TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 29TH April 2026)
“The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance has turned into mourning. The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!
Because of this our heart is faint; because of these things our eyes grow dim; Because of Mount Zion which is desolate, with foxes walking about on it.” Lamentations 5:15-18 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 119TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
God be glorified for His kindness and marvelous deeds. We are alive today because His mercies are keeping us. We may not have everything that our lives need, but we have Him, and that is what matters.
Day unto day His presence gives us hope, night unto night, it uphold us. Indeed, if it had not been the LORD who had been on our side, we would have not been among the living. But blessed be His name for His faithfulness. His love is unquestionable, and His corrections full of love and deep concern for our peace.
For this reason, the Bible says blessed is the man God corrects or chastises, because He will leave a blessing on that person’s life afterwards. Yes, He will not just leave a blessing but will also carry out a redemptive move that will blow all of Satan’s entry points in the person’s life away, giving one rest from his days of adversity.
One way God’s correction come is through teaching, or a word of exhortation. This morning there is a word of exhortation for us, a word that will correct us and then put a blessing upon our lives. I hope we are ready!!
To start with, let me state this; it’s not God’s will for our enemies to be a thing of concern to us. You see that in the life of Adam – a life that contains the original intent of God for mankind. That man walked in dominion. As a result, Satan was not a thing of concern to him.
There is no record where Adam sat down in fellowship with God and started binding demons and asking God to judge his enemies. Though there was Satan and his fallen angels then, but none of them was a threat to him. The reason for this perfect peace and power over the enemy was the crown of dominion.
YES, THE CROWN OF DOMINION WAS ON HIS HEAD, AND THE DEVILS WERE NO MATCH TO HIM.
The crown is an instrument of peace, power and rulership. It set Him at the rulership authority of a deputy or regent of God on earth, and since the devil and his angels cannot even stand the presence of angels, who were lower in rank than man, no demon could even dare the presence of man.
One will then wonder, at what time then did mankind came to the sorry state of being oppressed, made poor by devils, made sick, cursed, dominated, hindered, attacked, even killed and possessed by devils. Yes, at what time then did we get to the place where Satan can then harass mankind.
It was when the crown fell that Satan began to terrorize mankind! When the crown was on mankind, none of that could happen.
Mark the word could. None could happen. That means the enemy could not dare because he knew he was no match. Demons do not fight who they are no match to. But Jesus came and restored us back to the path of having that crown back, in the person of the Holy Spirit.
He began opening the path for us by dying on the cross and shedding His blood to buy us back from where the loss of the crown placed us. It was lost when Adam obeyed the devil and ate from the three of sound Judgment (tree of the knowledge of good and evil), hence becoming a spiritual slave of sin and Satan.
No slave carries a crown on the head. But when Jesus came, He walked the earth as man, took the fall of man as a sacrificial lamb, thinking of us, and brought about the destruction of the works of the devil, restoring us back as kings and priests on His earth.
The head of a king or priest is always with a crown. So, He restored back our crowns, the crown of dominion. Hallelujah!!
He restored it by pouring His Holy Spirit upon us. The Holy Spirit is our crown of dominion on the face of the earth. That outpouring is an outpouring for our coronation or the restoration of our crown of dominion. However, many have not realized that, hence talking about the enemy and all he is all the time.
THE ENEMY, SATAN, ACTUALLY SET MANY UP TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT HIM, INSTEAD OF OUR RESTORED CROWN OF DOMINION.
He knows, if we become conscious of the revelation of the Holy Spirit as the one with our lost crown of dominion, we will become strong and come to the place of exercising rulership over him, the place where the crown will be restored fully and put to effective use against him and his evil works, the place of intimacy with the Holy Spirit, the possessor of the crown (or the crown Himself).
Which is what Satan fears most, hence raising some or allowing some to rise, just to be talking about him and promoting his knowledge in the name of deliverance. These are the people in the church who are promoting the enemy consciousness.
They promote this terrible consciousness instead of the consciousness of Christ, His finished works, and the restored crown of dominion the Holy Spirit places upon us when we receive and become intimate with Him. Jesus says:
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NKJV
In other words, Jesus was saying to us, “you shall get back your crown of dominion when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and it will enable you to be a witness unto me.” This is very profound. There is nothing we can do successfully in the Kingdom of God without this crown of dominion the Holy Spirit brings resting upon us.
Jesus calls it power. He said you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. A crown is indeed the power of rulership invested on one who has been coronated king or priest, so long as the kingdom of God is concern. This power begins by empowering us to function as regent-sons of God on earth.
Do not forget, judgment is committed to sons. We can only function on earth as God’s regent-sons not mere humans. If we try to function as mere humans, our lives will be miserable.
YES, IT WILL BE MADE MISERABLE BY FALLEN ANGELS AND THEIR DEMONS.
To function as the regent-sons of God, do anything in His kingdom, or be witnesses for Christ, we must have this crown of dominion on our heads. Jesus wanted His first disciples to be His witnesses but knew it was not possible in a wicked world without that crown of dominion from the Holy Spirit called power.
He counseled them to wait for it before going out, they did and they got it. After getting it, they went out everywhere witnessing for Him, establishing His kingdom in men’s hearts, and exercising their dominion over sin, sickness, and all that Satan could muster. Even death could not stop them. They had dominion over it, hence not afraid of it.
Unlike many in such missions today, they did not suffer any counterattack in all they did. They went through things and came up with their faith held high and crowns of dominion shining bright.
Their lives teaches that no one should try to be a witness for the LORD and His kingdom without the crown of Dominion on their head. If they do, they will go through the gates of hell itself and regret ever doing so. The story of the sons of Sceva, a chief priest, in the Bible, who attempted doing so, has a lot to teach us about that.
They saw Paul the apostle, witnessing for the LORD and establishing His kingdom with the crown of dominion over his head and thought it was something they could do without the crown.
They never knew the miracle they saw Paul walking in, and the demons they saw coming out of people by his word and prayer, and all that was happening was not magic or one of the things witch doctors do, but a manifestation of the crown of dominion on his head. If they had known, they would not have ventured into such things without proper equipping.
BUT THEY IGNORANTLY, TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO DO WHAT HE WAS DOING, BUT THEY HAD NO CROWN OF DOMINION ON THEIR HEADS.
The Bible says:
“Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.
Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”
Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Acts 19:11-16 NKJV
Friend, if you try to do anything for God or with God without this crown of dominion over your head, evil spirits will be leaping upon your life, marriage, finances, mind, soul and all that makes your life beautiful to reduce them to ashes. They will strip you of your true family, or children, jobs, or any other form of economic sustenance, peace, and all that clothes you with glory.
THEY WILL MAKE SURE YOU BECOME NAKED AND NOT CLOTHED.
A life without the crown of dominion will be full of misery and sorrows, despite raising, breaking or silencing of altars, sowing of seeds, and going for all kinds of deliverance. Our devotional text this morning is a prophetic capture of the Lamentation of humanity and all we have gone through for losing “the crown of Dominion” in the Garden of Eden. It says;
“The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance has turned into mourning. The crown has fallen from our head.
Woe to us, for we have sinned! Because of this our heart is faint; because of these things our eyes grow dim; Because of Mount Zion which is desolate, with foxes walking about on it.” Lamentations 5:15-18 NKJV
The joy of our hearts will cease, and foxes will invade our lives if the crown of dominion is not on our heads. The scripture did not just tell us what happened in the fall, it also tell us what our lives would become if we lived it without the crown of Dominion over us.
The good news is, the crown is back!! Back in the Holy Ghost, not in olive oil, feet washing, holy communion, altar breaking, silencing or raising. Not in going to mountains to pray or whatever, but in the Holy Ghost. So, find a church that will help you live and walk in Him, and all will be well. Amen!!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR US TODAY;
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing, To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him”. Psalm 92:12-15 NKJV
