TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 8TH October 2025)
“I will bless the Lord, who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore, my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety, For You will not abandon me to Sheol (the place of the dead), neither will You suffer Your holy one [Holy One] to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Psalms 16:7-11 AMPC
WELCOME TO THE 281ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
God has been faithful to us, and we thank Him. The year has been smooth for us, not because there were no wars but because the man of war is fighting the wars. He is the reason for our peace, livelihood and sustenance.
To Him belong the glory!!! Amen and amen.
His counsels that came in our night seasons, His instructions that were distilled upon our hearts, and His presence that is always before us, have been the sources of the gladness in our hearts. Indeed, He is the God who will never abandon His own in Shoel, nor allow those who seek Him to see corruption.
He has been showing us the path of life on this platform; in His presence has been the fulness of our joy and at His right hand the guarantee of the pleasures we need forever more. That is why we cannot afford to be away from His presence.
It is the only place we can find the reason to be alive. If you do not make God’s active presence your dwelling place, you will wake up one day to find no reason to be alive and maybe take away your life. The world as we know it now is under a curse. Only the active presence of God can keep us in perfect peace in an accursed world.
The Bible says:
“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” 1 John 5:19 NKJV
Only God’s active presence can make us not of this world in spirit and in truth. Nothing else can help us achieve that. Not a bottle of oil from a preacher, the raising of an altar by a greedy dog called man of God, the use of prayer clothes, holy water, or salt in prayer.
THE CHURCH HAS BEEN DECEIVED FOR TOO LONG BY THESE RELIGIOUS RELICS THAT OFFER NO HELP EXCEPT TO THE PREACHERS.
Nothing can give you the rest that only comes when you become one who dwells in God’s active presence. It is the only place we find the pleasures that exist at God’s right hand. Yes, it is the only place we can find pleasures that exist forever more; pleasures that transcend the power of time.
Not carnal or sinful pleasures that our nature crave for, but the pleasures of God’s right hand. The word of the LORD says, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”
I have come to discover that the greatest force that fuels a sinful life is our carnal cravings. The Bible calls them “pleasure of sin.” It is the pleasure of sin that led to the fall of man, the adultery of David, the loss of power in Samson’s life and the rise of the spiritually cataclysmic generation of Noah.
Once we become driven by the pleasures of sin, we can do anything ungodly.
We can forget that we are even saved and need to live a pure life. Yes, once we become driven by the pleasure of sin, especially sexual sin, we can even sleep with any woman or man we are not married to and do anything that will give us pleasure with our bodies.
People are hooked on to pornography, masturbation, sexual addiction, drug addiction, alcohol addiction and all that because of the desire to extract some pleasure from the acts. The desire for the pleasure of sin now drives their senses.
Once that desire becomes the driver of our senses, we will begin to pay any price to be satisfied, and finally come to a place of depravity, where we can no longer esteem the reproach of Christ greater riches above the pleasures of this world, the pleasures of Egypt, hence halting things God wants to do with us, or in us, from being done.
CONCERNING MOSES, THE BIBLE SAYS:
“By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” Hebrews 11:24-26 NKJV
Child of God, the last frontier to cross to step into anything glorious in Christ is in this scripture. That frontier is the frontier of esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the pleasure of this world.
We can only cross that frontier if our desire for the pleasures of this world no longer exists because of our desires for the pleasures at God’s right hand. In simple terms, the desire for the pleasures at God’s right hand must be kindled for us not to desire the pleasure of sin, especially to the point of seeking to satisfy them.
It must be kindled to overwrite the possible desire for sinful pleasure that might spring forth. Let me put it in another way; the pleasures found at God’s right hand must be in our hearts to prevent our carnal nature from dragging us on the path of fulfilling its carnal desires.
It is usually placed by the Holy Spirit in our sanctified human spirits.
If you find yourself on the path of fulfilling your carnal desires all the time, or the path of seeking to enjoy any sinful pleasure whenever you see it or are given the opportunity, it is because your heart has either not been filled with the revelation of the pleasures in God’s presence, the pleasures at His right hand, or you have lost the desire for them.
Once your heart is filled with the revelation of what they are, and you allow the Holy Spirit to move you, the desire to have them will be kindled in your soul to help you overcome any desire for sinful pleasures.
We must understand that God’s way of helping us to shut down sinful desires in our lives is by replacing them with the desires for the pleasures at His right hand, the pleasures of His presence, through the process discussed above.
ONCE WE BEGIN TO DESIRE THE PLEASURES AT HIS RIGHT HAND, WE WILL BEGIN TO PAY ANY PRICE TO CRUCIFY THE FLESH.
But you cannot desire what you do not know, what you have not seen in another person’s life and crave for. So, in closing, I think we should share something about the pleasures at God’s right hand.
The right hand of God is metaphorically the place of God’s will. It is the place of His might, strength and power because the place of God’s will is the very place where His strength, might and power exist.
The pleasures at God’s right hand refers to the eternal joy, satisfaction, and favors that penetrates our souls and even bodies when we pay the price and find a peg in the active presence of God. It refers to the metaphorical state of complete spiritual fulfilment and divine blessing that last forever.
These pleasures represent the highest form of happiness, and joy that surpasses world satisfaction. They are the very pleasure that are to fill our souls and prevent us from yielding to the craving for sinful pressure that lies deep in every man’s soul. It is something that cannot be offered by any other thing other than finding your peg in the active presence of the LORD.
When they penetrate our souls or our beings, they manifest in and through us as the power, authority and honor of moving in the glory of the LORD, like Moses and the rest of the prophets had.
The one on Elijah’s life for instance, manifested as chariots of fire that make him disappear into the thin air. That of Moses made his physical face to shine, and that of Jesus as man, gave Him the ability to raise people from the dead like they were sleeping, open blind eyes like the eyes were just closed, and do so many wonders that even our age still struggle to fathom.
The one on the early apostles made them to transform the moral climates of their days so much that devils choked in cities they enter. Yours is waiting for you. It is my prayer that this word will propel you to go get it. Amen
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!
“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.” Revelation 4:1-2 NKJV
