TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 1ST FEBRUARY 2026)
“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”
Hebrews 12:22-24 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 32ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
It is a new day!! God be glorified for bringing us into another month, the second month of our year of strategic victory. It pleases the LORD that we begin this day in His presence in corporate fellowship. I can’t be tired of saying to Him, “You are faithful.”
Yes, God is faithful, He is faithful and will remain faithful. It is His faithfulness that fed us all through the month of January to this day. His faithfulness will feed, care, fight for us, and shelter us in February as well. That is our confidence. What He did last month will be done this month as well.
Each time I look at my life, I thank God for Jesus Christ. If not for Him, where would we be? Friend, the most beautiful thing that can ever happen to a man is salvation experience. Since He came into my life before I turned 10, it has been His mercies and kindness all along.
Yes, there have been dark moments, very dark moments of living in sin, iniquity, and trespass, especially in those beginning years, His mercies have always been there to bring one back. Friend, the rest and peace Jesus gives cannot be found anywhere else.
You may have experienced the best boat rides in the world, or the best entertainment or financial empowerment in the world but until you experience Jesus, you are still far from a true-life experience. Whatever glorious thing you may have experienced in this life, is cheap compared to a genuine salvation experience.
A GENUINE SALVATION EXPERIENCE SUPERSEDES THE EXPERIENCE OF ANY UNSAVED PRESIDENT OF A NATION OR BUSINESS TYCOON.
It is an experience that places the poorest of the poor on a pedestal that even the richest man in the world cannot acquire with all his wealth. It is a treasure that cannot be found in the richest places of the earth. It is an experience that separates Sons of Light from sons of darkness. That is what makes a man happy even when there is nothing to be excited about. It makes him supernatural.
Friend, the greatest encounter you can have on earth is a salvation encounter and that can only happen when you meet Jesus Christ personally. The fountain of a genuine salvation experience is a genuine salvation encounter. But it is not just an experience; it is a translation from one realm to another.
Our devotional text calls that realm “Mount Zion.” On this metaphorical mountain, the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel. One of the better things is, God’s mercy. Yes, God’s mercies. We crossed into this month having our hearts refreshed on the same. It is of His mercies that we would not be consumed.
Mercy has been defined as God’s benevolence that makes sure we do not receive the punishment we deserve, but a forgiveness and a cleansing from the sins we committed, confessed, and forsake. Someone once said, “Grace is receiving what we do not deserve, and Mercy is not receiving what we deserve.” That should set us all thinking and hopeful for the month.
We do not deserve this month, but the LORD has brought us in. To Him belong the glory. I remember sharing at one time that there are people today who do not deserve having children because of what they did when they got pregnant, maybe out of wedlock.
There are men today who do not deserve a wife because of what they did with the hearts of the young women who loved them unconditionally. There are women who do not deserve a husband because of what they did with the loving ones God gave them.
THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT DESERVE HAVING A JOB BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY DID WITH THE ONES THEY ONCE HAD.
There are people who do not deserve Heaven because of what they did to the preachers God sent to them. But when Mercy speaks all of that can change. Mercy is indeed not receiving what we deserve.
Our devotional text tells of the Blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel that spoke in Genesis chapter 4. The first time I heard that I asked myself what the blood of sprinkling is really speaking. Now I know it is speaking of mercy, among other things. The Bible says,
“To Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”
Hebrew 12:24
The blood of Abel spoke vengeance, and that was justifiable because Cain never repented. But the blood of Jesus speaks mercy today. And will keep speaking that until the Day of Judgment. In the Day of Judgment, it will no longer speak mercy but justice – which will mean final punishment of all unrepented souls.
The blood of sprinkling is the blood of Jesus that was sprinkled on the altar of GOD in Heaven on the day of His resurrection. It cancelled the consequence of sin, the legal rights of the devil over us, and everything that may be speaking against us in the spirit realm. The Bible teaches that,
“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
Colossians 2:13-15 NKJV
These are the scriptural revelations that make God’s Mercy the greatest utterance in Heaven and on earth. It is the only utterance that you need in order to be free from ancestral forces, evil foundations, generational curses etc. not the utterances of “sowing seeds.”
YOU MUST NOT SOW A SEED FOR WHAT THE BLOOD OF JESUS HAS PURCHASED FOR YOU.
It is the only utterance you need to be free from whatever your fathers did, not taking some prophets to your village or having them speak into your life. If prophets speak into your life and God has not spoken into it, nothing has really been spoken. Hence, you will still be in trouble.
Ordinarily, when a prophet speaks into your life, He should be speaking into it what God has already spoken into it, which he caught in the Spirit.
But most “speak into your life” prophets today are alienated from God. Their greed for money and covetousness for people’s properties has separated them from Heaven’s throne, where authentic prophetic utterances flow from. They now prophesy by Baal, greed, and covetousness.
I don’t care who may be speaking into your life, if the blood of Jesus has not spoken into it, nothing about you will change.
Your past will keep killing your present and making sure you do not step into your future, and what makes the blood to speak into your life is not the financial seeds you sow or are told to sow (as good as that may be), neither is it your fast or prayer (as good as it may be) but your repentance.
If you confess your sins and wicked deeds to “the right ears” and deeply repent of them, it will activate the utterance of the blood in the Throne Room of God for you. GOD made it clear in His word that Mercy will be the utterance. And the instant the word “Mercy” comes out of the throne room, judgment will be erased, leading to times of refreshing from the presence of the LORD! That is why the
Bible says,
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,”
Acts 3:19 NKJV
We can go and on, but like I always say, this is a devotional. It is a new month!! May the LORD go ahead of us and make the crooked places straight. May the month be one of the best months of your life, in Jesus precious name. Amen.
Happy New Month!!! Amen.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!
He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
Proverbs 28:13 NKJV
