THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 27TH FEBRUARY 2026)

“He who plans to do evil will be called a mischief-maker. The plans of the foolish and the thought of foolishness are sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to men. If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.”

Proverbs 24:8-10 AMPC

WELCOME TO THE 58TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

We thank God for taking us from the first day of this month, to today, the second to the last day. It was all free by His grace. This level of mercy and kindness should remind us of where we are as His people, and what is required of us, as a kingdom of priest and kings.

The people of God or the Church is in an exciting stage in God’s eternal plans for mankind. It is required of us to be in a spiritual construction mode because God has set this season of our lives to bless and build us up to become His living altars on the face of the earth.

One of the major prophecies billed to be fulfilled these last days is in the book of Ephesians. It speaks of the washing of the Church with the water of the word by the Testimony of Jesus Christ that comes in form of edifying truths. The major emphasis of the Spirit is spiritual edification or apostolic construction.

God wants us to be built up, not just to be ready for the LORD but to withstand the horrors of the last days. Until we are built up, we cannot have the spiritual strength to survive the horrors of the last days. Ours is a terminal generation, hence the building of our faith with the building blocks of scriptural revelation inevitable.

With what is happening today, if we are not built up, we would give up and decline into a life of sin, doubt, darkness and eventual regret in hell. God wants us built up and has given us the precious stones of Bible truth as the construction material.

Understand that Scriptural Revelation truths are the precious stones of Bible truths, the ideal building blocks of the human spirit. The human spirit can only be built up by exposing it to scriptural revelations and sound teachers and tutelage of the word.

Once it is built up, it will have the strength not to faint in the day of adversity. This morning God want to school us again in certain matters of the kingdom. Whenever God want to bless a people, He will first school them so that they can develop capacity for the blessing. Schooling in the things of God has always been the prelude to significant and spectacular blessings.

GOD HAS NEVER BLESSED A PEOPLE SIGNIFICANTLY WITHOUT FIRST SCHOOLING THEM.

If you read the book of Deuteronomy – Moses’ Valedictory speech – you will realize that God schooled the nation for 40 years before bringing them into the promise land. Schooling is the highest form of preparation in life. It always come before a new season and precedes manifestations in God’s kingdom.

By heritage, we are to move from glory to glory, but what exists between one glory, and another is a season of schooling for the next glory. That is what many do not know, hence not be able to live their days from glory to glory. To move Isreal from the glory of Psalm 114 to the glory of the promised land, God had to school them in between the glories.

The Bible made it clear that God schooled them in just one thing, for the next glory, and that thing was about living by His word and not by bread alone. The Bible says,

“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man, lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV

God’s schooling process could be painful like this one but His ultimate vision is to make you KNOW. Until you know what you have not known before, you will never come into a glory you have not known before. For Israel they were to know that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God. That was the thing of God they learnt for forty years.

It is a thing of God “not to live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God.” It is not a thing of man or devils, and it took Israel forty years to learn that.

NOW, SOMEONE MAY ASK WHY IT TOOK THEM THAT LONG; THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE.

In the answer is how long it will take us when God is moving us from glory to glory for us to truly move from glory to glory. For many, the movement from glory to glory is not even happening. It is not happening because they are not being schooled by the LORD. Isarel was schooled for 40 years not days.

There are different reasons why it usually take that long. First, if what is coming is big, we will need a longer time to be schooled for it. Secondly if our response to God is slow, it will take a longer time than necessary for us to learn His lesson and come into the next glory.

The third reason schooling takes longer time lies in the longevity of a captivity. For Israel it lasted for 400 years and needed a significant time in the wilderness to deal with it. That is the way God deals with His people! If you want to know how long you may need to stay in God’s training School, you have just known it.

In proper perspective, here are the things that will determine the lessons you will learn and how long you will stay learning them; (1) The significance of the blessing God is preparing you for (2) Your response to His dealings, and (3) How long you have been in spiritual degradation and ignorance.

Like I said some time back, there are people who may have to remain in God’s school all their lives. The reason for that is simple; the enemy has damaged everything in their internal life, because of slow or no response to God, it will take a longer or lifetime for them to recover and recover fully.

Let us conclude with this; there are three basic things God targets when schooling us today in His things.

The first thing He targets is our carnal nature. His vision is to take it to the Cross and nail it there. The next thing He will target are the things we do that gives the enemy a foothold in our lives. His vision will be to stop us from doing them so that we can come into a no more war realm of the Christian faith.

The last thing He targets is power or influence of the spirit of this world in our lives. That is why you find people no longer living lives that sow to please the flesh once they complete God’s schooling program. You find them in a blessed life called rich fulfilment after a season of God’s schooling program.

It’s my prayer that the LORD use this word to improve our walk and talk with Him. AMEN!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY;

“For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs.

You have caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.”

Psalm 66:10-12 NKJV
