THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 3RD JULY 2024)

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Psalm 32:1-6 KJV

WELCOME TO THE 184TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

Slowly, peacefully and actually, we are eating up the set days called 2024. Daily God has ben loading us with benefits. God’s grace, mercies, and power have been the secret of our sustenance, and we will remain hopeful and peaceful about the year.

So far, a lot have been released into our lives from His throne. Being a High Priest who can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, we have hope that we do not need to explain much to the LORD, for Him to know what we are going through and how He can help.

We do not need to talk too much for Him to answer our prayers. We do not even need to fast and fast and fast, except when trying to keep fit spiritually, for Him to hear and change our circumstances. We do not need to pray and pray and pray, shout for months and all that, for Him to hear us when we call.

We do not need to go to this mountain or that mountain, use this oil or that oil for Him to hear us. We do not need to do the scam described as raising or silencing an altar, for Him to hear us.

He is a high priest who can be touched with the feelings of our problems. That is why prayer in His kingdom is cheap.

Yes, prayer in His kingdom is cheap. It is preachers and spiritual people with dark mantles that have made it complicated. They have complicated it and re framed the spirit realm of people to follow their complicated paths. But the One who answers our prayers feels what we feel.

He knows our pain afar off, and sees our sorrows before it arrives. So, we do not need to make Him know what we feel. He already knows what we feel. Our job is to just pray, knowing He already knows. It is religion that makes you think you need to make Him know.

WE DO NOT MAKE GOD KNOW WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH. THAT WILL NOT BE PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS.

He said in His word;

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Matthew 6:5-8 NKJV

What a scripture. I wish every believer reads the Bible.

They will not be following the complicated prayer systems of their prophets, apostles, or etc. They would have been following the LORD. If we keep talking to the LORD who already knows what we need as if He knows nothing of what we need, we will keep praying like the Heathen or the hypocrite.

We will be screaming like the prophets of Baal did and not even come close to receiving answers to our prayers. Jesus has a history of knowing what His own are going through. He was here long before the cross, as the LORD GOD, and demonstrated that perfectly.

The Bible said this concerning Him;

“Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.” Exodus 2:23-25 NKJV

Do you see the preincarnate High priestly nature of Christ in this scripture? Do you see that He heard the groaning of the Jews while in Egypt, felt their pain, and mobilized Moses to go for the rescue? That is His nature.

THAT IS WHY PRAYER TO HIM FOR HELP DOES NOT REQUIRE LONG GRAMMAR AND RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES.

From this scripture it is clear that He can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities. It is clear that He does not just sympathize with us like men do, but actually participates in our pain and sorrows.

He knows what we go through by experiential knowledge. It is called, “the love of God.” The love of God governs answers to prayers. Yes, it is the love of God that makes our voices to be heard in Heaven, not even our Holiness sometimes.

Yes, there is a role our purity plays but God’s love supersedes them all. Else, no sinner will be heard when crying for help in repentance.

No wicked soul will be saved when trying to return to the LORD. The love of God is one of the beautiful factors that governs answers to prayers in His kingdom, hence the many sinners who are now transformed and rejoicing in Christ.

It is the reason He feels what we feel and hear us when we cry. It is the reason we do not need to travel to this place or the other place, for Him to hear us when we pray. It is not a God’s kingdom principle, to do much before the only God who feels what those who worship Him feel, hear you.

It is not His kingdom principle for you to sow a seed to Him, shed some tears, or spend some sleepless nights, except to keep yourself fit spiritually, for Him to hear you.

Even among men, you do not do that to someone who feels what you feel. He or she will stop you and be more eager to help than you are ready to receive that help. That is why sometimes, before we call on the LORD, He has answered. While we are still speaking, He has heard.

IT MAKES PRAYING ONE OF THE EASIEST THINGS TO DO.

I believe the LORD has spoken to someone today. Learn to trust in His love while talking to Him in prayers. Trust that He knows your sorrow while talking to Him.

It is important to note what prayer is all about.

Yes, it is important to note that talking to someone who already knows the feelings of your infirmity is what prayer is all about. Walk in that light and do not deviate. That is what makes prayer in the Christian faith different from any other faith.

What do you think would have happened to Noah after the flood if God was God who does not feel what His children feel? There would have been no Noah after the incident where he got drunk and became naked.

What do you think would have happened to David’s life during the days of his perils with Saul, his mentor who became his tormentor, if God was not the God who feels what we feel? There would have been no David.

What would have happened to Peter after walking on water for a while, and then began to sink the way many of us do spiritually, if God were not the God who feels what we feel? He would have sunk into the sea and perished.

What do you think would have happened to Samson after his two eyes were removed if God was not the God who feels what we feel? He would not have finished strong. He would have remained a laughing stock to his enemies.

Do you think God wants you or any of His own to be a laughing stock to their enemies? No!! The reason is because He participates in any pain when we become a laughing stock to our enemies. So, He will send help.

Yes, he will send help so do not give up praying. Yes, I might not know what you might have sunk into, or what you are presently sinking into, what I know is God feels what you feel, and will send help. So do not give up praying.

Do not stop calling upon the LORD. He will come through for you. The Bible says as many as call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.

So, I might not even know what any Philistine spirit or person might have done to your life or what a Saul spirit or personality might have damaged in your life, do not stop calling on God for intervention. He will come through for you. He feels what you feel and is currently participating in your sorrow.

A Part of our devotional text says;

“For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.” Psalm 32:8 KJV

As you keep praying, seeking and following His will, walking in His ways, and staying on fire on your prayer knee, He will come through for you. It is no longer a matter of if, but a matter of when. So, stay strong. Hang on there. God is on His way!!!

You will testify. When He comes do not forget to share the testimony with me! Amen and amen!!!

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD…. Jeremiah 29:11-14
