TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 20th July 2025)
“Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in your truth.”
“I will freely sacrifice to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good. For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.” Psalm 54:4-7 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 201ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY!
It has been our month of God’s Rhema word on what our divine destinies needs to be fulfilled. The LORD has been faithful in sending a proceeding word to us each day. His faithfulness is the covering our lives has enjoyed.
It is the first day of another week and we give God the praise.
If God was not faithful, we would have been no more. His everlasting kindness would have been swallowed by our unfaithfulness. Blessed be His name for not dealing with us according to our sins, but according to His tender mercies.
The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel but the tender mercies of our God have always taken care of us. They are the reason we have not been destroyed by the wickedness of the wicked, and the subtility of the enemy.
They have been our shelter and refuge. Hallelujah!!!
Yes, the tender mercies of the LORD have been our mountain, our cave and everything. That is why you do not see us going to mountains or caves to pray. We already have the tender mercies of our God as our mountain and cave.
Today we will be looking for some more things that our divine destinies need to be fulfilled. That has been our contemplation all this season of life. I trust the LORD has been ministering to you, as we move from precept to precept, devotional to devotional.
THE NEXT THING THAT YOUR DIVINE DESTINY WILL NEED TO BE FULFILLED IS THE DEMONSTRATION OF THE POWER OF GOD.
Without the demonstration of the power of God in our lives, our divine destinies might never be fulfilled. The reasons are so many, one of which is the presence of things that are bigger than us on earth. Yes, overwhelming situations that have become stronger than your prayer, fasting etc.
The power of God needs to be demonstrated to save, deliver and take away the barriers the enemy put on your path to paralyze the pre-planned programs of God for your life, or to make sure they are not fulfilled. The power of God needs to take them away so that you can have a smooth sail. God demonstrated this in the deliverance of Israel from Egypt.
If your destiny is trapped in an Egyptian kind of bondage, it will need the greatness of God’s power to be free. You will never learn that from a secular university. You will only learn that from the lives and times of the Jews while in Egypt.
He smashed the God’s of Egypt, pulled Israel out of the iron fist of Pharaoh, parted the red sea, kept them for 40 years in the hot desert, and settled their children in the promised land, all by His power. The power manifested as the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. In describing that power, the Bible says:
“When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back.” Psalm 114:1-3 NKJV
What was it that the see saw and fled? What was it that drove Jordan back? It was the power of God that the presence of God brings. That was the very power that took Isreal from Egypt to the Promised land. Both the sea and Jordan could not withstand it.
THE SAME POWER IS WHAT YOU NEED!!
You need something from Heaven, something that when your enemies see they will flee. Something that when those who rise against you see, they will be driven back. You need the power of God in your life to unleash all that God has hidden in your life to be unleashed.
But it never started with Israel in Egypt, it started with Abram from the land of the Chaldeans. Israel was carved out of his loins all by God’s power. It was God’s power, that took Him from Abram to Abraham. It was God’s power that called him alone and blessed him to become a father of many nations today.
It was God’s power that rated him as one who did not stagger in faith but believed God for the birth of Isaac. There would have been no Abraham if there was no power of God at work. In the same way, there will be no you, if God’s power is not at work in your life.
Yes, there is nothing or little you can become if God’s power is not at work in your life. There is very little you can accomplish, if God’s power is not at work in your life. There is very little you can withstand if God’s power is not at work in your life. There is very little fortune you can build in life if God’s power is not at work in your life.
God’s power is what we all need today to get or stay married, God’s power is what we all need today to not labor in vain and bring forth for trouble. God’s power is what we need today to be all that God wants us to be.
By His power He raised Jesus from the dead, declared Him to be the Head of the Church, and brought the gates of hell to its knees. It is by His power that you will see the things God has preplanned to do with your life, move from the declaration to the manifestation.
Do not think that it will be by your skills.
IF GOD’S POWER IS NOT AT WORK IN YOUR LIFE, FORGET ABOUT BECOMING WHAT HE HAS DESTINED YOU TO BE.
It is the working of God’s power in your life that will hinder your sins, your mistakes, your ignorance, and the enemies of your life from stopping you permanently in the journey of destiny. If God gives me an option to choose between having people and having His power in my life, I will chose having His power.
If His power is at work in our lives, it will bring people and provisions to us. It will take put barriers and make sure we succeed in life.
The Bible says say, “unto GOD, how great are you. Through the greatness of your power shall your enemy submit themselves.” That was why, when GOD created man in the beginning, He placed Him on the wings of His power, and when He birth the Church, He also placed her on the wings of power.
It was not just any power, but apostolic power.
Apostolic power refers to the very power that was at work in the early church, that established the church according to divine pattern. It is a power that only functions when things are in the order of Christ or geared towards bringing His will to pass. It performs the desire of the LORD upon the enemy of God’s people.
A major highlight in our devotional text this morning says:
“For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.”
This scripture contains one of the exploits of God’s power. It delivers us even out of troubles and performs our desire on our enemies.
What is the message of our devotion this morning? The message is simple; you need a regular encounter with God’s power, not any other power to unleash your destiny. You will need the apostolic power of God in your life to succeed in any endeavor that is related to your divine destiny. That is the message!!!
God did not create the human life to survive outside His power. In Genesis Chapter 1:26-27, that power was called dominion. The dominion was lost in the fall of man. But now it is restored. You can access it anytime by becoming part of a Church or ministry that moves in apostolic signs like the early Church.
