THE AIM OF RESPONDING TO THE WORD OF THE LORD THAT WILL BE TAUGHT TO YOU.

It is called positioning for new beginning. The word preached will become a torchlight to use in searching yourself thoroughly and carrying out the necessary changes you need to carry out for the New Beginning God may have revealed to you to become real in your life.

If you shine the torchlight of truth on us, you will discover that there are people that must circumcise themselves from so many things to have a new beginning in life. They must circumcise themselves from a life of gossip that brought them into trouble, attitudes that made them lose great privileges and opportunities in life.

Yes, they must circumcise themselves from sexual drives that gave them terrible spouses as husbands or wives, a carnal mindedness that keeps hell closer and heaven very far, a spiritual blindness and biblical illiteracy that has filled their lives with darkness, a special attachment to false teachings, a passion for false prophets and lying prophecies, and whole lot of other things.

If you can’t get to the root of what to circumcise yourself from by personal search, you may need to ask the LORD to reveal to you about it – what to circumcise your heart from. Sometimes those things are hidden. Only the LORD can search them out and make them known to us using the piercing light of His word.

As we bring this to a close, know that what may be separating you from the glorious life the LORD has promised you is circumcision; you have not submitted to the circumcision that will make it happen. We all need circumcision of the heart from time to time to move from sin to purity, gloomy to glory, doubt to faith, grass to grace and poverty to prosperity.

Yes, we need it to move from one moment of failure to victory. We need it to stay at the top or move from the bottom of life to the top. We need it to move from one bad life experience to a better life.

If Samson had circumcised himself from what happened to him after his marriage, there would have been no Delilah in his life. Sometimes you must circumcise yourself from a bad experience, by permanently walking away from those who created it. A major highlight in our devotional text said,

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

If you stay attached to what you should circumcise yourself from, God’s goodness and mercy may not be following you. Adversity, crisis, sorrow, disappointment and all that makes the heart sick, could be what will be following you!!

The word of the LORD this morning is this, “Circumcise yourself, and all will be well.”

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;

But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you.

See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. Your sons shall make haste; Your destroyers and those who laid you waste Shall go away from you. Isaiah 49:14-17 NKJV
