TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 11TH FEBRUARY 2023)
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.” Hebrews 11:8-12 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 42ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS!
It has been 42 days of God’s mercies, compassion, amazing grace, marvelous kindness, care and deep concern for us. We will remain ever grateful to Him for all He has done for us these 42 days.
Today is the 11th day of our 28-day journey of faith with the Cry of the Spirit on supernatural living. The Christian faith is a product of the supernatural of God. Its foundation was laid by a powerful supernatural move of GOD, demonstrated in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The first set of believers who became part of it, were integrated supernaturally, through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The born-again experience is a supernatural thing. It is not a psychological or religious thing; it is exclusive a supernatural thing.
You do not move from being a lost sinner to becoming a saved and sanctified child of God naturally. It is usually a product of God’s supernatural move, acting on a genuine salvation decision. The Bible calls the supernatural power God supplies to make us His Children, power to become a child of God. The word says;
“He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13 NKJV
SO, CHRISTIANITY IS A PRODUCT OF THE SUPERNATURAL OF GOD!
Becoming a Child of God, is not possible naturally, psychologically, or religiously. It is only possible by the power to become a child of God as depicted in this scripture.
That is why if your salvation experience was just a psychological or religious one, it will not result in a change in your moral nature. You will still be comfortable with sin and wickedness, calling it your weakness, and saying no one is perfect. It is when the experience is supernatural that we experience a change in our moral nature.
It sparks off a new life that becomes awake to righteousness, a life that is no longer comfortable with sinful living. It brings us to realm of walking in signs and wonders. That is why signs and wonders, in terms of miracles, are the heritage of God’s Kingdom Citizens.
Yes, walking in the supernatural of God is something that should be happening in the life of every Child of God. As soon as you experience the miracle of salvation, it should result in a life of walking in the miraculous power of God. The reason is because as soon as we get saved, we join a kingdom where signs and wonders are a regular manifestation.
That is why, the first thing that the Bible says follow a believer in Christ is not a set of problems, an army of demons, or some financial challenges. The first thing that follow him or her, is signs and wonders. That means as soon as you come into the kingdom of God, signs and wonders should break forth in your life. The word says;
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
They will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18 NKJV
This scripture made it clear that signs and wonders should follow they that believe, not demonic attacks, depravity, sicknesses, diseases, curses, what they call ancestral forces, or any of that. Meaning, if you find any of these dark things or their relatives following you as a child of GOD, it is illegal.
YOU LACK THE CONSECRATION FOR THEM TO STOP FOLLOWING YOU.
So, it is not a deliverance preacher you need, but one who will teach you how to consecrate after salvation.
God says we are to be followed by signs and wonders, we are to be walking in His supernatural power as soon as we come into Christ. That is our heritage. So, if it is not happening in your life, you have not stepped into the heritage; you need to do so as quickly as possible.
You will be limited by human and demonic factors in life if you do not.
Can you imagine Moses stepping into Egypt to demand for Israel’s freedom, and there was no supernatural power to back him? He would have been arrested, killed and made a public example to others who may try.
Can you imagine Israel getting to the red sea and there was no supernatural power from God to help them cross it? That would have been the end for the nation. There would have been no Israel on earth.
Many freedom fighters have tried to bring people out of captivity and died doing so because there was no supernatural power backing them. Many have attempted crossing over even streams and got drown because there was no supernatural power of God to save them. Life without the supernatural power of God will be limited by human and demonic factors.
When we try doing something naturally, and its not working, kingdom wisdom demands that we engage the supernatural power of God to get it done. When you try succeeding in Business naturally, and its not working, engage the supernatural power of God.
WHEN YOU TRY GETTING A CHILD AFTER MARRIAGE NATURALLY AND ITS NOT WORKING, ENGAGE THE SUPERNATURAL POWER OF GOD.
When you are sick, and every attempt you have made to get well naturally is not working; you have been given the best medical care and things are still not working, your health is not picking up, please engage the supernatural of God. If you do not, you may lose your life.
Do not engage the supernatural of the devil, it will heal you and later kill you when you have forgotten. Satan will eat who he saves. Engage the supernatural of God because it is our authentic survival kit on earth.
When things that ought to happen naturally, refuse to happen, that is a call for the supernatural power of God to be put to work. If you do not have it, you will be hindered and neutralized completely.
That is why God gives us power as soon as we come into His kingdom. The Bible says,
“And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:18-20 NKJV
He gives us power so that we can be engaging His supernatural to get things done if the natural fail us. God will not want us limited in life by demonic and human factors. There is so much we would not be able to do for Him on earth if we are limited.
Salvation is a beautiful work of the supernatural of God, that plants His seed into our spirits. When His seed is planted in us, we lose our names to His name, our nature to His nature, our authority to His authority, our will to His will, and all our fallen dimensions to His glory dimension.
Yes, when His seed is planted in us, it confers on us the name that is above all other names, and the Bible says, at that name, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus is LORD.
THAT IS WHAT MAKES THE SUPERNATURAL OF GOD A HALLMARK IN OUR LIVES.
So, as soon as you come into the kingdom of God, signs and wonders should break forth in your life. If they have not broken forth in your life, it is because you lack the consecration. That is why we are to live a life of consecration after salvation.
Sadly, most believers today do not experience the supernatural of God in their lives, they rather key into the supernatural of the devil that place a demand on their faith and finances. They are comfortable with it because it does not place a demand on their morality.
We have seen in this journey, that the supernatural of GOD will place a demand on your morality, calling you to be holy, pure and righteous.
Unlike the supernatural of the devil, the supernatural of God will place a demand on your consecration after salvation. That brings us to what we have been sharing on lately; consecration patterns in the lives of men and women who are currently in the cloud of many witnesses in Heaven.
Our devotional text presents to us a consecration pattern in the life of Abraham.
It says;
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.” Hebrews 11:8-12 NKJV
This scripture presented two fundamental truths: the first is the kind of supernatural power that Abraham walked in, the second is the secret of the power. The Bible says the supernatural power he walked in made in a father of many nations.
DO NOT FORGET, GOD DID NOT MEET HIM FRUITFUL. HE MET HIM BARREN.
The Bible says he was as good as dead.
Meaning, his reproductive system, and that of his wife, was as good as the reproductive system of dead people. There was no way they would have bore children. But after the supernatural power of God broke out in their lives, things changed.
Our devotional text says,
“Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore” (Hebrews 11:8-12 NKJV).
The secret of this outbreak of God in their lives, was not an altar of sacrifice, an offering he gave, some olive oil, salt, holy water, or candle he used in prayer, or whatever. It was a life of consecration. The Bible says;
“By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:9-10 NKJV.
The City Abraham waited for is the New Jerusalem that is coming in the age to come. In other words, he caught a revelation of the age to come and lived a life that aligned with it. That was his consecration pattern; the very pattern that will be birth in you when you experience the authentic grace of GOD.
You will no longer live an earth-bound or governed life. You will begin to live a life governed by your wait for the city, which has foundation, whose maker and builder is God, leading to an outbreak of the power of the age to come in your life.
There is so much that we can still share, but enough have been shared for the day. It is my prayer that the power of the Holy Spirit will act on it, and help us all come to the realm of the supernatural in God, preserved for our age; and greater realms than what our fathers saw, in Jesus precious name. Amen!!

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us,
that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.” Titus 2:11-14 NKJV
