THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Sunday 5th July 2026)

“And the Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh which I have put in your hand. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.

Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Israel is My son, My firstborn. So I say to you, let My son go that he may serve Me. But if you refuse to let him go, indeed I will kill your son, your firstborn.”‘”

Exodus 4:21-23 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 186TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!

It’s been 186 days of God’s goodness and kindness. We thank the LORD God for not allowing the intentions of the dark world to come to pass in our lives. We thank the LORD for allowing only His word to come to pass in our lives. It is the reason we are still alive, well, and succeeding.

The Bible made it clear that there is only one thing that is allowed to come to pass in our lives, that thing is His word for our lives.

Anything that may be coming to pass outside that, is not God’s will for our lives.

For example, it is not legal in God’s sight for the curses of this life to come to pass in our lives. It is not God’s design that the consequences of our sin come to pass in our lives. That is why He forgives sins and teaches us to live right.

It is not His will for anything outside His kingdom, power and glory to come to pass in our lives. Even if He pronounces judgment, it is not His will for that to come to pass, that is why He moves to bring us to repentance so that what is pronounced is not performed.

I pray that whatever it is, may the power of the LORD defeat it for us in Jesus precious name. Amen!!

One of the major purposes of the prophetic is to prevent what is evil, unclean, bad, and outside God’s will for our lives from coming to pass.

The prophetic from Bible times, has helped the people of God to avert things that were outside God’s will, things that were lying in the future of the people, like slavery, death, diseases, destruction, etc. from coming to pass in their lives.

THAT IS WHAT MAKES THE PROPHETIC A SPIRITUAL PRESERVATIVE. IT ALSO MAKES IT A CATALYST OF DELIVERANCE.

The Bible says:

“By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, And by a prophet he was preserved.”

Hosea 12:13 NKJV

Two things we see in this scripture that will happen by the ministry of the prophetic anointing, is deliverance and divine preservation. That is why when God use it to arrest an impending danger in our future, we are either preserved or delivered.

Part of the expression of the Prophetic is what we call dreams.

God speaks to us in dreams to prevent what is not in His will for our lives from coming to pass. That is why one must not ignore their dreams, visions or night revelations. God sends visions, dreams and night revelations to us, partly to help us do things that will prevent what He has not designed for our lives from coming to pass.

On this note, the bible says,

“For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds,

Then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.”

Job 33:14-18 NKJV

It is not God’s will that we end up in spiritual, financial, marital or social pits. It is not His will that we perish by the sword of our enemies, or even our own swords like Saul did. One major thing He used to prevent that from happening is to seal divine instructions into our spirits while we are asleep.

Then we wake up with them as dreams, visions or night revelations.

HIS GOAL REMAINS, TO MAKE SURE ONLY WHAT IS IN HIS WILL, COMES TO PASS IN OUR LIVES; ONLY HIS WORD COMES TO PASS IN OUR LIVES.

The main thrust of spiritual warfare is to make sure God’s word comes to pass in the lives of His people. A lot happens when they see only His word come to pass in their lives. They can move from poverty to plenty, failure to success, adversity to peace, and a whole lot in God’s glory.

In spiritual warfare, we stand on what God has promised and ask Him to perform it.

We stand on His word and ask Him to bring it to pass. We stand on things He accomplish on the cross and ask that they be accomplished in our lives. Spiritual warfare is won when God’s word for our lives come to pass.

We move from darkness to light when what God says comes to pass in our lives. In fact, Isreal would have remained slaves in Egypt if the word of the LORD did not come to pass in their lives. Everything Moses did in Egypt was to bring God’s word to pass.

Our devotional text says:

“And the Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh which I have put in your hand. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.

Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Israel is My son, My firstborn. So I say to you, let My son go that he may serve Me. But if you refuse to let him go, indeed I will kill your son, your firstborn.”‘”

Exodus 4:21-23 NKJV

Everything that happened in Egypt is traceable to this word; it was the word of the LORD to Moses. That tells us how important the subject matter is.

When He was Physically on earth, Jesus firmly declared “Heaven and earth shall pass away but my word shall not pass away.” This also mean whatever you may be going through will pass away. You will wake up one morning and no longer see it.

God designed every other thing to pass away. He designed evil to pass away. He designed Death, hell and grave to pass away. He sentenced the devil and all his host of fallen angels, human and demonic spirits, to pass away. That is why we have hope.

THERE IS A FUTURE THAT IS COMING BECAUSE ALL THESE THINGS SHALL PASS AWAY.

The Bible describe it as a future of peace and eternal serenity. It calls it an earth where righteousness dwells. That earth will emerge after all these things that make life miserable have passed away. The Bible says the final move of God will be to set them all on fire on a day called the day of the LORD!!!

It described it this way;

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”

2 Peter 3:10 NKJV

This is the scripture that tells us how our earth will end, how all evil will end. On this day, the earth, as we know it, will be refurbished. All that creates pain, death, destruction, and wars will be wiped away. All evil and its works will be taken care of. They will melt with a fervent heat.

The ungodly structures and systems will be burned up.

Whatever causes evil and everything will be no more. It will give birth to a new Heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells. The early church lived her days preparing for that earth. The Bible says they spoke to themselves saying:

“Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

2 Peter 3:13 NKJV

These words were canonized because they hold eternal contents.

We shall reign with the LORD in the new Heaven and the new earth where Righteousness dwells. That is the blessed hope that the righteous should build their lives on. It has a way of helping us to touch the power of the age to come, and to keep ourselves going at this age, until time is no more.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 21:1-4 NKJV
