THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 17th August 2025)

“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”

“Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.” Isaiah 5:13-14 KJV

WELCOME TO THE 229TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

In our devotional yesterday we saw the relationship between unplugging our souls from hell the spirit, and the prosperity of the righteous.

The essence of divine process is to unplug our souls from hell and plug us to the Glory! The glory is the storehouse of the wealth of the righteous; until we plug into it we will not experience the prosperity of the righteous. That is why we are going to reinforce the truth shared yesterday in today’s devotional.

Every student of Bible Prophecy knows that we live in a season where money will never come to a Child of God in God’s way, except Heavenly portals open over his or her life. If Heavenly portals open over our lives, we will see God’s glory penetrating our realm to supply our needs according to His riches in glory.

Now, how do I live under the portal of Heaven for my economic freedom? It’s simple! Unplug from the spirit of hell by making sure your senses are not controlled by the carnal and plug on to the Spirit of glory; the Holy Spirit, and then you will begin to live a life that opens Heavenly portals over earth. But how can that be done?” You may ask! It’s simple!

There are two ways to do it. You begin by unplugging your soul from the influence of the spirit of hell by becoming spiritually minded, because a soul that is unplugged from hell will be plugged into God’s glory automatically because there is no vacuum in the spirit. “But why hell?” you may ask again.

You see, because of the fall of man, everyone is born with a soul that is more receptive to hell than Heaven. In other words, the fall of man plugged all into hell when Adam sinned. You find this explained in the book of Romans 5 and 6. Now you may say, “I am born again, my soul is not plugged to hell.”

WELL, THAT IS TRUE BUT HALF OF THE TRUTH.

Our human spirits are unplugged from hell through genuine salvation experience, but our souls are not until we intentionally get them unplugged by not conforming to this world but getting transformed by the renewing of our minds.

That means, it takes personal efforts empowered by the grace of God to unplug the soul from hell daily. That is why the Bible admonished us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. In other words, we are to extend what has taken place in the human spirit to our soul through grace. One of such grace is the grace of meditating in God’s word.

To meditate in God’s word is to mutter God’s word to yourself. Prosperity is tied to meditation in God’s word. You find this in Joshua 1:8. People who unplug from hell by meditating in GOD’s word daily will suddenly plug into the glory of God where their prosperity lies, changing their economic lives radically. The psalmist explains it this way:

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.”

“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV

In the light of this scripture, the first way to unplug from hell and plug into the glory is to personally work out your salvation with fear and trembling on daily basis by spending time with the word. The second way lies in what Jesus said in Matthew 16:18.

He said,

“On this rock I will build my Church, the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”

If you read between the lines of this declaration, you will understand that we are in a constant battle against the gates or spirit of hell; and don’t forget, hell is a place, hell is also a spirit, and hell can be a person. The Bible says the wicked will be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God.

MEANING HELL CAN EVEN BE A NATION!

Our devotional text made it clear that lack of EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE OF GOD is the reason people are plugged unto the spirit of hell, which in turn take them to the place called hell.

Experiential knowledge of God comes through personal time with God’s word and sitting under apostolic and prophetic ministries with the knowledge of God’s glory and the revelation of Jesus Christ on their lips.

Apostolic and prophetic ministries hold the rock of revelation for building the saints into temples for God in the spirit.

They are the building tools of Jesus Christ in the Church today. That is why you see the Evangelist giving way to Apostles in Acts 8 after getting the people saved! A people under a genuine apostolic grace may never come under the gates of hell because of the constant apostolic construction they go through.

Sadly, today we no longer have many people under this kind of grace. Majority are just under people with titles but no skill for building the spiritual lives of people. That is basically because of greed for gain and lack of knowledge. Even people who cannot build their own lives now have congregations under them calling them “Pastor” and taking on other titles to satisfy their egos.

Friend, exposing yourself to deep teachings that centers on the revelation of Jesus Christ and the knowledge of His glory, instead of motivational talk, old wives fables, human philosophy, or secular humanism is the second way to unplug from hell and plug on to glory!

The church is facing an ichabod situation today. The true word of the LORD has become very rare. Preachers with the spiritual word and skill to build people into temples for God in the spirit are almost nonexistent. People now eat dead spiritual things and stolen revelation calling them “powerful” because they do not even know what living truths sound like.

WE ARE FULL OF SELF-HELP GOSPELS AND INSPIRATIONAL PREACHING THAT IS NOT HELPFUL IN THE BATTLE AGAINST HELL.

That is why you find people full of joy while in Church but full of disappointment when they get home to face reality. Others have been promised liberty for ages, yet they are still in captivity. Being Jubilant in Church and sad at home is a sign that the spirit of hell is holding you captive and you are descending into hell the place.
It says,

“he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.”

No man-made gospel will unplug your soul from hell the spirit because man-made gospel and the stealing of other people’s messages to preach, (maybe to sound as if you are called of God), is inspired by the spirit of hell. In fact, hell is the power behind all half-truths being peddled in Church, and all inspirational preaching that make you happy in Church but cannot help you when you face reality!

So, there is no way you can unplug from hell listening to teachings and preaching inspired by hell. I have said it repeatedly that what you eat will eat you. We must all be careful of what we hear or allow into our hearts.

As you pass through this day, make fresh plans on your spiritual diet. What you eat will eat you.

What your spirit is feeding on will feed on you. If you feed your spirit with messages preached from stolen waters, you will never come into the prosperity of the righteous. The Bible says stolen waters are sweet, but they will not produce a sweet life at the end.

You may need to change the Church you attend, the preacher you drink from, and the books you read in preparation for the prosperity of the righteous. Living outside the glory environment where your wealth is stored will keep your life miserable! Do not forget that.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY!!

“And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

“Then it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days,” says the Lord, “that they will say no more, ‘The ark of the covenant of the Lord.’ It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore. Jeremiah 3:15-16 NKJV
