TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 10TH APRIL 2024)
Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him.
The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.” Genesis 26:12-14 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 101ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
It is another day from the Day Himself and we give Him the glory for keeping us alive. Only in Christ do you have such blessings, where your LORD and Savior is the Day Himself, shining all His goodness into your own days.
Men like Job survived the fiery trials of their faith because God’s goodness was shining into their days. It shone before the trial came; it used his faith to make him the richest of all the men of that time, age, and region.
In fact, God’s goodness blessed Job so much that Satan became jealous.
When he would finally strike, it kept shining through his days, and he came out with double for all His trouble. No one can survive a dark world like ours, without the goodness of the LORD shining through his or her days.
The Bible says, the whole world lies under the sway of the evil one. Most of those sways are responsible for our woes. He swayed Eve in the Garden, and Adam did what he should not have done, and here we are.
Friend, we need God’s goodness to survive life here. We need His goodness because most of what is against us is beyond us. Only God’s goodness can cheaply handle them.
From the life of Job, and the lives of other men in the Bible, it is clear that a man’s life was originally designed to survive by so many Heavenly things. One of it is the goodness of the LORD. That was why when Moses asked the LORD to show Him His glory, the Bible says;
Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Exodus 33:19 NKJV
Moses saw something that many of us need to be seeing daily that day. He saw the goodness of the LORD pass before him. I call that the Moses Blessing. We all need that blessing, the blessing of having the goodness of God pass before us, and even through us, if need be.
Child of God, it is God’s will that we live lives that experience the passing of His goodness before us every day. Yes, God wants to make His goodness to be passing before you daily, especially in your day of adversity.
IF THE LORD MAKES HIS GOODNESS PASS BEFORE YOU IN BATTLE FOR EXAMPLE, NO WEAPON USED AGAINST YOU WILL PROSPER.
If the LORD makes His goodness pass before you when you are sick, every disease or spirit of infirmity that might be responsible for your ill-health, will disappear and you will break forth into health.
If the LORD makes His goodness pass before you daily, it will change your seasons. You will move from a season of toiling painfully to a season of thriving prosperously.
You will see your seasons changing and great things happening in your life successively.
Evil men and women might have passed through your life and destroyed it. Do not worry, or fret about it. It will only make you bitter and not better. Just seek God’s goodness to restore you back.
The Bible says;
“You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.” Psalm 102:13 NKJV
From this scripture, it is clear that the time to favor and restore you has come. You only need the goodness of the LORD to be passing through your life daily, until you are fully restored.
So, ask for it. It will rebuild your life again. Ask for the goodness of the LORD to be passing before you on daily basis.
God has a History of doing that. He loves making his goodness pass before His own, especially when they ask for it. The exploits of His goodness are beyond what the enemy can do or might have done in our lives. The list is endless.
For instance, if the LORD makes His goodness pass before you when people want you down, you will begin to rise to their amazement, and become stronger, prosperous, and very successful. You will break all the limits they placed over your life.
THAT IS WHY, IF PEOPLE WANT YOU DEAD OR DOWN, DO NOT CONTEND WITH THEM OR ASK THAT THEY DIE.
Just live a life that is pleasing to the LORD, then spend your days asking Him to be making His goodness pass before you as you do. Ask Him in persistent prayers and right living, to keep shining His goodness in your days. There is no greatness you will not achieve and no evil intention you will not defeat if you do that.
The event of our devotional text was exciting when it happened.
It is still exciting today, especially each time we look at it by the help of the Holy Spirit. It was about Isaac, a man who faced most of the very challenges that some of us face in life today.
The Bible says he lived among a people who never liked him. They once shut down all the wells he and his servants dug, so that he would not have water to serve his needs, and water was so essential in his days like crude oil is in our days.
Shutting down his water wells was like shutting down his oil wells. Those guys were wicked.
Now, apart from the challenges of dwelling among wicked men and women, he one time had the weather to contend with. There was a very terrible famine that broke out that almost forced him to return to the old paths. But in all these things, God’s goodness was always passing before him.
When famine hit the land and he wanted to move out, God’s voice stopped him, and God’s goodness later helped him to come out well. Our devotional text says;
People that God’s voice leads, God’s goodness meets.
People that God’s voice governs, God’s goodness will be made to pass before them whenever they need it. God’s goodness met Isaac when he needed it, and he began to prosper, and continued to prosper, until he became very prosperous, despite the enemy.
FRIEND, THAT IS THE GOD YOU NEED. THE GOD OF THIS ISAAC, WHO LEADS AND BLESSES THOSE HE LEADS.
Yes, who governs and fills His own with His goodness.
You do not need the god of self, the god of fortune, the god of fortress, the god of gold, or the god of sex and perverted marriages. You need the God of Isaac, who fills His own with His goodness, and blesses them to make a statement to their enemies.
You need this God who makes His goodness to pass before His own.
God would later make more of His goodness pass before Isaac, when they shut down his wells successively. The Bible says he kept digging them again, because of His faith in God’s goodness to help him against his enemies.
That is the faith we need. The faith in God’s goodness.
And because Isaac believed in God’s goodness, God kept making it pass before him until he got to his Rehoboth; a place God’s goodness made room for him and helped him to weary his enemies.
You are the next on God’s list!!!!
Just run with this word for the rest of your life. What runs after you is determined by the word you are running with in life. Run with this word, and God’s goodness will be running after you.
As we bring this to a close, permit me to reiterate again that you need a life that God’s goodness pass before day and night to succeed in this world. We were designed to succeed by God’s goodness.
If God makes His goodness pass before you day and night, every curse that might be on your life will be turned into blessings.
ALL THAT THE ENEMY HAS HINDERED IN YOUR LIFE WILL BE RELEASED.
When the LORD makes all His goodness pass before you day and night, and you live right afterwards, it will get to a point where it will fill every detail of your life and help you to begin to prosper, continue to prosper, until you become very prosperous.
The goodness that passed before Moses, made him what he is today in God’s kingdom.
He even touched immortality by it. The Bible says at 120 years, his eyes never grew dim. What He saw kept his eyes strong. Not just his eyes, but his life also. He saw nothing but the goodness of the LORD. That is all you need to be seeing to live a strong life.
Yes, that is what you need to be seeing daily to have a strong spiritual life, a strong financial life, a strong health, a strong career, a strong grace upon your life, a strong victory over all your enemies, and a strong everything that your life needs to be blissful on earth.
By Biblical definition, God’s goodness represents everything that God is, everything that God has, and everything that God desires for us to experience, especially at an immediate present.
That is what you need to be seeing daily.
Always proclaim the goodness of the LORD, especially when things are down with you. Always declare, “I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Let that proclamation never cease from coming out of your mouth.
May the LORD God of Heaven and earth bless you with His goodness every day. May you see what our Bible fathers saw in their days, when the LORD made His goodness pass before them.
May your eyes never see evil. May they be filled with the sight of God’s goodness no matter what the enemy might want you to see, in Jesus’ precious name. Amen!!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY
