TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (THURSDAY 23RD July 2026)
“In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed, they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.” Isaiah 54:14-15 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 204TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!
It’s been 204 days of sleeping and waking up, all by His marvelous kindness. We give Him the glory for all He has been doing in our lives.
Indeed, it is out of His Mercies that we are not consumed. He does not really deal with us according to our iniquities but according to His mercies. But that is not to say He wants us to continue in our trespasses.
The Bible says;
“Our God is the God of salvation; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death. But God will wound the head of His enemies, The hairy scalp of the one who still goes on in his trespasses.” Psalm 68:20-21 NKJV
This scripture presents a perfect revelation of the sides of God’s love. There is a side that makes Him the God of our salvation who helps us to escape death. That is the side that forgives, protects, provides, manifests in goodness, kindness, etc. This is the side that does not deal with us according to our sins.
There is also a side that wound the head of His enemies, and the hairy scalp of the one who still goes on in His trespasses. That is the shade of His love that is tough, chastises His own, corrects them and punishes them when they keep on doing ungodly things that destroys His name in their lives.
Sadly, we forget this part whenever we are moved to satisfy our flesh. God is calling on us this morning to rise above a life that continues in its trespasses and receive grace to be established in righteousness. Yes, to be established in righteousness. Our devotional text says:
“In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed, they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.” Isaiah 54:14-15 NKJV
This scripture tells us the blessing of being established in righteousness, something the enemy does not want for any of us. When we are established in righteousness over time, we will become far from oppression.
BUT WHEN WE ARE NOT, ONE DAY WE WILL FALL INTO CALAMITY.
God does not want us to fall into calamity. It will be against His redemptive plans for our lives. He said in His word. “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” The call to salvation is an invitation to have rest from our enemies. Not having that rest will negate the purpose of the call.
God wants us to have that rest that is why He warns us of the things we do that might plunge us into the cruel hands of calamities. He warns us and gives us grace and truth to heed His warning so that we might not fall into calamities.
To fall into calamities means to experience deep distress or disaster. Sometimes it comes as a trial of faith like in the case of Job, other times it comes because of not being established in righteousness. When we are not established in righteousness, we can be overthrown by any evil from hell. But when we are established, we may fall seven times but will ultimately rise again.
The decree is to keep us from oppression. The will of the LORD is to make sure we live our days on earth far from oppression or any form of calamities. Except for the cost of doing His will in a perverse and crooked generation, God designed the Christian faith to give us rest on every side.
He designed that even when we are struck down, we are not destroyed, when we are persecuted, we are not forsaken. He designed that we do not faint in the day of adversity. He designed that we live a life that is far from any oppression from the pits of hell.
When we are far from oppression, we will be far from terror, and no evil will befall us. If no evil befalls us, we will be growing in leaps and bounds and making strides in life and succeeding by the strength of God. Our lives will be the envy of nations and people will be attracted to our God. Amen and amen!!!
May the LORD grant you strategic victories for the rest of your years on the face of the earth. May your life be precious in the sight of all who see you, so that they show you favor in Jesus precious name.
