THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Monday 30th June 2025)

“If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth — if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.” Psalms 137:5-6 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 181ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

May the Name of the LORD be glorified for all He has done for us from the 22nd Day of June until this day. He has been faithful and kind. He has been our everything. We have tested His power repeatedly.

Jesus is the best! There is no question, He is!!

Today, the last day of the month of June, we will continue with the refreshing on matters of divine destiny. I hope we are ready. It is important to note that matters of divine destiny are the only matters that make a Heavenly council to sit. The reason for that is obvious.

In each person’s divinely crafted destiny is a fulfillment of God’s redemptive work, plan, and purposes. In the totality of our collective divinely crafted destinies, is the fulfillment of all of GOD’s Global redemptive plans and purposes for mankind.

Matters of destiny makes the council of God to sit because they are the only matters that has to do with the execution of His redemption for mankind.

If you read the scriptures, you will discover that the first time the council of Heaven sat over an issue, was after the creation of the heaven and earth. There was no record of it sitting until heaven and earth were created, and it never sat during the creation of all that consist of heaven and earth, until it was time to create man. That tells me, when you and I were formed in our mother’s wombs the council sat. Hallelujah!

You may wonder how I knew. Consult Jeremiah. God said to Jeremiah, “before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee…” (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV). Is it not interesting to know that Heaven’s council sat to pre plan all that GOD wants us to do with our lives when we were being formed in our mother’s womb? That tells us how important we are to the Godhead.

SO, AT CREATION THE COUNCIL SAT AND SAID:

“Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 NKJV

One major truth we can glean from here is, the creation of man was motivated by divine destiny. So, what really made the council of heaven to sit that day was to fix matters of God’s plan and purposes.

This teaches that no matter what you may be going through, if destiny is not at the center of it, it will never make God’s Heavenly council to sit on your case. That is why God will first harmonize a man with His immediate present-will before moving significantly in his life.

The Heart of God beats after men and women whose hearts are beating after their divine destiny.

In simple terms, the heart of God beats after men and women whose hearts are beating after why they are here on earth, people who are asking why they were born for such a time as this; men and women who are asking what God’s plans and purposes for them are.

Therefore, if you want God to set His eyes permanently on you, locate what He created you for, then spend the rest of your days pursuing it.

There is a generation that Heaven is watching over; it is not the generation of loud and empty prayer warriors. It is not even the generation of preachers. It is the generation of those who are mindful of their divine destiny and are busy with how to fulfill them. They could be prayer warriors or preachers.

These people enjoy a special grace of divine attention. Before they call, God answers, and while they are still speaking, God hears. The greatest desire of Jesus Christ for you is that you become part of this uncommon breed. You should not just join a church or get busy doing what you take to be the work of God.

DO NOT TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. BE SURE THAT WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING FALLS WITHIN YOUR DIVINE DESTINY.

The reason is because, you could be a preacher or a prayer warrior and still be doing all that outside GOD’s plans and purposes for your life. God designed us to fulfill prophetic assignments and predetermined programs, not just anything we take to be the work of God.

That is why we have been looking at what our divine destinies need to be fulfilled. You will never live a happy life on this imperfect earth if any part of why you are here is not being fulfilled.

Yesterday God highlighted to us that living a life of repentance is one major ingredient our destiny needs to be fulfilled. We looked at the potency of secret sins. We discovered that secrets sins can be extremely dangerous.

I have read quite a few autobiographies. I discovered that every Child of destiny who could not finish the race God set before him or her, spent a part of their days carefully concealing their sins. They betrayed their destinies either to a secret sin or something close to it. But today we are going a step further.

From my over 31 years of gospel ministry, and over 34 years of Christian life, I have come to discover that a man’s divine destiny will need SWIFT RESPONSE to be fulfilled. A swift response is described as “the swiftness of an eagle” in prophetic parlance. It describes the act of being prompt in your response to the timings God has set for you to step into His programs for your life.

Few years back, I was ministering in one of our schools of the Spirit sessions, an Apostolic Christianity Training School (ACTS), and the LORD showed me someone who will soon come under the gates of death and eventually die if he did not respond to his destiny.

The LORD showed me that there has been an un-necessary delay in the way he was handling God’s call upon his life.

He showed me that this person has refused to step into destiny. I saw his death coming and was worried of telling him the vision. Except God wants it done that way, it is my personal prophetic tradition not to announce such visions as quickly as they came but to seek a more effective way, because I know God reveals to redeem.

SO, I CALLED HIM AND TRIED TO BRING HIM INTO WHAT GOD HAS CALLED HIM TO DO. THE REST AS THEY SAY IS HISTORY!!

You see, this man was even diseased as I got to know later. Friend, if you do not add swift response to your divine destiny, it will never be fulfilled. Things that were not designed to be part of your life will catch up with you, and cripple everything.

Yes, men that were never designed to be part of your life might even become your husband, or women that were not designed to be part of your life, your wife. You will be busy here and there and fulfilling just nothing significant in life. Like the woman at the well, you might be going from marriage to marriage or life crisis to life crisis.

Our devotional text was an expression David passionately made in one of those spiritual sessions of his life. A major highlight in it says,

“If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth…”

Jerusalem was the place of David’s divine destiny. His assignment was not actually to become king but to locate where the temple was appointed to be built, which will later become the area where Jesus will be crucified. Being king over Jerusalem was an empowerment for him to fulfill this assignment.

And as you can see in the devotional text, David attached his joy, skill, and power of speech to his response to divine destiny. That means, a swift response to divine destiny has a way of bringing increase to us. It has a way of protecting us in ways we may not understand. That is why it is not safe to spend one moment of your life outside the things God may have assigned you to do on the face of the earth.

PEOPLE WHO DO SO, WILL NEVER LIVE A LIFE OF THE SHALOM OF GOD.

As we bring this to a close, understand that you may have a fruitful relationship with God, spending countless hours with Jesus Christ, behaving yourself wisely like David, and not plagued with the love of money or secret sins, but if you are not swift in your response to divine destiny, you will lose the results of all that, and come to a terrible end.

There are so many factors you must fight to step into destiny when it is time. One of them is fear. It was fear that kept Gideon from responding to God. God had to grant him multiple encounters that dealt with it for him to become the warrior he was.

Fear will paralyze you if you let it. It will create for you false evidence that looks real to keep you from doing what God wants you to do. Do not let it!!!

I pray for you today, that you submit to GOD’s grace to take away fear from your heart and embrace His assignment for your life. I pray that you understand what the will of the LORD is and redeem the time that is set before you. Yes, for all those who have plunged their lives into delay, they need to redeem any lost time.

I pray that you do not become lazy or slothful in matters of divine destiny, but you become swift and responsive in Jesus precious name! Amen!!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY,

Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:14-17 NKJV
