TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 2ND October 2025)
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, “No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; Psalm 91:9-10 NKJV
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.” Psalm 91:13 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 275TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
It is another time of spiritual refreshment from the LORD as we start the second day of the tenth month of 2025. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
Yesterday the LORD spoke to us about overlapping blessings. People who feed on what proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD will be positioned for overlapping blessings. May you be positioned for the same this month.
You know, life can be unpredictable because of the lions that roam the realm of the spirit. God’s will is that none of us will be food for those lions this month. But it will also depend on what we feed our spirits with daily. A generation that feeds on what proceeds from the mouth of the LORD will not fall into the mouth of lions.
Daniel was one! He chose to live by what proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD for his life, not by the wicked rule that was passed to trap him. Consequently, he could not be eaten by lions. His life teaches that it is those who live by the rule of men that can be eaten by lions, not those who live by God’s rule.
Yes, those who survive by doctor’s report, what the government says, what witch doctors called prophet say, or by the tenants of the self-help gospel or any form of secular humanism, can be eaten by the lions, not those who feed on God’s word for their lives.
The Cry of the Spirit devotionals is God’s word for our lives. God’s word is God Himself. When you feed on it, you are feeding on God.
The Bible says:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” John 1:1-2 NKJV
This scripture made it clear that God and His word are one. So, if we feed on God’s word, we are feeding on God. Devils cannot eat people who feed on God. His fire in their bones will consume his mouth and destroy His works.
GOD’S WORD IS FIRE, AND GOD’S WORD HAS A FIRE.
That fire is the manifest presence of God. That is why people who feed on God’s word and live by it do not lack His manifest presence.
Abraham left his father’s house by the word of the LORD and was kept by God’s manifest presence. The Israelites fed on God’s word in form of manna, for 40 years and the manifest presence of God stood over them as a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day all through the period.
You will never lack God’s manifest presence in your life if you feed on His word and live by it daily. There are those who feed on the word but do not live by the word, hence not having the manifest presence of God needed to survive or succeed by righteousness in a wicked world.
You find them either suffering despite feeding on God’s word or corrupting their ways to succeed.
When a child of God corrupts their ways to succeed, their success will be eaten by lions. They will lack what it takes to neutralize them, hence having near success syndrome or short-term successes. People have blamed things like these on some evil altars or evil foundations, but God’s word blames them on not having sufficient presence of God to deal with lions.
These invisible lions are responsible for all the evil that happens that preachers blame on monitoring spirits, spirit wives or spirit husbands, spirit of rejection, evil patterns, generational curses, or voices crying against people from the village. If you do not carry sufficient presence of God, you will end up either living a life of misery or corrupting yourself to survive. The invisible lions will not let you have a peaceful life on earth.
I reiterate again that these lions can only be neutralized by God’s manifest presence. It was God’s manifest presence that shut down the mouths of lions for Daniel, and it remains the eternal solution of God for all problems and will still do in our lives what it did for Daniel, if we feed on God’s word and live by it.
SO, YOU MAY BE LIVING IN THE LION’S DEN, GOD SENT THIS WORD TO TELL YOU TO FEAR NOT. JUST BEGIN TO FEED ON HIS WORD AND LIVE BY IT.
Living in a lion’s den cannot affect one’s destiny if they are feeding on and living by God’s word. His manifest presence will preserve them from the mouth of the lions. It is my prayer that no lion will eat you this month, as you feed on the word of the LORD and live by it, in Jesus precious name.
I pray that all lions are far from us. That the LORD builds His presence around all that concerns us and keep them off from our prosperity and posterity. Yes, may they all be far from our lives, wives, husbands, families, sons, daughters, finances, and whatever gives us joy and bliss in Jesus precious name!!
You may say where you live there are no lions, well that may be true, but the word lion within context is a metaphor for evil. So, when we say, “may no lion eat you,” we are putting a prayer cover over your life against all forms of evil. The presence of God is the cover that the prayer brings upon a person.
Our devotional text calls it the shadow of the Almighty. A major part of it says:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV
When you feed on God’s word daily and apply its truth to your life or live by it, a time will come that the presence of God will become dense around you until it becomes like a refuge, or safe house over your life. That is where God wants us to live our earthly lives from.
Christians who do not live their earthly lives from there will have a lot to suffer, except they begin to corrupt themselves to survive. The place of the manifest presence of God called “my refuge” is the only place that all He promises God made to us can come to pass.
IT IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT WE CAN BE HIDDEN FROM THE INVISIBLE LIONS ROAMING OUR PLANET.
That is the only place where no evil can befall the righteous, it is the place that the invisible lions cannot penetrate. Sadly, many believers do not live there, hence suffering so much, and leaving the young in faith wondering why God is not intervening. God’s manifest presence cannot intervene where it does not exist in its chabud or high-density form.
It must be a safe house for us, before we can see certain interventions. For that to happen, we must feed on God’s word daily and live by it. Another portion of our devotional text put it this way:
“Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, “No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; Psalm 91:9-10 NKJV
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.” Psalm 91:13 NKJV
What a promise to those who will make God their refuge by feeding on His word and living by it. The manifest presence of the LORD they will enjoy will be out of this world. The LORD will be their refuge and the lions (ravaging evil) and the cobras (sudden strikes of wicked or aggrieved people in our lives) will be neutralized.
Child of God, I do not know what the devil has planned for your life this month, but I know what God has planned. He has planned overlapping blessings and protection from the lions and the cobras. But you must live a life that is hidden in the safe house of His manifest presence.
God sent this word to ask you to do so!!
It is my prayer that you will apply it to your life and run the race of your life this month with it, in Jesus precious name. Amen!!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Psalm 91:3-8 NKJV
