THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 26TH FEBRUARY 2026)

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

Proverbs 29:18 KJV

WELCOME TO THE 57TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

The joy of the LORD is our strength. It’s a great thing to be alive, and not just alive but alive and well. All by the mercies of the LORD, that are the foundation of our joy, life and everything.

In my opinion, the happiest people on earth are not on the records of any happiness index on earth. The happiest people on earth are those who by the power of God’s mercies, are living their lives in pursuit of why they are here on earth, and no happiness index has that on their record. Only the Bible teaches so.

This is another day that the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

Only people who are living their lives according to the visions and purposes of the LORD for their lives, the visions and purposes of the Day Himself, that should actually say that. It is when you live that way that you release your divine destiny.

Christianity is only beautiful if it is enabling one to actualize their divine destiny. The reason is because the purpose of true Christianity is the release of divine destiny. Today, we will be looking at the connection between the release of divine destiny and the release of the economic might or the prosperity of the righteous.

There was a time in church history when God’s power broke out and reformation started. It was the prophetic destiny of the believers of that age and time to carry out reformation of the church. Most of those who embraced their destiny, started as paupers, but after sacrificing themselves over the years, and actualizing their destinies, they did not die as paupers.

THEY DIED BLESSED OF THE LORD. TODAY WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT THEM.

Their lives shows that poverty is not a curse but a creation of the consequence of not living like a seed that should die to bring forth many fruits. But these people were not the first people to experience a radical change in their economic life, at the instance of the release of their destiny. The early church was the first.

Bible history has it that, as soon as they began to release their destinies as the bride of Christ, stationed in the ancient world to influence the lost world back to God, economic wealth broke out among them, and there was no poor one among them. It was the mismanagement of the prosperity that made some of them poor after the outbreak.

Israel was another people whose lives shows us the same Bible truth, that the prosperity of the righteous is tailored to the release of their destiny. The Bible says they went into Egypt as God’s missionary nation. During the 400-year period, they became so prosperous and great that they began to scare Satan.

Understand that the prosperity of the righteous is one thing that throws the gates of hell into panic.

You know, he is always afraid when the righteous prosper. That is why Satan fights to keep you poor as soon as you align your ways with the ways of the LORD. If he cannot keep you poor, he will make sure you no longer live a righteous life as soon as you begin to prosper economically so that you will not create panic in His kingdom. Those are some of the secrets many do not know!!

So, Isreal prospered in Egypt because they were fulfilling their destiny as God’s missionary nation. Then in fear, Satan raised a Pharoah that began to strip them of that wealth and turned them into slaves. He did for a while, but God raised a deliverer in the person of Moses who descended on their chains and broke them free. The day they left Egypt, the Bible says there was no weak one among them; both economically and physically.

EACH PERSON LEFT EGYPT A RICH MAN OR WOMAN.

The lives of the men and women who fulfilled their destinies as reformers, that of the early church and the lives of the Israelites, all proved that where purpose is fulfilled, prosperity is inevitable. Our devotional text says,

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

Proverbs 29:18 KJV

If you do not align your life with God’s vision for it and begin to live like the seed that must die to bring forth fruit, you will perish; you will abide alone and poor. People have said poverty is a curse, but I have come to discover that poverty is not a curse but a creation. A creation of the consequences of not living right or not paying the price daily for the reason you were born to be fulfilled.

Yes, it is a consequence of the absence of the power of GOD that come from a destiny that is being actualized, a divine assignment that is being fulfilled, or a life vision one is paying the price to take from the declaration to the manifestation.

There is a power we emit when we begin to pay the price to solve the problems we were born to solved or touch the lives we were born to touch. That is the power that turns a man’s economic fortune around when unleashed. Understand that your assignment is connected to lives you were born to touch with something precious from the presence of the LORD.

Solomon touched the men and women of his time with wisdom. Daniel touched the king he served with great ability to solve riddles, dissolve doubts, interpret dreams, explain prophecies, keep confusion far away from the mind of the king among other things, and serve as an effective administrator in the palace.

Joseph touched Pharoah with almost similar things from the presence of God.

None of these people was poor. They were all blessed with the prosperity of the righteous. They paid the price, lived daily as living seeds, and bore much fruit and lived blessed lives. You must do the same. You must receive something from God to use in touching the lives you were born to touch.

IT COULD BE THE LIFE OF ONE PROMINENT PERSON, A FAMILY, A NATION, OR A SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE.

If you do not live your days touching the life or lives you were born to touch with something from the presence of the LORD, you will not be free from lack and poverty. Your economic struggles may remain forever, so to speak, because you will be the one creating them with your own hands by not doing the right thing.

Even the fiery Elijah was sustained by God through the same principle. He enjoyed divine provision when he was touching the lives of the nation of Isreal with his prophetic ministry that flowed directly from the presence of the LORD, in the days of Jezebel and Ahab, according to divine will.

Despite the resistance they mounted against him, he remained strong in the release of his destiny. God was also strong in providing him with what he needed.

The widow of Zarephath enjoyed divine provisions when she paid the prize for three years to touch the life of Elijah with her meals and hospitality. Her provision was unlocked by her assignment.

The same applies to all of us. God buried our riches in our divine assignments, the assignment to touch lives. If we do not live our days touching them according to God’s will and ways, we will not see the prosperity He may have promised us. Understand that the prosperity of the righteous is always as a result of the release of his or her divine destiny.

That is why there would have been no poor one among us if all Christians had focused their faith on releasing their divine destiny in Christ Jesus. You can change your economic life if you allow this word to take root in you, or if you make it your guiding light from today to the end of your years on earth. Amen.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOUR DAY!

“This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

“Then Belshazzar gave the command, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a chain of gold around his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

Daniel 5:26-29 NKJV
