TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 6th July 2025)
“They shall not take a wife who is a harlot or a defiled woman, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God.
Therefore you shall consecrate him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy.” Leviticus 21:7-8 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 187TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
Last Sunday was our wedding anniversary. Though a prophetic landmark as it was, a decision was made to mark it in quietness because of the spiritual focus built by the birthday celebration, the fast for new beginning and the meetings scheduled. Personally, I never wanted to distract anyone.
Today, I want to share something about the marriage of a Levite.
A Levite today is a servant of God or a saved and sanctified child of GOD. I have maintained that only the Holy Ghost can sustain a marriage, not motivational speaking, positive confessions, etc. If you are a true servant of God, you are a Levite today. If you are saved and set apart by the LORD for the LORD, you are a Levite.
Your marriage ought to be different, and the Holy Ghost is the only person that can sustain your marriage. Generally, God designed that marriages be sustained by the Holy Ghost if rooted in God’s perfect will and governed by His ways.
Understand that marriage principles may help but they do not really sustain marriages.
What God has not joined together, no marriage principle can keep together. What God has not joined together, prayer and fasting cannot keep together.
Marriage principles, prayer and fasting, and every other act of worship in the kingdom, can only keep marriages that are founded in God’s perfect will and ran in God’s perfect ways together. The faster the Church wakes up to this truth the better for all of us!
When it comes to anything God created to be an incentive for the release of destiny, what He did not alpha, He will never sustain or bring to a glorious Omega.
Sadly, most marriages are joined together by lust, pride, sexual passion, tradition, religion, convenience, Church leaders etc. instead of GOD. They join them in the name of God and then go to pray to Him to sustain them. With what we are all seeing on ground, that is the wrong way to handle marriage matters.
WE MUST ALL KNOW THAT GOD DOES NOT SUSTAIN WHAT MAN JOINED. HE ONLY SUSTAINS WHAT HE JOINED USING MEN.
What man joined together will never fulfill God’s perfect will; hence He will not keep it together. A wedding ceremony may be glorious but that will never translate into a glorious marriage if God is not the one who joined the couple together.
I have come to realize that there is no marriage principle that will work if the Holy Ghost has not planted the peace of God in a marriage. And the Holy Ghost only does that if it was God that joined the couples together and they both agree to run the home according to God’s will and ways.
It is the presence of the Holy Ghost (using the ways of GOD the marriage is being run), that makes marriage principles to work. If the will and ways of GOD are absent, He will be absent. If He is absent, it does not matter which principle, prayer, or sacrifice is present, marriage will never work.
Someone once wrote a book titled “Making your marriage work.” It was a good read that blessed me when I read it over 23 years ago. But I grew up to discover that the principles He wrote down will never work if the Holy Ghost is not present.
Beautifully, we have been looking at divine destiny this month. If fulfilling God’s assignment for your life requires a wife or a husband, you will need a wife or a husband from the LORD to be able to unlock your divine destiny. A proper marriage is the next things a man or woman of destiny may need to fulfill his or her destiny.
What is proper marriage? A proper marriage is a marriage founded by the LORD. It is a marriage in God’s design. A marriage founded by the LORD will have a man and a woman that GOD brought together to form a family.
IT WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN GOD’S WILL AND RAN IN GOD’S WAYS.
It is one thing for a marriage to be in GOD’s will and another to be run in God’s way. If a marriage is GOD’s will but not run in God’s ways, it will be filled with problems. The reason is, not running it in God’s way, will create cracks that the enemy, who hates anything God, will come in and cause serious problems.
That is the only kind of marriage that prayers and Biblical principles can keep together. I hope you understand me! My heart goes to the many warriors of Jesus Christ (Daughters and Sons of Zion), who lost their ministries and finally their callings, and some their lives in traps with the appearance of a marriage.
If God’s assignment for your life will require a proper marriage to be fulfilled, you will never fulfill it with what may look like it. You will just bury it. Wrong marriages bury glorious destines. I know a woman who was once a member of the Church here in Nairobi, who lost her calling in her school days because of a man she married.
She has carried this man like a baby over the years and buried her assignment in the process. I could not tell her because it was too late. The price will be too high for her to pay. Today, she is pursuing what the flesh gave her.
Friend, when it comes to marriage and the fulfillment of destiny, the casualties are just too many. One may wonder what happened since I started with God quite early in life.
You see, in my days there was no one to teach me the truth that we teach our sons and daughters on marriage today. So, the blunders were made because of the pride of being used of GOD, with a mixture of zeal without knowledge, like my pastor would put it.
Our devotional text says:

IF YOU READ THIS VERSE THROUGH THE LENSES OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, YOU WILL QUICKLY UNDERSTAND HOW IT APPLIES TODAY.
I never knew the secrets buried here until I blew it. The truth is, if your assignment in life is God given, your marital life must be GOD governed, else you will end up in a marriage that will require you burying your assignment to keep it running.
And do not forget, while God will judge us for how we treat the people we came across in life, it is our assignments that we will matter in eternity, not our marriages. That is why our marriages ought to be incentives for fulfilling our assignments.

So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Genesis 2:20-23 NKJV
