TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 14th August 2025)
“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.
Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Isaiah 2:2-3 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 226TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
We bless the LORD for another glorious day from God. The Bible says daily He loads us with benefits. Our lives reflect the benefits the LORD loads us with daily. We are alive because His Spirit has made us, and His breath gives us life.
If you think being alive for 226 days without paying for the air you breathe in, the number of times your heart has beaten, the number of times your blood has circulated and all that, is something to just wish away, you need to wake up. God has been the reason for all that and He deserves our praise.
Today there is a word from Him as He has always given us, a word on what our divine destiny needs to be fulfilled. But we are going to start with a prophetic note.
Our devotional text today is full of prophetic insight, and it is proper that we scratch a bit of it.
Prophetically, we are in the days of the exaltation of the end time Church, not the horn of Babylon that some call church but the true church. A people who calls Him “LORD, LORD” and maintains moral excellence, doing what He says about everything!!
If you are part of this breed, these are days of your exaltation.
These people are to be lifted above all the mountains and exalted above the hills because of what God want to do with them. That is the agenda of GOD for them this end time.
The mountains are not permitted to stand before the true church. It is a season of making God known by great exploits; great exploits guided by all the truths the Holy Spirit may lead a man to. The Bible says,
“The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.” Psalms 25:9-10 NKJV
We have seen several things that our divine destiny needs to be fulfilled. Today we will be looking at the next one. I hope we are ready to feed on God’s word.
The next thing that your divine destiny needs to be fulfilled is humility; yes, humility. We said humility not stupidity. Humility by God’s design remains one of the greatest faith positions to take if you want to unleash your destiny in God’s design.
UNDERSTAND THAT GOD HAS NOT STOPPED RESISTING THE PROUD AND HE HAS NOT RETIRED FROM GIVING GRACE (OR MERCY) TO THE HUMBLE.
The easiest way to keep GOD promoting you without you asking for it is to lead a life full of humility. I have come to discover that in the Church today you see a funny thing happening. You see God looking for the humble to promote and the proud looking for GOD to promote them. It’s really an irony.
The Bible says,
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. …” 2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV
This scripture is clear. It’s important to do what will make GOD look for you to show Himself mighty on your behalf than to do anything else. It’s better to be humble so that God HIMSELF will promote you than to be proud and then spend many days doing many religious things to beg Him to promote you.
Today it’s very clear that instead of taking a seat with the humble for GOD to promote them, the proud are busying going about forcing God through all forms of prayers, giving, and religious exercises to promote them.
I want to admonish us that if we want GOD to promote us, we should stop asking Him for it. We should rather take a seat with the humble and be Humble before Him and He will rush to us to promote us.
The Bible is full of gracious words for the humble and terrible words for the proud.
That is why the worst thing to do as a Child of God is to defend your pride. There is a great call for us to crucify ourselves. No Crucified Child of God has any pride left to defend.
IT’S ALL BEEN LAID DOWN AT THE ALTAR OF DIVINE WILL AND WAYS. HALLELUJAH!
The Bible says,
“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24 NKJV
Defending one’s pride is a desire of the flesh not the Spirit. That is why such words do not come out of the life of the Crucified! You will never fulfill a divine destiny walking in pride. You may fulfill a destiny but not a divine destiny. Anything divine requires humility for it to be backed by God.
Even Jesus, God made flesh, had to pass through the pathways of humility to fulfill His destiny as the Messiah.
The Bible teaches that we should let the very mind He operated while living in His days of flesh be in us also. In other words, we should follow the very pathways of humility that He followed while unleashing His destiny as a son of man. If we do, God will exalt us beyond human comprehension.
The new king James version of the Bible put it this way:
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 NKJV
You cannot follow what is stated in this scripture to release your destiny and not see God backing you from start to finish. The life of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ as documented in this scripture stands out as a worthy pattern to follow. Thank God, He gave us His Holy Spirit to help us!!
AS WE BRING THIS TO A CLOSE, PERMIT ME TO ADMONISH US TO TAKE A DEEP WALK THROUGH EVERY STATEMENT IN THIS DEVOTIONAL.
I counsel that we knee before this well of truth and draw virtues from Heaven, because so many are full of pride – they are too full to be filled by GOD! God will want to fill them but there is always no space. They have filled every part of their lives with pride.
The Bible says,
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10 KJV
I don’t know how else you want to do it, but the Bible teaches that Humility is the key. Whatever God designed to come to us through humility, will never come to us through any other means, and a lot in God’s kingdom come through humility.
While humility is God’s property and a fruit of a sanctified human spirit, pride is Satan’s property and work of the flesh. “Pride is the excessive estimation of oneself or an over estimation of one self.” Humility is the accurate estimation of oneself. That is what we all need to fulfill our destiny!!!
People who overestimate themselves will live an accursed life on the face of the earth. They will not step into higher dimensions of blessings in God’s kingdom.
Finally, let me also speak to those of us who have become successful and prideful; do not allow God to enroll you into the UNIVERSITY OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR. Just humble yourself!
