TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 11th February 2020)
“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” Exodus 23:25 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 42nd DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING
God has been gracious to us. He has been showing us great truths on His original plan for our health to bring us into His health plans for our lives. Don’t forget our bodies are His temple. God does not want His temple sick. He wants it healthy. Sickness is not His original plan for His temple, it should never be our plans.
The central theme of our devotional yesterday was a revelation about the stone to roll away for our health to come out of any grave of sicknesses and diseases. In other words, there is something to do to be saved from health problems. And that can only be revealed to you personally by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it is revealed scientifically. Yes, God is not against medical science.
For the hardliners, we must understand that faith does not mean denying medication. Medical science can be used to prove faith.
For instance, everyone God has healed, from HIV to all other incurables in our ministry was strongly urged to go carry out a test and find out if the disease is still there before coming to testify. That is not an act of doubt. The Bible says, test and see that the LORD is good! So, its an act of faith. We were acting on the word.
AS A RESULT, NONE LOST THEIR HEALING. THEY ONLY AFFIRMED THEIR HEALING!
You don’t loose your healing using medical science to either affirm your healing or establish it. You establish your healing. So, we will need medical science sometimes to know the stone to roll away with prayer and faith in the word of the LORD for the LORD to act!
So many Christians have spiritualized their health conditions to their death. God is not against medication. They denied themselves medical attention, regular check up of the body and other things until they dropped death suddenly. We must not be that stupid. We must learn to go for regular checkups and receive any medical help that is offered to help us stay healthy.
If you have been having frequent health problems and just praying about it, be careful, you may die in it. Prayer without action is dying without knowing. You may just drop death and make people think it’s the devil. While it was you! Don’t neglect medical science while praying. Go for it.
If you neglected your health and your body shut down in one moment and get you killed, you will be cutting the number of days GOD wants you to live on earth!
A prison officer asked the apostles who were imprisoned for preaching the gospel, “What must I do to be saved.” The apostles responded, “Believe in the LORD Jesus, you shall be saved you and your house.” There are stated things to do to be saved. Proper medical care could be that thing you must keep doing to be saved. It is where proper medical science fail that we surrender to the great physician Himself without, maybe engaging any other physician.
IN DEALING WITH DISEASES THAT DEFY MEDICAL SCIENCE, THE PROPHETIC ANOINTING CAN BE VERY HELPFUL!
If the prophetic goes active, it will tell us what to do to be saved from an incurable disease. It will not tell you to sow a seed to anyone. I remember a prophet in the United States asking the founding of one of the Christian Tv Stations who was down with cancer to sow one million dollars to be healed. He said God told him. I was watching keenly!
That was after He has called people accurately by their names and even telephone numbers and house addresses. So, everyone believed. I remember Pastor Benny Hinn was in-charge. He just allowed the Prophet to prophesy because he was bringing him to his shows to raise money.
Sadly, the man seeded the million and died few months later. Today, that prophet has disappeared. He shown the skies of America for short period and disappeared. The Bible calls such folks shooting stars!
So, the Holy Spirit will not tell you to sow a seed to get healed. He will show you were you are missing it. And I want to highlight certain things that may be of help. As you go through them, my prayer is that you listen to the Holy Spirit and let Him whisper to you which of them can be applied on your situation, especially if you are sick.
Our devotional text today says “..You shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” Meaning serving Jesus in spirit and in truth, brings healing to any sickness or diseases. God said He will take it away from you.
I have enjoyed the blessing of divine healing and health for over 23 years now, because of God’s faithfulness in my life. He keeps His word and I keep myself within His word by His mercies. One word I have kept myself to in His word on kingdom service.
KINGDOM SERVICE IS ONE THING YOU MUST DO TO BE SAVED FROM SICKNESS AND DISEASES.
Serving God unconditionally with our talent, our treasures and our time will save us from sicknesses and diseases if we do it according to divine plan or rule.
Sadly, many are serving GOD with sicknesses in their body. While we may not understand why it is so in the lives of faithful people of GOD, it is clear in GOD’s word that it is not the will of God for us to serve God with sickness in our bodies. It will slow us down.
The truth is, not every service we render to GOD bring healing to our bodies. I defined the kind of service that brings healing and divine health as “Kingdom Service.”
Kingdom service is different form Church or religious service. While Church and religious services are always good ideas conceived to move the work of God forward, Kingdom service is purely God’s idea. It has no religious or human stain.
Sadly, many are involved in what they think is God’s work, that is why they are not seeing the blessing of divine health or healing. Except we are close to our death like Elisha, no one can be involved in Kingdom service without being kept healthy by the KING of kings and LORD of lords Himself.
That is His own way of making sure our services to Him continues.
Kingdom service is serving God according to His perfect will for your life. It is not getting involved in Church work just because you are a Christian. If we do not come to terms with these truths, we will keep denying ourselves the blessing.
By God’s grace, I have never allowed myself to be involved in religious or Church services after I saw things happen as I was growing. I have always been involved in Kingdom services both in Church and outside the Church. The two are not the same.
ONE IS SERVING THE LORD ACCORDING TO HIS PERFECT WILL, THE OTHER IS NOT. IT IS JUST BEING GOOD AND RELIGIOUS.
I have heard of Christians who served and served and served until they become sick and died at even very early ages. Making things appear as if God is not faithful to His promise.
If you ask many of us in Church today, we will tell you how we just came back from this crusade to preach to the lost, that hospital to pray for the sick, this camp meeting, how we clean up the Church every day, sing the Choir, do not miss a weekly meeting, serve the pastors, visit the poor and give them support, and etc. yet we are not blessed with either divine health or healing.
Many work FOR GOD and not FROM GOD. That is why they are sickly despite their service to God. Don’t forget, you must not avoid medication where necessary while serving Him. The Bible says we shall serve the LORD our God and He will take sickness away from our midst. He could use medication to take it away!
If we are serving in our Churches or ministries in GOD’s way, God’s will and respecting health rules, and He is not taking sickness away from us, it means the problem is with us not with God.
To work from God is to offer services He reveals to you to offer in His kingdom at an immediate present. But to work for God is to just get yourself involved with Church work because the pastor said so; or because it’s a good thing to do as a Christian or man of God. In most cases, people serve a nonexistent or dead will of God. That is why they do not see His word manifest in their lives.
You will never see the power of God in your health if you are doing what He has not assigned you to do. I believe it’s His own way of telling you to walk out of it else you will have no reward for it in Heaven when you die.
Other times also people do what is clearly divine will but without a pure heart. They do it to please men and have stories to tell.
They do not serve faithfully, hence not abounding with the blessing. The Bible says a faithful man will abound with blessings. The manifestation of a blessing from God is a sign that one is faithfully serving God in Heaven’s assigned plan and purpose for his life.
As we bring this devotional to a close, I want you to understand that kingdom service is a thing you must do to be saved.
If you are involved in Kingdom service, God will take away sickness from your life and keep you healthy. But if you are involved in what look like it but is not, you will never see this blessing. I am a living testimony!
