TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 11TH MAY 2024)
“The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance has turned into mourning. The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!
Because of this our heart is faint; because of these things our eyes grow dim; Because of Mount Zion which is desolate, with foxes walking about on it.” Lamentations 5:15-18 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 132ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
Glory be to the LORD God for His marvelous deeds and gracious acts.
This is another day that he has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it. Day unto day He has been showing us His mercies and kindness. Night unto night He has been fighting our battles and helping us dwell securely according to His covenant with us.
This is the confidence we have in Him; heaven and earth might pass away, but His word for our lives will never pass away.
Yes, the word of the LORD never dies. That is why those who do the will it reveals will never die. Though their days might come to an end, their spirits will go back to eternity to live before the LORD of Heaven and earth, for ever and ever.
One of them was our Bible father Paul, who lived God’s will all his life, and revealed it to us. He was so synchronized with it that he was used by the LORD to lay the pattern for the Christian faith.
At one time, he said, “for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” People who do the will of God in the word of the LORD do not come to an end, because the word that brings the revelation of that will is eternal. It does not die.
I believe if you become a Christian who does the will of God revealed in the word of the LORD, though your days might come to an end, you will live forever in the presence of the LORD of Heaven and earth; the eternal God who never dies.
Today again, we will be traveling back in time to drink from another well of truth that was dug few years back on this platform. It is my prayer that you find something refreshing to drink and quench a spiritual thirst you may have, in Jesus’ precious name. Amen and amen.
THE HIDDEN POWER OF SCHOOLING IN THE THINGS OF GOD.
One major thing you must seek to get back to, as a child of God, is the dominion that was lost in the Garden of Eden and later restored in Christ. If you do not have that dominion, life on earth will be a misery for you.
The reason for God giving man dominion at creation was because of the fallen angel who was already here in this realm, filling it with darkness, hellish circumstances, and destroying everything, before mankind was created.
His mission to kill, steal, and destroy has been since eternal past.
That was why the perfect earth became without form and void. He also had an ancient hatred on God and all that will be in His image.
In other words, the activities of the evil one was already here before our creation. So, mankind needed dominion so that the enemy will not dominate him and ruin his life.
The next reason for dominion was creation itself. God gave man dominion over creation so that creation will not have dominion over mankind. If creation have dominion over mankind, things like sun burn, pestilence, tsunamis, and etc. will kill the entire human race.
The rivers will kill anyone who tries to take fishes out of it. The skies will throw down any plane that tries to fly through it. The ground itself will seek pay for everything we do on it or we get killed.
Can you imagine an earth like that? It will just be chaos. That is why a life without dominion is a misery on earth. God gave man dominion over fallen angels and creation, so that man could live a prosperous, peaceful, successful, gracious, amazing, and beautiful life on earth.
Which means if your life is not beautiful by God’s definition, prosperous by His design, successful in any way, or if you are not progressing, you lack dominion to do so. You are yet to come into the lost dominion Christ brought back to us.
The Bible says,
God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 AMPC
This scripture defines Dominion as complete authority. You need complete authority over all the works and workers of the evil one.
God created you and I to have complete authority over Satan, his host, and over creation. That is the authority that is lacking in the lives of so many, hence you find millions going through a lot.
Like I stated earlier, your area of suffering, toiling, defeat, failure, or oppression, is the very area you lack dominion in.
SOMETHING IN THAT AREA OF LIFE IS DOMINATING YOU.
Yes, something you should dominate in that area of life is dominating you.
That is why you are failing in your vows, toiling in your economic life, oppressed, defeated, and in sorrow. If you begin to dominate that thing, you will no longer go through what you are going through.
If you begin to have dominion over it, you will no longer suffer what you suffer. Yes, if you have dominion in that suffering area of your life, it will begin to blossom, become beautiful, filling your life with all the beauty of the LORD you desire.
What we are saying is this, whatever might be ailing you, or troubling your life, marriage, walk with the LORD, peace, progress, or prosperity, is ailing or troubling you because you do not have dominion over it. You might have some authority, but you do not have complete authority over it.
You are not going through what you are going through because of an altar, a demon, a curse, or something out there.
You are not going through what you are going through because of what the so-called deliverance minister or prophet says. Most of them blame curses, what they call evil foundations, evil altars, noncompliance to their prophecies, and etc. for the problems people go through.
You are going through what you are going through, not even because God want you to go through it, but because you do not have dominion in that area of suffering.
It could be in your health, your finances, your marriage, or in your spiritual walk, where you desire to lead a holy life and achieve great things for God, if you have complete authority over that area of life, you will see your righteous desires come to pass.
You will see the beautiful life you so desire, springing up, and the peace you so need, filling your life like a river.
MANKIND SUFFER WHAT WE SUFFER DUE TO LOSS OF DOMINION.
Get your dominion back, and you will get your life back.
For instance, the Bible says in the book of Romans that, sin shall not have dominion over us, because we are not under the law but under grace. Meaning, we are the ones to have dominion over sin. Sin should not have dominion over us.
Dominion over sin frees us from its practice, penalty, and presence. The first two happens in time, the last one happens at the end of our days.
Meaning, if we are struggling with sin or sinful habit, all we need is to get our God given dominion over sin restored back to us. We do not need any other thing. Once dominion is restored, a life of sin disappears. Once dominion over sin comes into the possession of your soul, sinful habits disappears.
The same principle applies to every other aspects of our lives.
If you are struggling economically, all you need is for your dominion over lack, poverty, toiling, economic bareness, all forms of spirits of economic hardship, and even aspect of creation that hinders you, to be restored back to you.
Yes, the Bible calls that dominion, power to get wealth.
There is also the dominion over diseases that God gives us. It is hidden in Christ. Once you lose that dominion, you begin to fall sick here and there. To help us out, God will restore it back, leading to not just sound health, but we ministering healing to others.
The import of all these is this, we do not suffer for any reason other than loss of dominion.
Even when Satan want to afflict us or make us go through suffering or oppression, he will seduce us to do things that will make us loose dominion. Once that dominion is lost, bad things will begin to happen to us. That was what happened in the Garden of Eden.
Our devotional text captured it this way. A part of it says,
“The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance has turned into mourning. The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned! Lamentation 5:15 NKJV
THE CROWN HERE IS THE CROWN OF DOMINION.
It fell from our heads in Adam, and things became bad. Thank God Christ came to restore it back, but many have still not received theirs, hence the sufferings, oppression, and etc.
They have not received it because they do not know how it comes.
Some think it comes through going to the mountain to pray, hence going. Others think it comes by raising altars or silencing them. Some think it comes by praying with sand, salt, oil, and etc.
Others think it comes by serving the pastor or the prophet, or giving money every day and taking care of their needs.
Indeed, God will bless you if you take care of the needs of His genuine servants, but dominion over certain things of life, especially those that might be troubling you, does not come that way. That is why many are serving even genuine and anointed people of God, but are still lacking dominion over sin.
Dominion comes through schooling in the things of God, nothing else.
You could be serving the best man of God on earth even by God’s definition, if you do not take your time to be schooled in the things of God, you will still lack dominion. Which brings us to our topic – the reward of schooling in the things of God.
Dominion over what might be dominating you, is a reward of schooling in the things of God.
If you do not take time to be schooled in the things of God, it could be in the school of hard things like the one Job attended, or the school of the Spirit that Ezekiel attended in Ezekiel 2 and 3, schooling in the things of God remains a necessity for walking in dominion.
Schooling in the things of God will increase our spiritual capacity.
When our spiritual capacity increases, our dominion will increase in the spirit. When dominion increases in the Spirit, we will no longer go through what we might be going through. We will no longer suffer the oppression we might be suffering. We will break from the yoke. That is the secret.
Get a church that school people in the things of God and join.
Stop going to oil drinking, star hunting, water selling or using, oil smearing or pouring, and salt using and etc. churches. Find grounds and pillars of truth and join for your own good. That is the message!!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY;
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”‘ Revelation 2:7 NKJV
