THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 28TH MARCH 2026)

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

“The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;”
“Moreover by them your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.” Psalm 19:7-8, 11. NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 87TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

We give God the glory for all the days we have seen and the peace we have enjoyed from Him. It is another weekend today and to God be the glory. I can’t believe we have passed 86 days. God has been FAITHFUL.

For everyone out there that the enemy is using his agents to threaten, just know that your life is in God’s hands not in their hands. You are written on the palms of the LORD’s hands not on the shrines of the wicked. The counsel of the LORD for your life shall stand and the expectation of the wicked shall not stand.

One of the major passions of every one God has placed on the field of this world, to reap souls into His kingdom, is to see men and women coming to the LORD and living a pure and righteous life on the face of the earth.

The vision of sound doctrine, the vision for spewing out God’s living truths through righteous lips is to promote the ultimate passion of the great commission, which is to see men and women come to the LORD, and live a pure and righteous life on the face of the earth.

It is to make us wise enough to come to the LORD, live right and do God’s blessed will. One of the beautiful lines in our devotional text says: “The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;”

Sometimes you wonder why people who are privileged to hear sound doctrine at very close range, do not respond to the word and allow it to work in them. The answer lies in the line. The scripture made it clear that it is the simple at heart that the word makes wise, then change because wisdom changes a man.

Sadly, many who sit under sound doctrine, who are even close to the preachers of sound doctrine remain the way they came spiritually because they are wise in their own eyes. Others remain the same because they observed lying vanity and ended up forsaking their own mercy.

THEY ARE NOT SIMPLE AND SUBMISSIVE ENOUGH FOR GOD TO CHANGE.

To be simple is to be humble at heart, teachable and reachable by the Holy Spirit. That is one of the keys to receiving maximum impact through the word or testimony of the LORD. It is the key to allowing sound doctrine to change you. It is the key to use in allowing the Holy Spirit to reach you, not just the preacher.

It is important to note that one could be reachable by a preacher but not by the Holy Spirit speaking through the preacher.

You are available to your pastor but not to your GOD. When the LORD needs you, you are not there but when empty religion needs you, you are there. That is because you have no personal commitment to the LORD. No intentional commitment to the maker of your soul, nothing truly motivates you towards that commitment. This is very dangerous to your eternal life.

Ordinarily, your availability to your pastor should be a consequence of your availability to God. In other words, your service or whatever you may be doing as service, or whatever is making you to be reachable or available to your pastor should have been a consequence of what you do with the LORD in secret.

But many are outside this apostolic mark. They just serve and work, and we judged them faithful and zealous, only for them to crash into their ideal moral nature and shock every one of us. There are people I have wept and prayed for in secret, but their lives remain the same.

One of them recently left church and took a man into her house and called. I was shocked but this truth guided me strongly. She was unsaved while serving and not willing to walk the walk of the saved and sanctified.

There are those who still do very ungodly things and take them as their struggle, saying everyone has a struggle. But they forget that death comes unannounced to take someone soul to God for judgment.

THE MOST PAINFUL WAY TO GO TO HELL IS TO GO FROM THE CHURCH!!

The Bible says it is appointed unto man to die once, after that judgment. This scripture seems not to be in the consciousness of those who live that way. The sin and unsaved life they live behind the scenes has deceived them to think they will repent before death comes.

The Bible warns that in the times we live in, one of the major things sin and Satan will be doing is to deceive. Breaking from deception is a sure way to secure an eternal life at this hour.

Let us conclude this devotional with a living truth I cannot keep. I want to share about certain rules God created to govern our existence as mankind. Understand that mankind was created by God as spirit beings. Our bodies are just what houses us! They are sheer earth suits for living.

The real man is not seen. It is inside. That is the part that need to be pure, holy and always ready for the next life. If that part is ready for the next life, there are things we will not be found doing, either behind the scenes of in public. A comprehensive text is our devotional text says:

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;”

God expects His word to convert out souls from what it was before we met the LORD to what it must be for us to make Heaven. The soul within context is the part of us that is unseen, our human spirit joined to our human souls.

If we do not become intentional in working out our salvation with fear and trembling, if we do not submit to needed spiritual exercises that allows the word to convert that part of our lives that will leave our body when we die, we will be doomed in hell when we die, despite being in church and serving close to preachers and being celebrated by all.

God wants us to yield to His grace and allow it to teach and help us to turn from ungodliness. If we do not intentionally respond to it, we will perish.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14 NKJV
