TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 29TH MAY 2024)
“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.
For the moth will eat them up like a garment, And the worm will eat them like wool; But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation from generation to generation.” Isaiah 51:7-8 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 150TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
What a day and time to be alive. For a hundred and fifty days, we have seen God’s faithfulness, kindness, compassion, mercy, deliverance, and healing virtues do wonders in our lives.
He has kept to His word of making this year our year of impact. There has been various glorious impact from His throne to our lives. It has shaped us, built some of us, kept us hungry for Him, and not allowed the darkness of this age overrun us.
Surely, if the LORD had not been on our side, things would have been very dark and bad to us. Blessed be the name of the LORD who has not given us to the teeth of our enemies. He has not given us to the power of their bite.
Some have bitten us with hate, bitterness, wickedness, and demonic possession. Others have bitten us in ignorance, foolishness, deception of their own hearts, and etc. But the LORD has been with us. Glory be to His great name.
Friend, so long as we live on this planet, enemies will always rise.
Let no one confuse you about that. There will always be men and spirits out there to hinder us. There will always be people who have no idea of who you are, trying to tell everyone who or what you are.
The foundation of that was laid when lucifer fell and was cast down to the earth. The Bible says;
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. Revelation 12:9 NKJV
THE DAY HE WAS CAST DOWN WAS THE DAY THE FOUNDATION OF ENMITY WAS LAID.
He was the first enemy to emerge. He emerged from the place of peace and progress. God did nothing to him, to warrant all he did to God. That is the way and manner most enmity operates. Once something enter their heart, they begin to act in enmity against you; something you did not even make to enter them.
That is the way enmity cooked from hell and served to us operates.
That is why we need God to fight for us. We are not to fight by ourselves. The Bible says by strength shall no man prevail. We need God to either silence them or cast them out of our space and lives.
When you see someone doing all kinds of evil to you, or saying all kinds of evil about you, while you have done nothing to warrant it, know that it did not start with you. It started in the eternal past. God was the first to face such attacks. That is why He is the only one who can help.
You only need to listen to His voice and not respond according to your feelings. You are to respond according to His word. He was the first to face a circumstance where someone who was once an angel in your space unjustly becomes an enemy, due to things that sprang up in his heart.
Yes, He was the first to face the very things you are facing, where your once trusted person (angel), unjustly becomes your arch enemy. So, He can help you if you are facing the same.
He can help you overcome unjust attacks against your life, unjust treatment from those you never expected will do that, unjust betrayals, and etc. He can help you because He was there. He has a package for those who have made themselves your enemy.
He has a plan against all who are up against you. Our devotional text says,
“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.

This is the word of the lord for you this morning.
Yes, if you are doing the will of God, if His word is in your heart, this is your rhema word. God is saying to you this morning, “do not fear the reproach of men, do not be afraid of their insults.”
He said, the moth of time and the consequences of their actions, will eat them away. But His righteousness that you stand for, will be forever.
Yes, the very things you are doing with Him, the righteous works that made Satan to enter their hearts, and sway them to do what they are doing to you, will not be cut off. Meaning, you will succeed against them, and spread on every side, while they diminish and disappear.
WHAT A WORD FROM THE LORD THIS DAY!!!
Child of God, the LORD has a History of securing His own with words like this from Heaven. His words are designed to create our world if we let them. That is why they come to pass in the lives of those who let them.
When He called Abraham, the first set of blessings He pronounced upon him has a portion that was about enemies. Being God, He foreknew what he was going to face and made that decree to make sure, Abram, who later became Abraham, was fine following Him to do His will.
He knew very well that, all hell do let loose on people of His will, hence making those decrees to shape the world of Abraham and his descendants.
Abraham’s life and times would later prove that, it is what God says that shapes what happens in our life, not what the devil might be doing through his demons or the people he has stirred up against us.
The Bible says;
“Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family
And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran”. Genesis 12:1-4 NKJV
YOU CANNOT HAVE THIS KIND OF WORD FROM THE LORD AND NOT MOVE TO FOLLOW HIM TO WHERE HE WANTS YOU TO GO.
You cannot have this word from the LORD and fear those who might be against you. You cannot have this word from the LORD, and think the enemy will succeed against you.
The word is clear on God’s plans for the enemy.
His plan is to do to him, exactly what he intends to do to anyone who is in the will and ways of the LORD. Yes, God’s plan is to deal with the enemy the way the enemy wants to deal with us. His plan is to bless anyone who blesses us, and curse anyone who curses us.
But the plan is not for everyone, because the word was not originally sent to a man who was just seated at home watching television. It was sent to a man who was taken out of his father’s house by the LORD, to go fulfill his part in God’s redemption plan.
There are blessings that flows into our lives only when we get out of the comfort of our lives and follow the LORD to do what He wants us to do. This blessing is one of such.
God will always bless those He calls. He will always curse those who curse people who are in his will and ways. It is a blessing of those who are sold out to do His will, like Jesus was. The Bible says not even the gates of death could stop Him.
You are the next on God’s list!!!
May the LORD bless you from His Throne!! May He make sure all who rises against you fall for your sake. May He silence all who want you silenced for standing in His ways or doing His will. May He stand with you and confirm His word in your life!!!
As we bring this to a close, it is important to understand that when the Bible says enemies, it is also referring to the things in our internal lives that are standing against our progress. The internal tendencies within us.
Things like lust, pride, indiscipline, spiritual ignorance, carnal desires, foolish talk, foolish decisions, laziness, lack of foresight or vision, immoral behavior, a lying tongue, a deceitful heart, a loose tongue, craftiness, etc.
That is why we need the mercy of God in our lives to be overruling these things, and bringing us to the place where we will not have such internal enemies in our lives.
The word of the LORD made it clear that when you see external enemies prevailing against people, it is because an internal enemy, like some of the sinful tendencies mentioned above, gave them over.
SHIPS DO NOT SINK BECAUSE OF WAVES ON THE HIGH SEA. THEY SINK BECAUSE OF LEAKS.
The Bible says;
“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV
There is no way we will succeed against our enemies by God’s design, or prosper according to His definition despite their attacks against us, if we have the internal enemies called the works of the flesh working within us. The Bible says, we will not even inherit the Kingdom of God.
Yes, the bites from the teeth of this internal enemies called the works of the flesh, will never allow us to have victory over the external enemies. They will hinder us from inheriting the kingdom of God, on this side of eternity and the other side.
In other words, the bite will prevent us from being accounted righteous before God for the enemy to be neutralized, thereby hindering us from living a life of peace and joy, because the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
I believe the word of the LORD has come to us this morning. I believe His message have been passed. May the LORD not stop doing to those Satan has induced to neutralize you what He did to them in the days of the Bible. May He fulfill His word and will for your life!!!
May the LORD not cease from delivering our enemies into our hands. May His precious Holy Spirit and Holy truths help cut off the works of the flesh from our lives. Amen!!!!
