THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 15TH JANUARY 2026)

“Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the Lord your God, and the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord God of hosts.”

Jeremiah 2:19 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 15TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

This is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it. The LORD our God has been glorified for 15 days. That is why we are here. His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness.

I may not know what the year holds for me, but I know who holds the year, and that is enough for me. He will not allow us to see corruption and will keep glorifying His great name in our lives if we keep doing His will. Indeed, happiness is to know our Savior Jesus Christ. May His Kingdom come upon the earth and may His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

As long as the LORD continue to give us life, let us keep bending our knees to say to Him, “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

One of those voices God raised in the United Kingdom over 100 years ago called NC Lewis, once said, “there are two kinds of people on the face of the earth. Those who bend their knee to GOD and say, “thy will be done” and those who refuse to bend their knees to God, and He say to them “thy will be done”

If you refuse to bend your knee to do God’s will, He will say to you, “your will be done.” That is the most dangerous incident that can happen to a man or woman, because of its eternal and earthly consequences. If God say to you, “your will be done” He has given you over to yourself.

Everyone in hell today were once on earth. While alive they refused to do God’s will and He looked at them and said, “thy will be done.” Today they are eternally damned. That statement from God to man simply suggest why we should not resist God’s will. We cannot afford the LORD giving us over to ourselves.

If the LORD give you over to yourself, and you are still alive on earth, it will not be long, evil will catch up with you. He gave the generation of Noah to itself, and they became so corrupt that they could not escape the consequences of their evil lives, even after God had offered the way of escape to them.

IF GOD SAYS TO A MAN, “THY WILL BE DONE,” IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT HE WANTED TO DO WITH THE MAN, EVERYTHING WILL BE REVERSED.

When Isreal asked for a king, God gave them one, named King Saul. The Bible says God wanted to establish the throne of Saul forever. But when Saul refused to do God’s will, God said to him, “thy will be done.” He lost the throne after that and became a partner with a witch, leading to his divine execution.

Years before then, God had looked at over 3million people who left Egypt and became rebellious and said to them, “thy will be done” when they resisted His will. The result was terrible; they never got to the promise land. The Bible says their bodies scattered in the wilderness.

Only two of them (Joshua and Caleb) who kept bending their submission kneel and saying to the LORD, “thy will be done” got to the promised land. The rest who got there were born in the wilderness.

Do not allow yourself to get to the place where God will say to you, “thy will be done.” It is not a good place to live an earthly life. No life will be beautiful if the LORD says to it, “thy will be done.” You must therefore never allow yourself to come to that point in life.

If we bend our knees to God in prayer and say to Him “thy will be done” through a life that is submissive to His will, word and ways, His kingdom will come upon our lives and perform His will. But if we refuse to bow down our knees to the LORD, He will look at us and say, “thy will be done” and all hell will let loose in our lives.

God wants a generation that is sold out to His will and ways. A people whose knees and wills are bowed to the LORD God.

Either you know it or not, understand that there are two generations of believers in Church today. Those who bend their knees to God and say, “Thy will be done” and those who do not. The statement that NC Lewis made years back is still relevant today.

ARE YOU PART OF THE BELIEVERS WHO ARE BENDING THE KNEE OF THEIR LIVES AND SAYING TO THE LORD “THY WILL BE DONE” OR NOT?

If you do not bow down your knees or will and say to God, “thy will be done” God will indeed look at you and say “Okay, thy will be done”. That is when our wickedness will begin to deal with us.

In other words, God is saying, since you will not allow my will to be done in your life, then let your own will, be done; and trust me, our woes on earth are rooted in that – they are rooted in God looking at our stubborn wills and helplessly saying to us, “Your will be done.”

There is no life on the face of the earth that God has ever looked at and said “your will be done” that was peaceful after that. Israel comes to mind again at this point. The Bible says, there was a day God looked at them and said:

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

“But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels.

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.”

Psalms 81:10-14 NKJV

In effect, God was saying to them, “thy will be done” since you will not allow my own to be done in your life! From this scriptural position of GOD, it is clear that if God look at us and say “Your will be done” our enemies will never be defeated before us. We will never be free from our adversaries. We will be given to their will.

FRIEND, DO NOT LIVE A LIFE THAT GOD WILL LOOK AT YOU AND SAY, “THY WILL BE DONE” IN 2026 OR ANY OTHER YEAR

Do not get into a Church, a marriage, a business, or anything that God will look at you and say, “your will be done.”

Come to think of it, why are some people going through hell in their marriages? They refused to bend their knees to God, especially when they were youths, and say to Him, “your will be done” in matters of relationships. Consequently, God looked at them and said, “thy will be done,” today they are in terrible marriages.

It is not just in matters of marriage that you see this kind of mishap, even in economic matters. Why are many going through poverty and other forms of financial oppression? Same reason! They resisted God’s will in some areas, and He looked at them and said, “okay since you will not do my will, your will be done.” Today, their financial lives are in sorry state.

People are poor, oppressed, depressed, and stagnated for doing things that made God to look at them and said, “thy will be done.” People are dying prematurely because the LORD looked at them and said, “okay, your will be done, since you will not do my will.”

You find nations, families, Churches, preachers, youths, and even ministers of the gospel going from trouble to trouble for not saying unto God “thy will be done.” God rather looked at them and said, “your will be done” resulting in what they now go through.

God sent this word to us today because our pains are troubling Him on His throne. Many of us have fasted, prayed, and served Him sacrificially but we have not properly positioned ourselves under his perfect will for our lives. This is time to sit and consider your ways!

Time to tell the LORD, “I repent for doing my will, now I want to do your will.” Time to make a redemptive turn that will turn our lives around.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge.

Psalm 51:1-4 NKJV
