TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 4TH November 2025)
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:21-24 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 308TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
What more can we say, “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side,” Let Israel now say— “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul; Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul.” Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth. (Psalm 124:1-6 NKJV)
His mercies made it impossible for all that had us this year to kill us. Diseases that came could not kill us. He healed us and brought us back to health. Spiritual attacks that came could not take us out. He fought for us and gave us victory. Financial challenges that came could not paralyze us. The LORD fought for us and granted us divine provisions.
The seasons we foolishly or rebelliously yielded to the flesh and sinned against our God did not hand us to the will of our enemies, because the LORD came with His rebukes, corrections, and call to repentance and saved us from the penalties of those seasons of foolishness.
He forgave us and removed the consequences of our sins far away from us. Indeed, blessed is he whose sins are forgiven, whose iniquities are pardoned.
God has a history of disappointing the craftiness of the wicked so that their hands could not perform their enterprise. As a father pities his Children, so the LORD had pity upon us. We are where we are today because of all this. It calls for the application of our hearts unto wisdom. The Bible says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12 NKJV)
One major wisdom you will apply your heart unto if you consider the marvelous helps of the LORD, as we have seen this year alone is the wisdom of visionary living. Today we want to refresh our hearts on certain truths on visionary living.
VISIONARY LIVING INVOLVES LIVING YOUR LIFE ACCORDING TO THE WILL, THE WAY AND THE WORD OF THE LORD.
Every act of divine kindness is an invitation to live your life according to His will. It is an invitation to live your life with a vision from God as your compass. When we say visions, we are not referring to night dreams but a divine plan containing a predetermined life destination God want you to live on earth, imprinted in your heart by His Holy Spirit.
Living a life that is guided by any plan from God is visionary living!! When your life is guided by the plans of God, it will be receiving provisions from Him. It will be under His attention. It will be a life governed by Him, a life He will fight for, shelter from storms, or come for its’ rescue when it wanders away from Him.
It will be a life that commands Heaven’s attention on earth.
Yes, a life that He will bless as it goes out and comes in. A life that when the enemy comes against in one way, he will be made to flee away in seven ways. It will be a life God will command blessings into what it does and how it lives. It will be a life that is set on high, above all forms of limitations. It will be a life full of God’s power, pursued by God’s goodness and decorated by His kindness.
Friend, that is the kind of life God wants us to live!!
Sadly, many are not living lives with a vision from God as there compass. The Bible says when that does not happen, we will perish or cast-off restraint. A life without restraint will ultimately become a life of misery and pain. It will be a life that breaks GOD’s instruction or live a sinful life because it has nothing from Heaven it is living for.
It will be a life driven by the desire to get whatever it wants, a life that has no respect for divine boundaries. Simply put, it will be a life driven by the winds of its feelings!!
GOD DID NOT CREATE MAN TO LIVE BY THE WINDS OF HIS FEELINGS, BUT BY HIS VISION FOR THE MAN’S LIFE AND THE INFLUENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
That is why when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you experience a change and begin to live not according to the hearing of your ears, what you see or feel, but according to His leadings; and the more you yield to Him, the more you realize you are no longer living according to your feelings. You will find yourself living your life according to supernatural knowing.
One of the many shades of a visionary life, is a life lived according to supernatural knowing. The only alternative to such a life is a life driven by feelings. The ruin of living by feelings can be diabolic and unredeemable. That is why most times we blame witches for what our emotions created.
We forget that the creations of negative emotions or energies like lust, pride, anger, ungodly cravings, bitterness, feelings of resentment that leads to unforgiveness, hate, or murderous thoughts, feelings of envy, jealousy, disappointment, tribal sentiments and nepotism, greed, arrogance, lack of contentment, malice, vengeance, etc. can be more dangerous than devils sometimes.
I can’t stop thinking that if Samson was in the present-day church, his fall on Delilah’s laps and subsequent loss of eyes and dignity would have been blamed on witches and wizards, or altars raised by the Philistines or something else. No one would have seen the role his negative emotions played. That is how ignorant our generation has become.
Samson’s emotions took him from the path of visionary living, that was packed with power and amazing exploits, to the path of emotional living, that was full of lust and Godless pleasure. The result was losses, shame and eventual death.
Sometimes, there are no words to describe the ruin that emotional living can bring into our lives. Emotional living is a silent destroyer that many do not even know exist. While we are busy searching for our enemies here and there, it is right there within our very souls, causing us great harm.
Sadly, the present church has built a culture of blaming so much on a devil the Bible says Christ’s death on the cross and subsequent resurrection destroyed, and the rest on people who appear antagonistic towards them, thereby becoming blind to the real enemy within.
IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED IN 2026 AND BEYOND, WALK AWAY FROM THAT CULTURE.
Recognize all the enemies within your soul and seek the help of the LORD in prayers to deal with them squarely. Among the enemies to recognize and deal with is the enemy of emotional living. Embrace visionary living in place of emotional living.
Stop living the way you feel about yourself, about those GOD may have placed in your life, or about anything in your life. Start Living the way you should. If you live the way you should, you will be visionary and not emotional no matter what may be wrong with you. That brings us to some Bible based definitions.
First, let’s start with the definition of emotional living. Emotional living, in Bible sense, is living your life according to strong feelings derived from the carnal nature or sin that lives in you, the negative circumstances around, moods, or relationship with others.
It is basically living your life according to how you feel, not according to how you should. For instance, when you follow your carnal desires to get married, sleep with someone, start a career, or walk away from something, you are living your life based on how you feel not how you should. You should be spiritually minded not carnally minded.
You should not get married based on carnal feelings, sleep with someone you are not married to, or start a career sentimentally, or just walk away from something because of one moment of disappointment. Any of these could bear desirable fruits at the immediate but in the long run, will create ruin.
Come to think of it, how many weddings have we attended that gave birth to marriages that no longer exist today? Many! Emotional living create those marriages. Today’s devotional is a call to move from emotional living to visionary living, even as we wrap up this year and step into another.
May we all heed to this call, amen and amen!!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:22-23 NKJV
