TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 4TH August 2020)
“For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
“For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath,’ They shall not enter My rest,'” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” Hebrew 4:2-3 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 215TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING
As we get closer and closer to the consummation of all things and the final return of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ, the Bible made it clear that the mystery of God shall be finished. Meaning, we shall come to a perfect understanding of hidden truths in God!
There can be no better way of partaking of this prophecy than becoming part of the 50 Days Wings of the Spirit, as God Baptize us with the Spirit of Prophecy.
The essence of the truths that are hidden in God and then revealed to us, is to bring us to the place of manifesting the fullness of GOD and becoming all that God pre-planned us to be.
Revealed truths are living seeds that need to be planted into our lives to make us trees of righteousness that Jesus might be glorified.
Our devotional word today is simple, instructive, and maybe deep!
It is about the lessons we can draw from family life. One major mandate GOD gave mankind is to be fruitful and multiply within the marriage institution. But sometimes barrenness does come to threaten this mandate.
HOWEVER, BARRENNESS OR FRUITFULNESS IN MARRIAGE HAS A LOT OF LESSONS TO TEACH THE END TIME CHRISTIAN.
When a family cannot bear a child after marriage, the first-person society blame is the woman. In fact, there was a time when no one considered the fact that a man can be the reason for childlessness in marriage. The blame went to the woman until science began to prove men wrong.
Now we know that while in some cases it is the womb of the woman that cannot conceive, it is now clear that the seed of a man can be responsible for bareness in marriage.
No matter how fruitful the womb of a woman is, if the seed of the man that enters it is bad, that womb will never conceive a Child.
On the other hand, if the womb of a woman is not fruitful, no matter how powerful the seed of a man is, that womb will never conceive a Child.
When it comes to bearing a child in marriage both prospective parents must be fruitful. Meaning, all that form their reproductive system must be functional optimally.
What spiritual truth can we draw from this natural reality?
THE SEED OF A MAN REPRESENTS THE WORD OF THE LORD, AND THE WOMB OF A WOMAN REPRESENTS THE SPIRIT OF MAN.
There are Christians whose spirits cannot conceive anything no matter how powerful, effective, anointed, sanctified, miracle-producing and deep the word of God they hear is. In the spirit, conception is the key to delivery; in simple terms, what have not been conceived in your spirit cannot be born in your life.
It is what we conceive in our spirits that God will make to be born in our lives. If our spirits conceive nothing, our lives will be barren of all good things Irrespective of the revelations we may be hearing.
For instance, if a word of favor, prosperity, healing, deliverance, or holiness comes from the LORD as a living seed (not just some empty words), maybe through the mouth of a preacher to us, and our ears hears it but our spirits did not receive and conceive it, there will be no manifestation of that word in your life.
It will just add to our information bank but with never add value to our lives.
Our devotional text said,
“The word did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith in them that heard it”.
Consequently, they did not enter God’s rest. Until a living word meets a fruitful over time, a man’s life will never come into God’s fullness and rest for it. That is what you find in the first chapter of Psalm.
If we spend quality time in GOD’s word, meditating on it day and night, our spirits will catch something. Whatever our spirits catches will be born into our lives. The mystery of GOD’s living word impregnating our spirits and bringing forth His manifestation in our lives is one mystery to be understood and held strongly to.
Often, we are troubled on every side, we wonder and even blame God or those He may have sent to us for our problems, particularly when they speak a word to us that we do not see its immediate manifestation in our lives.
Though in a church that is infiltrated with con men and women called prophets and prophetess, we must be careful what we take to be a word from the LORD.
You see, if a prophetic person speaks a word that GOD has not spoken in such a way that everyone believes God has spoken, that will not make GOD perform the word.
OUR FAITH IN A WORD THAT IS NOT FROM THE LORD WILL NOT MAKE HIM PERFORM IT.
I want to reiterate again that faith is one powerful force that can pull God down to do the impossible. But having faith in a word that is not from GOD will not make Him perform it. You must have faith in a word that is truly from God for that word to be performed.
While in some cases it is the quality or source of the word of the preacher that is responsible for the lack of performance from the LORD, in other cases it is the spirits of those who may have received it that is the problem. Their spirits are not fruitful enough to conceive the word and have it performed in their lives.
David said,
“The entrance of thy word gives light.”
It means, when the word of the LORD enters a man’s spirit, it will produce something in the man. However, if the word that enters is dead, empty, and unfruitful but your spirit is alive and fruitful, it will still not produce anything in you.
Words are seeds, and the quality of the seed depends on the source. If the word is from man or the evil one, it will not produce something good in us. But if it is from the LORD, it will produce something good in us. That is when it becomes a medium of transaction between Heaven and earth.
Indeed, words from the LORD, bring blessings from Heaven to a man’s life. However, until such words enter our spirit and plant a spiritual picture of what God is saying into us, our lives will be barren of the manifestations of the word in our lives.
A FRUITFUL SPIRIT MEETING A LIVING WORD IS REMAINS THE KEY TO THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S WORD IN A MAN’S LIFE.
Are there things in Christ that you are yet to enter as a Child of God? Are there blessings you are yet to come into? The key to coming into them lies in the truths you have just encountered in this devotional today.
Get your spirit full of God. Make it alive and fruitful. Then locate a preacher with a true, living, and rich word that will meet your spiritual needs, and take your seat under Him. Over time, there will be a conception in your spirit, and you will come into the manifestation of GOD’s promises for your life.
