TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 16th September 2025)
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,”
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 259TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
Sometimes you wake up in the morning thinking of how beautiful the holy scriptures are, and how your life would have been without words from the Bible. It is, indeed, God’s book of life before the book of life that will be opened in the day of reckoning.
It is a book of life that prepares us for the book of life. It helps us to have our names written in the book of life that would be opened in the eternal future. God has preserved its content with His presence, because each part was tested by fire, the fire that those God used to write it passed through.
That is why no part of the Bible that is useless today as some puts it. All scripture is given by the inspiration of the Almighty for doctrine, not for errors. It is given for doctrine, and one of the beautiful doctrines you will find in the Bible is in the book of Lamentation, a book that many do not read.
I don’t think 90 percent of Christians read that book today. It is a book that teaches the justice system of God and the cost of sin. It helps you to live right and make sure sin does not have dominion over you. It spoke about what happened to mankind in the fall and all that. But it was written by Jeremiah when he was lamenting over the ungodly deeds of the nation of Israel and how it thrust them into spiritual trauma.
There were seven feasts that Isreal celebrated that holds a lot of truths about our common salvation. The book of lamentation was read during the celebration of the feasts. That is how important it is. It is a book that focused on the trauma experienced under the hands of Nebuchadnezzar’s military force by the kingdom of Judah, where the messianic seed was.
IT IS FULL OF GREAT STATEMENTS OF FAITH FOR THE PRESENT-DAY BELIEVER.
In it, are so many beautiful statements that some quote without knowing where they came from. One of them says, it is out if the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, for His compassion fails not.
Indeed, if it was not for God’s mercies, our sins would have consumed us. Our ungodly acts would have vanquished us and made our lands devour us. But blessed be the name of the LORD who has not given us to the teeth of the consequences of our sinful deeds. It is important that we begin each day by acknowledging this great act of God’s mercies, even if we are not living in sin, because sin is living in all of us.
There are other verses and statements in the book of revelation that boost the fear of God in the hearts of the righteous.
But one beautiful statement in the book that helps our faith, especially in the day of adversity says, “who is he that says, and it comes to pass when the LORD has not spoken.” This is the statement that gives us confidence that no matter what the enemy says, what God says will overrule. It helps us to trust only in what God’s says and nothing else.
It delivers us from fear, the threats of the enemy, evil sentences passed over us by witches, wizards, false prophets and prophetesses, the aggrieved and demoniac, etc. It helps us to stand in faith and trust God for our protection, deliverance, provision, and even our lives.
It is a book that tells us so much about the power of seed, time and harvest, when it comes to consequences of sin. That brings us to something else we want to talk about, the power of the seed. If you have been a victim of charismatic robbery that happened to you by the adulteration of the seed faith principle, your heart will skip if you read statements like, “the power of the seed.”
Few years ago, while teaching on how eternity invades time, we made a statement saying, “it is your seed that allows eternity to invade time with finished works”.
THIS WAS BY NO MEANS REFERRING TO THE MONEY PEOPLE GIVE AS SEED, NO!!IT WAS A REFERENCE TO A DEEP SPIRITUAL TRUTH.
It is important that we look at that truth today. To start with, understand that God did not create the seed time and harvest principle to help corrupt, misguided and spiritually blind preachers gain financial fatness. God created the principle to teach us how to bring into time what He has finished in eternity concerning us.
Let no one deceive you, because the Church was not established by Christ to be a money-making machine. Therefore, wherever the principle of seed time and harvest is reduced to a money getting principle, the gate of hell is not too far from you.
You see, the gates of hell are responsible for the mutilation of scriptures. They are responsible for the use of great scriptures like the one on seed, time and harvest for money spinning. Yes, the principle covers money and all that concerns a believer, but it is not a money getting tool for us.
Doubtlessly, God wants us to prosper financially than anyone on the face of the earth, and the principle of seed, time and Harvest, is one of the universal principles you see Him engage in helping us become all He has called us to be and not just to prosper economically.
If you find a preacher majoring on money by any means, that man’s or woman’s heart has departed from the LORD!! The Bible teaches that you do not need to monetize scriptures or turn them into your own image and likeness to have money. Wherever you find the gospel commercialized, the spirit of the anti-Christ is at work.
I want us to understand that there is a battle called the battle of seeds. We all face that battle. The seed to sow to have eternity invade your life with blessings is the seed of obedience, the seed of being sold out to doing the will of God.
If you are sold out to God’s will, after a time you will find yourself breaking into levels of commitment where you become a seed, and God becomes your harvest, hallelujah!! That is the level Satan fears. It is a level he does not want anyone to get to, hence powering the perversion of the principle.
THAT IS WHERE JESUS OPERATED FROM, HENCE BECOMING THE RIGHTEOUS SEED.
Friend, the devil will fight to stop you from knowing and sowing the right seed of commitment that will allow eternity to invade your life with God’s finished works for the earth. And if eventually you come to the knowledge of it, he will not allow you to come to the knowledge of the right place to be, to sow that seed of commitment to God’s will.
So many Christians operate the seed faith principle in money matters alone. We do not know it governs every other aspect of our lives on earth. Those who limit it to money alone have perverted the principle. But the principle is God’s system of creating in our lives things that never existed before.
It is His system for changing lives, His system for moving things He has finished in His eternal plans and purposes, and through the finished works of the cross, into time, into our lives. People who do not understand this system will remain with battered lives on earth. It is not a system to be debated but submitted to with a perfect understanding of what it is.
It is important to understand that God’s plans for changing our lives are finished.
His plans for your marriage are finished, His plan for your economic life is finished, His plans for whatever He wants you to become on earth have been completed and finished. What remains is for you to come into the revelation of them and then sow the seed of life commitment that will move them from the invisible realm that they are now, into your life.
Now, whatever God has finished about your life dwell in eternity not time! It dwells beyond the reach of devils, witches, wizards etc. That is why no demon can destroy your blessing or destiny because they are not in time. The only thing the devil can do is to make you ignorant or pervert the system for bringing these finished things down into your life on earth.
SOMETIMES HE DOES THAT BY MAKING SURE YOU DO NOT SOW THE SEED OF COMMITMENT YOU NEED TO SOW OVER TIME.
He made Samson to withdraw the seed of commitment he had been sowing, a seed that brought a great harvest of power from eternity to time. This he did by placing a Delilah in the space of his life. He made Isreal to withdraw the seed of commitment that would have taken them to the Promised land.
He made Adam to withdraw the seed of commitment that kept him in the Garden, by speaking with the love of his life to influence him to do it. She did, and all hell let loosed on humanity. Adam lost the Garden. You will lose any blessing if you withdraw your seed of commitment to God.
You will move from glory to reproach if you allow the devil to make you cease from being a Sower, one who sows seeds of commitment to God’s will and ways.
The LORD sent this word to warn us, and to stir us towards the paths of great fulfillment of His will for our lives. He wants us to be aware of the possibilities of Satan. He wants us to know that the enemy can make sure we do not do what will bring into manifestation God’s finished works in our lives.
He wants us to know where the battle lines are drawn, so that we can walk in wisdom and win. Do not forget that Satan attempted stopping Jesus from dying on the Cross at one time. You remember when Peter took Him aside and said to Him, “far be it from you, you are not dying on any cross?” (so to speak)!!
Satan will not let us do what will break his kingdom down. He will not want us to fall and die the death of self, flesh, etc. to bring forth much fruit. He will not want us to live as Sowers.
The Bible says if a seed of corn falls and die, it will bring forth. In other words, if the seed of the righteous offer the right commitment to God, he will bring forth what God has finished in eternity into his life in time. Our devotional text says, “God gives seed to the Sower”.
The Sower within context is that man or woman who is sold out to God’s will and ways. The seed God gives him or her to sow is the word that conveys or propels him or her to become sold out to God’s way or will. The harvest is what the eternal God creates in his or her life in response to their commitment to His will and ways.
May the LORD use these truths to fire you into victorious living. Amen!!
