TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 19 JULY 2024)
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8:31-36 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 201ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
Indeed, our God is good and His mercies endures forever.
The LORD has done great things for us. He has been good and kind, compassionate and amazing. We give Him all the glory this day. God’s power has been speaking for us where we have not been able to speak for ourselves.
His mercies have made sure we do not mess our lives up and become destroyed. His faithfulness has been disappointing the craftiness of the wicked and making sure their hands do not perform their enterprise. We remain grateful!!!
Today we want to look at some life-giving words that will add to the building blocks of our faith.
The Bible says GOD commanded His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. If God will love us while we were yet sinners, how much more now that His blood has washed us from filths and sin and made us a righteous seed. That is why our devotional text today is very significant.
It was based on this revelation and divine conviction that Paul, one of the only true apostles of Grace, wrote to the Church at Rome. He wrote saying;
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
So long as we remain on the paths of righteousness, nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God. It is that love that keeps us from evil and all the enemy do muster against us.
The only person that can separate us from the love of God is us. That happens when we take sides with the devil and start doing his bidding. That is when we begin to share in the wrath of God upon him. Outside that, nothing can separate us from the love of God!
THAT IS WHY THE BIBLE ADMONISHES THAT WE KEEP OURSELVES IN THE LOVE OF GOD.
We can do things that can take us away from His love, and the early Church knew that very well.
Sadly, the heretic preachers among us, who call themselves GRACE PREACHERS, do not know that. They do not tell us that it is our responsibility to keep ourselves in the love of God by making use of His saving grace upon our lives to live right.
They do not tell us that if we do not keep ourselves in the love of God, His mercy will cease speaking for us and making way for us among the living; bringing damnable things into our lives.
Yes, the Bible says now is the day of salvation. If we do not make use of God’s love and mercy, many of us will be doomed forever. We must make use of the mercies of God upon our lives, else it become unfruitful in our lives.
Do not forget, we need God’s mercy to navigate through the waters of hate, spiritual warfare, lack, and all evil works. We need God’s mercy and love to overcome the attacks of those who want us dead before our time.
We need God’s mercy and Love to overcome the spiritual arrows that may be shot against us this season. We need God’s mercy to live in a wicked and sinful world and make Heaven at last. So keeping ourselves in the LOVE of God is not an option but a necessity.
God’s mercy is the greatest covering in God’s kingdom. It is stronger than any prayer cover on the face of the earth, and it is free. You do not sow a seed to get it. You do not raise an altar for it. You do not go to any mountain to pray to access it. You access it through heartfelt prayers.
Meaning, you can just stand anywhere and kneel anywhere to ask for it. That was how every one who requested for it got it. The Bible is full of such men and women.
THEY GOT IT AND THINGS THEY NEEDED FROM THE LORD WERE RELEASED.
For instance, the prodigal son got it and returned back to the father’s house. The woman that was caught in adultery got it, and she was saved from being stoned to death. Blind Bartimaeus got it, and his sight was restored to him. Peter got it, and was restored back after denying the LORD.
The woman whose son was dead and was being taken to the grave, got it and her son was raised back to life. The woman at the well got it, and she stepped into her prophetic destiny. The people at the wedding feast got it, and their water was turned to wine.
In the days of the Old Testament, David got it, and was chosen as Saul’s replacement. Sadly, Saul lost it and lost the Throne. No one gets God’s mercies and remains the same, and no one also loses it and remain the same. That is the message!
If you need God’s mercies in your life, just kneel before Him and ask Him for it until it begins to change your life. That is how we rise in life.
If it begins to change your life, live a life of submission to His will and ways so that it will remain in your life, and not be lost. We might pray to get God’s mercies, but to retain it, we must live right.
Our devotional text today is full of truths that we can glean from and save ourselves from the judgments and condemnation of God on any generation of carnal and satanic people. I think we can glean some of these truths and add to what the LORD has already shared with us on His mercies.
When I say judgment, I am not referring to rebukes from people of God who want you to make Heaven. Our Church generation calls such rebukes Judgment. When I say judgment, I am referring to verdicts passed against sin, Satan and the evil and corrupt system of this world by God.
We share in these verdicts if we do the bidding of the evil one! Prophetically, we are in a season of harvest for the many seeds of wickedness people sowed in time past. Please Keep yourself in the love and mercy of God by living right. Spend time daily asking for God’s mercy to be upon you through heartfelt prayers.
Highlights of our devotional text this morning says;
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
…Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:31, 33-34 NKJV
KEEPING YOURSELF IN THE LOVE OF GOD IS CRITICAL TO SEEING THIS SCRIPTURE MADE MANIFEST IN YOUR LIFE.
No one can bring a charge against God’s elects, either spiritually or physically. God’s elects are not people who go to Church. You can go to church without being God’s elect. But you cannot be God’s elect without belonging to a local Church somewhere.
God’s elects are people who have been set aside by the LORD. You will find them walking in Holiness, purity of life and heart, righteousness and sanctification. They do not defile themselves with the things of this world. They are separate and carry a Heavenly fragrance wherever they go.
It is sad that even a lot of us preachers are not God’s elects. By our behaviors and characters, we are rascals and lost souls speeding to hell, and are not God’s elects. That is why these kinds of blessings are missing in our lives and the life of those who hear us.
God’s elects among preachers are also different. They function as God’s catalyst of holy living and purity. They teach believers to keep themselves in the love of GOD by living right, keeping their lamps burning and their faith alive. They teach them not to make friendship with the world.
What is the message this morning? The message of the LORD is simple. It says keep yourself in the love of God. That we do, by not making friendship with the world, doing the bidding of the devil, or spending our days walking in the flesh.
If you keep yourself in the love of God, you will enjoy the best of God set aside for the PROPHETIC season that is upon us!
You will enjoy things generations past only saw in the Spirit and prophesied. You will see Heaven empty Herself upon you. Yes, you will see things that eyes have not seen, ears heard or hearts conceived.
You will experience blessings and manifestations of God, reserved for those who love the LORD.
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:9-14 NKJV
