TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 22nd July 2025)
“Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: “I will sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!
“The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.”

WELCOME TO THE 203rd DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY!
Glory be to the Most High God for making it possible for us to see this day.
Sometimes you sleep in pain, emanating from disappointments, and wake up not feeling like you even want to go on with life. But God’s mercy has a way of seeing a man through. It has a way of forcing hope out of a man’s heart.
May His mercies come through for you!!!
The Bible spoke about Paul going through a lot of perils in his own time. That has been my territory for destiny men and women. One of the worst perils you can go through as a man or woman of destiny is the peril of people who walk in falsehood, who can lie in the language of truth and say things that are outrightly lies. The Bible calls them, the flood of lies.
May the LORD grant you victory over liars in Jesus precious name. Amen
We have been looking at what our destiny needs to be fulfilled. One of the major things you will need to fulfill your destiny is victory over lies, and that is what we want to look at. Sadly, some of the most damaging liars on earth are in the four walls of our local Church buildings.
You must overcome the lies they tell and the slander they spread to become what God want you to be.
The kind of falsehood that thrives among some Church members and wickedness that lives in their hearts is alarming. You must overcome all that, because a lot of destinies have been wasted and rendered unfulfilled by damaging liars in Church.
IF YOUR DESTINY IS TRAPPED BY THE FLOOD OF LIES TOLD AGAINST YOU, IT WILL NOT BE FULFILLED UNTIL GOD MOVE AGAINST THE LIES.
Your destiny might, therefore, need such moves of God to be fulfilled. Do not forget, what people say about you will either play a role in helping you fulfill your destiny or halting your match towards a glorious destiny. So, if people spread things about you, those your destiny needs to be fulfilled will be kept outside your life by the slander, the lies or falsehood being peddled about you.
I have been there almost all my ministry life. As soon as you say yes to destiny, Satan will always raise men and women to push you back one way or the other. In my case it was the refuge of lies he used to push me back. It all started when I was a teenager, that was the very period I started ministry.
My first baptism of fire with the flood or refuge of lies, slander, disinformation, distortion of truth and misinformation peddled against me by church people, elders etc., came when I was still that young in ministry. The next one came when I was 27, after about ten years in ministry.
They all left me with eyes that remained wet for a long time. In one of those Baptisms, a man boasted that he will go round and say anything that will shut down our young ministry. I was shocked at the audacity of lies he told and lethality of the unclean spirit he operated with. Since then, I have seen a lot.
Even here in Kenya we still see those forms of attacks. Satan will always find someone in church to do his work, it’s sad.
Friends, I have been lied against all my life but have also seen God wipe away the flood of lies spewed at me. I submit to you that God is faithful. He will never allow you to sink or be carried away into oblivion by the flood of lies, misinformation, distortion of truth, outright falsehood and deceit people spew to destroy you. He will always come through for you. He said in his words:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.
Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place. Isaiah 28:16-17 NKJV
THIS SCRIPTURE CONTAINS WHAT GOD WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR LIFE TO ENABLE YOU TO FULFILL YOUR DESTINY.
Believe it and stand on it and seek Him in prayer to send a supernatural hail to sweep away any refuge of lies contending with your peace, prosperity, joy or the release of your destiny.
However, make sure you are blameless. God has a history of sweeping away the refuse of lies hindering any of us, but we must be blameless.
David was one person whose destiny would have been defeated and rendered unfulfilled because of the flood of lies he battled with.
If you study his life, you will realize that Saul pursued him for over 13 years and would have killed him on some occasions if God had not intervened, just because of what people were saying to him about David. And David said to Saul:
“Why do you listen to the words of men who say, ‘Indeed David seeks your harm’?
Look, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, ‘I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed.’
Moreover, my father, see! Yes, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you hunt my life to take it.
Let the Lord judge between you and me, and let the Lord avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you.
As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.’ But my hand shall not be against you. After whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea?
Therefore let the Lord be judge, and judge between you and me, and see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.” 1 Samuel 24:9-15 NKJV
THIS SCRIPTURE TELLS US HOW DAVID’S BATTLE WITH SAUL WAS INFLAMED BY LIES.
History has it that people died. People died because they believed lies about David and fought against him. This is still happening nowadays. People have believed lies told against God’s men on assignment and fought against the men. Sadly, they died fighting against the purpose of God.
You see, the lies people spread about a destiny person can sway hearts that does not investigate facts before believing them, to fight against the person, consequently fighting against God’s purpose. But God will not allow His purposes to be hindered. He will always come through to sweep away the refuge of lies one way or the other.
For David, God came through, that was why he succeeded Saul. The house of Saul kept diminishing until it was no more. May the LORD come through for you. May those spreading deceit, lies, misinformation and disinformation against you continue to diminish until their relevance and power are no more in Jesus precious name. Amen!!
Let me conclude this word with this; Sadly, many people are already shaped by the horrors of the last days to believe things, especially against genuine men and women of destiny or genuine servants of the LORD on special assignments for the LORD without fact checking them.
So, lies, disinformation and misinformation always find people to believe or fuel them. Saul was jealous, but it would not have resulted in a 13-year pursuit to kill David if people had not said things to him about Davd. What they said inflamed his jealousy and prepared his heart to house the demon that never wanted David to be on the throne. The lies he was told about David prepared his heart to be used by Satan.
IT IS DANGEROUS TO BELIEVE LIES PEOPLE SAY ABOUT MEN AND WOMEN OF DESTINY.
Your faith in those lies will recruit you in your ignorance to begin to say or do things that work against God’s purpose. Some will even be innocently recruited to become lethal weapons of Satan in that regard.
He will begin to use them successfully to paralyze the work of the LORD. But like earlier stated, God will always come through for His purposes and people. Those who allow themselves to be used are the ones that will be punishment by time for partnering with Satan to fight God’s purpose.
They will come to the place of decline, where they will begin to diminish in life like the house of Saul.
I have seen quite a number go down that way. But if you are going through the kind of attack David went through, cheer up. Let this word of the LORD that came via the sweet Psalmist of Israel from our devotional text speak to your heart.
“The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.”
Yes, God is a man of war. Do not think He will lose the war. Cling to His warfare tactics and believe in His ability to fight your battle with the refuge of lies and all that.
Trust Him to deploy His weapons of war to save you and remain focused on what He has called you to do. Also live each day building yourself in your most holy faith, so that your faith will not fail before victory comes, because it is on the way. Amen and amen!!!
