TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Tuesday 16th June 2026)
“The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psalms 110:1-2 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 167TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!
It’s been 167 days of sleeping and waking up freely, no bills for it, no dues for it, just God’s mercy paying it all for us. If you think it’s easy to sleep and wake up, find out from those who slept and never did.
I once listened to a medical doctor share the possibility of having a heart attack while asleep. He said that is why people die in their sleep. I was shocked!! It dawned on me how expensive it is to sleep and wake up. It suddenly realized why one must pray effectively to the LORD who keeps all things before he or she sleeps.
I saw the danger of just falling on bed and sleeping without a word of prayer. Friend, if none has told you I am telling you now, that to sleep and wake up is very expensive and one person is the one who pays the bill, His name is Jesus Christ. The Bible says:
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. Colossians 1:15-17 NKJV
He is the image of the invisible God. So, to know who God is, we must know who He is. He is God the Son. All things were created by Him, including how our lives runs while we are asleep. In Him all things consist, that is why we wake up successfully. This morning He has a word for us. Remember He said, “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.”
THERE IS A WORD FOR US TODAY! A PROCEEDING WORD!! A LIFE-GIVING WORD
To start with, understand that there are places to sit in Christ Jesus, who is currently sitting at the right hand of God, for your enemies to be made footstool. Until you locate such places and take your seat there, your enemies will never be made your footstool.
Consequently, you will never have rest from your enemies. This is one word proceeding from God to us today. Rest from spiritual attacks is a function of how you sit in Christ. Salvation puts us in Christ, our faith in Him keeps us there. However, how we sit in Him, is what gives us rest from spiritual attacks. The Bible says:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
The amplified version puts it this way, “Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”
This scripture clearly reveals where to sit in Christ and have your enemies made your footstool by God. That place is hidden in the word ingrafted. The result of being ingrafted is that you will become a new creature. This new creature no longer lives in its previous moral and spiritual condition. It now lives in a fresh or new moral and spiritual condition.
What does that mean? It means if your moral and spiritual condition was dead, dead in sin and trespasses, living according to the course of this sin age, sleeping with whoever you want, drinking alcohol, taking in substances or cigars, lying and stealing, fighting and living wickedly or in ungodly ways, living or sleeping with other people’s wives or husbands, doing what everyone does and seeing nothing wrong with wrong doing, once you become ingrafted into Christ, all that kind of life will miraculously disappear. That is what it means.
MANY DO NOT REALIZE THAT IF THEY SAY THEY ARE BORN AGAIN THEY ARE SAYING THEY ARE IN CHRIST AND THAT THEY HAVE BECOME NEW CREATURES.
This new creature is no longer comfortable with the sin of fornication, adultery, masturbation, deception, stealing, lying, bitterness, unforgiveness, or any sinful behavior. It is only comfortable with uprightness, purity, life in the Holy Spirit, truth, service to God and other forms of kingdom living.
The new creature will not rejoice in the pleasure of sin or seek it repeatedly not minding about its eternal life.
This new creature will not give excuses if it sins, it will run to God in repentance to get back to righteousness. It will not sit in sexual sins, addictions, perversion, deception, or any other filthiness of the spirit and the flesh, giving excuses why it must remain there. This new creature is different and does not live according to the course of this world.
The question to ask ourselves this day is this, are we new creatures? All of us who claim that we are born again, are we new creatures, or old creatures with new confessions. Confessing that we are saved but in work or lifestyle we are lost and heading to hell. The rest of Christ is for those who have been ingrafted, those who are saved.
We must therefore understand what we say when we say we are born again. Yes, when you say you are born again, you are saying you are in Christ and that you have become a new creature. That your previous moral and spiritual condition no longer exists; it’s been replaced with a fresh one. That is what you are saying.
If you have indeed become a new creature, the prove is much more than going to church, being a worker in church, singing in the choir or preaching the gospel. The proof is in your moral and spiritual condition, and not in anything else.
YOU OR YOUR PASTOR MAY NOT AGREE WITH THAT, BUT THAT IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.
Our devotional text today contains some truths and prophetic instructions to glean from to see God move marvelously in our battle against human enemies (though extended to evil spirits as well). A major one says, “Sit at My right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.”
That was a messianic declaration revealed to David. First, it refers to Christ and by extension to us – His redeemed or ingrafted ones.
If we sit with Him at His right hand, we will become victorious in battle and see our enemies paralyzed. He will begin to make them our footstool, as we move to advance His course on the face of the earth. However, this only happens when we are ingrafted into Christ. That is what this word has been all about.
As we bring this to a close, understand that we must be engrafted to be saved and sanctified. It is the truly saved and sanctified that can be free from the captivity of demons and other elements of this accursed world. To be ingrafted, also spelt as engrafted, means to insert a shoot or scion to a plant into another. Figuratively, it means to implant or incorporate something deeply and permanently into a new foundation.
If we are inserted as a shoot into Christ, if we get implanted or incorporated into Him, the Bible says, our previous moral or spiritual condition will no longer exits. We will get a new one from Him. The One who does that insertion or implantation is not us but God the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!! He implants us into God the Son to give us a new life.
Now, ask the Holy Spirit to come upon you and do His job. If you have been in church and not in Christ, He can help you. Yes, He can help insert us permanently into Christ and bring us to the place of the New Life in Christ Jesus. Amen!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY
“For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
What father among you, if his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!” Luke 11:10-13 AMPC
