TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (SUNDAY 26TH July 2026)
“ Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
Genesis 5:21-24 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 207TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!
The Bible teaches that the LORD has been mindful of us. Today, we do not just need that truth to know that is true, our lives testify how mindful He has been of us. For 207 days this year alone, we have seen His goodness, kindness, mercy, peace and greatness.
The ocean of His love is the best ocean to be drown in. The power of His mercies is the best power to yield to. The running of His goodness after us is the best we would ever see on this side of eternity. The preparation for the next life is the best preparation we would ever have. To him be the glory, amen.
God is our eternal rock of ages, His arm is our eternal support that speaks in time day after day, His presence is the eternal comfort that takes care of all our needs. Yes, it takes care of all our needs. It is a place that you would not be in a hurry to depart from. That is why Moses would not have returned from it if God had not said, “go back.”
God had to terminate His active stay there after 40 days. The Bible put it this way;
“So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.”
Exodus 34:28 NKJV
Why did He not eat bread or drink water in the presence of the LORD? Was it because there was no bread or water? The answer is no. Do not forget, there can be bread and water in God’s presence if one needs it because God is the source of all things. There is no scarcity with Him or in Him.
Moses did not eat bread or drink water because the measure of the presence that came shut down the need for food and water in his body system. There is a dimension of God’s presence that shuts down our need for food and water and unlocks an ecstasy that is eternal. That is why I say the presence of God is not a place where you would be in a hurry to leave when you find it.
ANYTHING YOU CALL THE PRESENCE OF GOD THAT YOU ARE IN A HURRY TO LEAVE IS NOT THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD.
If you find it while in this body or while outside it, you will not want to leave it. The Bible says, for us who have been saved from eternal damnation by the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. That was why a woman once died and people gathered around her to pray her back to life. They were crying and wailing.
In fact, her man of God husband, was the one that led the prayer.
After a while she woke up and shouted at them all, and said, “why are you disturbing my time with the LORD. She then warned them not to ever ask Him to bring her back, that she was in the presence of the LORD.” Then to their shock, she fell back and died. They all were awestruck and could say nothing.
Her funeral became one of the few funerals people could not cry, wail or lament for the loss of someone. No one shed tears, in fact you won’t know they were at a funeral.
If you are in God’s presence, either in your body or outside of your body, you would not want to leave. It is not a place any of us would want to leave when we find it. That is why I am very careful about praying for the physically dead back to life. I prefer praying for the spiritually dead back to life than the physically dead.
Gospel ministry is to raise the spiritually dead and bring them back to life in Christ. Heaven rejoices when that happens. Jesus put it this way;
“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”
Luke 15:7 NKJV
WHEN WE WORK WITH THE LORD TO BRING TO THE LIFE OF CHRIST PEOPLE WHO WERE DEAD IN THEIR TRESPASSES, HEAVEN REJOICES.
When such people die in Christ, they would not want anyone on earth to pray them back to life. That is why the mature are slow at praying for the righteous who leave this world back to life. Except the Spirit moves them like He moved Peter in the book of Acts; they would not take such a step.
To be in his presence is so satisfying that you would not want to leave.
No one would want to leave the glory of His presence when they find it, even in death. You will be here praying that God brings them back to life, and prophesying that they would not die, while they are there telling the LORD, “Do not answer such prayers. Let me remain with you.”
If you see God bringing any back to life, it is either to prevent their souls from perishing in hell, or to bring them back to the earth to complete His assignment for their lives. Once none of this apply, they would never return. The only person that would be raised from dead and be happy that he or she was raised, is the soul that went to hell when it died.
These are the souls the Bible says we should seek God to bring back to life, if His Spirit stir us to do so.
Today is Sunday. I believe we are all preparing for church. It is my prayer that you find God’s active presence in church today, not just the one that will heal you, deliver you or bless you, but the dimension you would want to remain in; a type you will not want to depart from. The type men like Enoch and Moses found; the type Elijah survived His days in. Amen!
Enoch was in it on daily bases. History has it that He took trips within it from eternity to time until one day He got to a dimension out of this world and never returned. He never returned because the LORD never said, “go back.” It was not just His spirit that never returned, even His body never returned.
The type of God’s presence that Enoch found in his walk and talk with the LORD, was not the type that you visit with your spirit only, it was the type you visit with your body as well, a type of God’s presence that the end time Church will step into one day.
HE IS STILL THERE TILL DATE. OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT SAYS:
“ Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
Genesis 5:21-24 NKJV
As we bring this to a close, it is important that we reiterate again that no one will want to depart from His presence if He truly finds it. If you find something you call God’s presence and you find yourself in a hurry to go away from it, it is either the devil is pulling you out, you are having a demon, or the place is not the presence of the LORD.
No human would want to leave the Presence of the LORD when they find it. No soul would want to walk away from His glory.
The glory of God’s presence was the very place God created man and put into. Moses explained it this way; “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.” (Psalm 90:1). Until the fall of man, the glory of God’s presence was man’s home just as water has been a home for fishes and all amphibians.
That is why you will find yourself depressed if you live your life away from the glory of God’s presence.
Our greatest joy, recovery and peace comes from His presence. May His presence never depart from you, and may you never depart from His presence. Amen and amen.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY
“And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.
All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door.
So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.”
Exodus 33:9-11 NKJV
