TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Monday 6th July 2026)
“Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:11-13 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 187TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!
We sleep and wake up because there is the God who does not sleep nor slumber watching over our souls. It’s been our year of strategic victory indeed, a season of God’s uncommon goodness and kindness. He has a history of disappointing the craftiness of the enemies of His people and making sure their hands did not perform their enterprise.
Today God has a word for us. I believe we are ready. There is nothing eternal to live by, if not the word from the LORD. We were created by it and should be formed by it. If the word of the LORD is not allowed to form us, we will be deformed in all areas of our lives, making life itself a misery.
We are in a world where time is passing away. Evil is passing away and even the nicest things of this age are passing away. The Bible is clear on these prophetic truths that we are affirming this morning! But the only thing that is not passing away is a breed of people.
Yes, there is a person who will not pass away but will pass on to a new age where righteousness dwells. These are people who build their hearts on the word of the LORD and live their days doing God’s will. The Bible says they shall never pass away. That they will abide forever.
Yes, even death will have no power over them because it will not bring them to a complete end. It will only help them to transit to a more glorious phase of life.
That is why men like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are still very much alive (though dead) today. We hear them speaking to us each time we read our Bibles. They are now part of the Church that is registered in Heaven.
THEY FORM THE CLOUD OF MANY WITNESSES THAT SURROUND US AND CHEERS US TO KEEP RUNNING THE RACE AND FINISH WELL.
When they were in this wicked world, they lived by the word of the LORD, and did the will of God and now they are alive forever more. Indeed, any people who build their lives on the word of the LORD, do His will while living in the body of sin, will not pass away!
Jesus Himself certified them “alive” when He said, “God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” And that “He is the God of the living and not the Dead.”
The word of the LORD is the manna that came down from Heaven, which if we eat and respond positively to, we will abide forever. It carries what it takes to keep us connected to the Life of GOD in this life and the life to come. These men received and ate the word.
Today, after over 4000 years; they are still alive in the programs of God on earth.
One thing many do not know is that whatever gets planted into a man’s soul remains with him even after death. Death does not erase memories from the spirit and soul of a man. It does not erase the truths buried in that soul. It therefore cannot remove the word of the LORD the soul may have fed on before it dies.
Dying in Christ only perfects the revelations of God in a man’s soul, because he is stepping out of his body and going into a realm where what he fed on while here is tangible. So, if you are spending your life in the word of the LORD you are getting your soul filled with things that will last forever.
This means, whenever you sit to be taught the word, you are securing your eternal life. Whenever you turn your ear away from it, you are depleting something you will have had in full in the next life. The word of the LORD has eternal blessings and that is what our hearts must be fixed on when we open the scriptures to find what to feed our souls with and what to live by.
NOW, APART FROM THE ETERNAL BLESSING OF THE WORD WE ALSO HAVE THE EARTHLY BLESSINGS OF THE WORD.
A part of our devotional text says,
“For the word of God is and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
No matter what the devil may have done in your life, the word of the LORD can undo it all. Our devotional text says the word is quick and powerful; powerful enough to neutralize whatever wants you weak, poor, sick, sinful, ungodly or even dead.
Its eternal power can deal with anything in time because it attracts a measure of the Holy Spirit into our lives when we feed on it through meditation, and when we allow it to create the very thoughts we think. It also activates the power of God to bless our lives when it is obeyed.
So, if you are holding your Bible in your hand, you are not just holding a book but something that will unlock God’s power and bless your life.
You are holding something that you should allow to create the thoughts you think and the life you live. That is why you become most blessed if you have a pastor who will help you understand it, stir you to feed on it, and drive you to obey it.
I believe God has spoken to someone this morning.
Let me leave us with one of the beautiful words the Spirit of God spoke by my lips yesterday. Indeed, we had many eternal moments in yesterday’s service. Words that can open anyone up to a realm of peace, restoration, recovery and new life came. One of it said, “what you did may have been responsible for that illness, but what Jesus did will be responsible for your healing.”
That means we should stop thinking about what we did and begin to think about what Jesus did, else we might not be delivered. It is through the knowledge of what Jesus did that we will be delivered not the knowledge of what we did and how it has created our problems.
Friend, Satan may have used what you did to make you sick, poor, or bring you to the gates of hell, death and grave. But it is what Jesus did on the cross that God will use to save you. Go for the revelation of what He did and let it fill your thoughts and you will experience a sudden breakthrough!!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!!
“Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, everyone, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:4-6 NKJV
